- Gerz1219, on 05/16/2008, -15/+224If only the Democrats had such balls in 2003.
- Todash19, on 05/16/2008, -16/+133Biden is right.
- doti, on 05/16/2008, -17/+111dugg for not titling it "Biden PWNS Bush".
(and Biden's comments are great) - reuscel, on 05/16/2008, -12/+78Biden was my candidate of choice at the beginning of the Democratic primary, precisely because of statements like this. He doesn't parse words, and rarely speaks like a politician. He would be one hell of a VP. You listening, Barry?
- UTKevdawg, on 05/16/2008, -14/+67I typically vote Republican but I might have crossed the aisle for Biden. I don't agree with all of his policy ideas but he is no nonsense and will never fail to tell you exactly what he thinks or believes. Big mistake not making this guy the candidate.
Plus he was one of the few candidates that spoke openly about dealing with genocide in Darfur. - MrTito, on 05/16/2008, -9/+39This is like "don't ***** with the Dems" day. Biden literally called "*****" on the President. And the gem of John Conyers on Rove:
"We're closing in on Rove. Someone's got to kick his ass... We'll do what any self-respecting committee would do. We'd hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested."
Did someone give the Democrats a stim pack? Please, keep it up. - blakecr, on 05/16/2008, -17/+47"Kick his ass sea bass!" I love Biden!
- Scottievm, on 05/16/2008, -7/+34Screw VP, Biden should get Secretary of State. He's the most qualified high-profile Democrat for the job.
- s810, on 05/16/2008, -11/+37If you look at the photo it's clear he was shouting "I'M CRUSHING YOUR HEAD!" while also trying to psychically crush Bush's head with his thumb and forefinger. Where's the coverage?
- scottus0, on 05/16/2008, -2/+26Joe Biden has always had such balls.
- wild, on 05/16/2008, -13/+37Its about time the Democrats started showing some balls.
He would be a hell of a VP. (Save Hagel's outside shot, Biden is my number one choice.) - elxkid, on 05/16/2008, -19/+32"Can people really be this dumb and be elected by the American people?
I know I never voted for him."
He wasn't elected, he was installed. Maybe you've forgotten what happened in florida in 2000 and that Bush lost the popular vote 2004. - treehugger87, on 05/16/2008, -4/+17Yeah, cause anyone who's not a millionaire is going to be devastated by the capital gains tax. I would gladly pay another $5000 a year in taxes so I would not longer have to pay $15000 a year for medical insurance and expenses.
We may not need to charge the oil companies windfall taxes if we can take them off the very expensive corporate welfare they are on. - dinsy, on 05/16/2008, -6/+18Money where the mouth is Joe: Impeach and Indict. Now
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -0/+12If only Joe Biden had the balls to stick with this comment. He went on TV and said he shouldn't have used that word. I mean FFS, when will people stop making the news rated G--this is the real world and people say "*****". Certainly suicide bombings, serials killers, and the other horrible events that occur in out world are more offensive than a word, but people don't complain about those things as much as they complain about potty language and sex...
- quomen, on 05/16/2008, -1/+12I've always liked him. Even more so than Obama. By the way, I'm a republican, but something about Joe Biden screams "vote for me!". It's really a shame that he didn't get further, I was rooting for him.
- JigoroKano, on 05/16/2008, -2/+13Biden was one of the only candidates in the race with significant foreign policy experience and at the same time not ***** insane. Clinton and McCain both talk experience but frequently misspeak about foreign affairs. Senility or ignorance, both are bad.
- dinsy, on 05/16/2008, -3/+12Technically won popular vote in '04 but there was major fraud in Ohio. Probably elsewhere as well.
- nblsavage, on 05/16/2008, -0/+9You never hear of RFID?
- MWeather, on 05/16/2008, -4/+12As opposed the the typical Republican: All action, no thinking.
- mfc5200, on 05/16/2008, -1/+9Yea, I'm a libertarian, but I definitely thought Richardson, Biden, and Dodd were the strongest/best democratic candidates. Shame.
- CyberSally, on 05/16/2008, -13/+21Joe Biden for VP!
- Homerr, on 05/16/2008, -3/+11Yep, this is normally the part where Democrats start apologizing for using a 'bad word' and get jumped by the media instead of standing their ground and calling a spade a spade.
- blackinthmiddle, on 05/16/2008, -12/+20Unfortunately, there's a segment of the population that will believe pretty much anything and are easily manipulated. It's the reason Bush can continue to get away selling his *****. In any event, Biden would make a great VP!
- Enjia, on 05/16/2008, -1/+9dugg for obscure kids in the hall reference.
- inactive, on 05/16/2008, -5/+13They've always been there. America just chose to ignore them at the time.
And they're going to ignore them this time too.
You like people with balls, but you don't have the balls to follow them. - cha5e, on 05/16/2008, -0/+8> Joe Biden is a known plagiarist
Source? - quomen, on 05/16/2008, -1/+8They really were, but we have a celebrity obsessed culture.. Mob rules.
- woofers07, on 05/16/2008, -3/+10it's good to see that the democrats are starting to show some resemblance of actually having a set of balls.
- NJank, on 05/16/2008, -1/+8seriously. if the average Digger saw Parliament in action, they go nuts. nothing like a daily political shouting match that looks like it'll end in fisticuffs to get the political spirit going. US Congress appears to give daily doses of Valium.
- buffyangel108, on 05/16/2008, -4/+11He could have gone with: "F***ING THING SUCKS!" for greater effect ;)
- inactive, on 05/16/2008, -2/+8"I defend Israel because people like Ahmadinejad attack it."
Holocaust =/= Israel =/= jews.
Israel is based on the notion of homeland. Same notion that led to the genocide of jews in Germany.
And what if Christians decided that Israel is the land of Jesus and that's the homeland of christians?
The homeland principle is inherently flawed, it's also racist. - MacEnvy, on 05/16/2008, -1/+7Either him or Richardson. To be honest, Richardson has better diplomatic skills. Biden has more legislative experience.
- revjustin2, on 05/16/2008, -0/+6I hear what your saying, but since elections are geared to gathering the most votes, it's kind of shortsighted to sling "mob rules" around. In a democracy where the majority vote wins, "mob rules" isn't really the right idea here. In order for anyone to gain any political ground, one has to play the popularity game or you'll never get anywhere.
- markgl, on 05/16/2008, -3/+8i think he's missing the point that if we've already talked with them and gotten no where, where does obama think he is going to take the talks to?
- FecalHurler, on 05/16/2008, -0/+5Psh. They'd lose 25% of their HP. They better have medics with them.
- Troika37, on 05/16/2008, -10/+14Barack Obama claims he's not an appeaser. But when President Bush attacked those who "seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists," why was the senator sure he was talking about him?
- inactive, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4Let me know when you see a Republican. The party has been co-opted by neocons
- Seemefearme, on 05/16/2008, -2/+6UTKevdawg gave his very honest straight forward opinion with no degrading remarks about anyone and still got dugg down because the Obama fanbase can't take a single negative remark about him.
You were/are a Republican, UTKevdawg, and I am not, but today I felt more on your side than anyone. Thanks for the constructive comments, people like you make Digg intriguing to read. - SpencerMc, on 05/16/2008, -1/+5Weak. 2 out of 10, and that's being generous.
- ozymandias2012, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4That appeasement comment is such a non-issue. It's silly for the Democrats to become so unglued over something so insignificant. I mean they love to point out how stupid and unpopular Bush is, and now they're worried he's "damaged" Obama with this...I don't think so.
- sodade, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4You are both right.
- yojiffyskippy, on 05/16/2008, -1/+5That's hilarious. They're all the same so they all think he's talking to them.
- goomba323, on 05/16/2008, -1/+5You're retarded if you think he wasn't referring to Obama/the Democrats. White House officials have basically confirmed that he was alluding to Obama and the Democrats. You having the same stance as Dana Perino ("oh, he wasn't talking about Obama, you just have a guilty conscience"...o rly????) doesn't really help your credibility (sad how these days you AREN'T credible if your the White House press secretary).
Even if it wasn't directed at Obama specifically, it was still a shot at the Dems, which is political treason if I've ever seen it (basically telling Israel if the Democrats are elected, then you're *****...which couldn't be farther from the truth....in fact, it's probably more accurate the other way around).
So please, shut up, no one's buying the "he didn't mention Obama by name" schpeal, that was done purposefully for exactly that reason...you...are...a....baaaaah - Apocrypha, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4I don't ever want to see "PWNS" in a headline.....ever. Because 6 year olds have better things to do than make lame digg headlines.
- nighthwk1, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3Edwards has already said he would not run for VP, "It won't happen."
- dforty3, on 05/16/2008, -3/+6It's just amazing how the country survived with 35% Capital gains tax in the past. Raising taxes for the wealthy is the only way to get out of the huge debt this administration has put us in. Either that or just let the debt pile up exponentially over years and pass the bill to our children and their children. What is it the republicans like to say? Oh yeah... Freedom isn't free.
- drgooch, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3Biden's a moron like you other nuts. What's BS about it? Obama would sit down with Osama if he could to discuss their differences. There's no difference between Ahmanutjob and Osama.
- drdavid, on 05/16/2008, -4/+7Thanks, Joe. You made my day.
