- thejimmyo, on 01/12/2009, -1/+27Joe Scarborough pulls statistics directly from his ass when he says this: "I know for a fact that waterboarding brought our interrogators, brought Americans, probably about 70-75 percent of what they get."
- dagnabbit, on 01/12/2009, -0/+22Joe Scarborough is a d-bag and his sidekick Mika is an idiot bobblehead.
- mediablitz, on 01/12/2009, -0/+21Experts involved in decades worth of interrogation say torture is the least reliable, least effective way to gather information, but Joe knows better than them (in his own mind, that is).
If you want someone to tell you whatever you want to hear (like the WMD "confession" we got via waterboarding), then torture is your answer. If you want credible, reliable information, use the non-torture techniques that have been successful for years.
Oh, using torture also gains the United States "we are just like you" status among terrorists. Way to go, Joe! - MidwestDigg, on 01/12/2009, -0/+20While some interrogation tactics have proven to be effective, I think it's impossible to say that any one form of torture works 100% of the time. Joe needs to realize that many of those who are interrogated have undergone extensive psychological training to help them deal with some of these effects. What he didn't mention is how much of the information gathered from this was false.
If I had some electric paddles taped to my nuts, hell I'd make something up to make them stop. I'd probably be pretty convincing too. - thejimmyo, on 01/12/2009, -0/+19I highly, highly recommend that everyone give this article a read:
http://www.vanityfair.com/magazine/2008/12/torture ... - ThsGuyRightHere, on 01/12/2009, -0/+16Every interrogator I've ever worked with has said that torturing prisoners is a waste of time. Not because of any moral compunction, but rather because the information you get isn't reliable.
- Anomaly100, on 01/12/2009, -0/+13Joe Scarborough has the IQ and common sense of a bag of hammers. He really needs to find out in a very personal way, if water boarding is indeed torture. Someone should introduce him to it. I think he wouldn't be so self-righteous after that..
It's not just whether we get good or useable information from water boarding, but it's the opposite of what our country stands for. This isn't a television show. And we don't need someone like Joe Scarborough, who obviously thinks he's Jack from the show, "24". That's TV and we don't live there. - SubEl, on 01/12/2009, -0/+12well put, sir or madam, well put.
- inactive, on 01/12/2009, -0/+10Joe Scarborough is a dried-up, limp-dicked, asswipe who couldn't get enough viewers to keep his evening time slot on MSNBC. MSNBC decided they needed a token scumservative, AND since Don Imus is an idiot-***** (yes, I know he and his wife do good things charity-wise) they gave his quickly-vacated timeslot to Joe "I was a congressman!" Scarborough. He's a hack. He's a sloth. He's a dick.
I say we all e-mail him at MSNBC and tell him how we feel about him.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28437928/ - Anomaly100, on 01/12/2009, -0/+9That article from your link says it all. Thx, I saved it for future reference. It's really amazing that some dolt like Scarborough actually tells others, that THEY are being sophomoric!
From your link:
As for K.S.M. himself, who (as Jane Mayer writes) was waterboarded, reportedly hung for hours on end from his wrists, beaten, and subjected to other agonies for weeks, Bush said he provided “many details of other plots to kill innocent Americans.” K.S.M. was certainly knowledgeable. It would be surprising if he gave up nothing of value. But according to a former senior C.I.A. official, who read all the interrogation reports on K.S.M., “90 percent of it was total ***** *****.” A former Pentagon analyst adds: “K.S.M. produced no actionable intelligence. He was trying to tell us how stupid we were.” - inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+8That idiot, Joe that shouldn't be on TV dude- needs to be waterboarded, I dare the wimp!
- kmom5, on 01/13/2009, -0/+6What a jack ass.
- Anomaly100, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5You have the best information links. Really. That was incredible. I watched the video of his experience and since I already have a fear of water, it flipped me completely out. Gee, thanks;-)
- thejimmyo, on 01/12/2009, -0/+5"He really needs to find out in a very personal way, if water boarding is indeed torture."
Christopher Hitchens did it, and now he's very much positive that waterboarding is indeed torture.

- jeffbw, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3Scarborough is beyond despicable, but what's new? As I understand it, at least seventy people have died as a direct result of abuse while in U.S. custody, many of those literally tortured to death, and probably the majority of those innocent of anything whatsoever. There is no excuse for anyone defending this *****.
- JenniferInMO, on 01/13/2009, -0/+3I was just about to say that. If MSNBC wants a conservative view there has to be someone who isn't a total moron. I've met some conservatives on Digg who I may disagree with, but who aren't clueless.
