- skertso, on 09/06/2008, -5/+26Just winging it based on a 'gut' feeling is how this country has gotten into the mess we are in and we don't need 4 more years of it. Thanks but No Thanks!
NO WAY, NO HOW, NO McCAIN-PALIN!! - inactive, on 09/06/2008, -7/+27McCain is a shoot-from-the-hip, dice rolling, maverick about his most important decisions. That is not the kind of leadership we need, my friends.
- chickenloco, on 09/07/2008, -2/+17Everybody - go to the "Who Dugg This?" page and click through to the very end. Click through the users who were the first to Digg. 99+ Percent of what they Digg is ONLY Anti McCain/Palin or Pro Obama Stories. Suspicious?
- friscos, on 09/07/2008, -0/+12Do you have a credible source for this list? If so, could you post the URL?
- nobillary, on 09/06/2008, -6/+17"She was selected, is qualified and is ready to serve." But she's NOT ready to answer the press' questions, because she might make mistakes. Doesn't that cause us to ask how ready to serve is she REALLY?
America will not elect a President whose running mate was chosen as a "pig in a poke", nor will we accept her silence much longer. We need to know her, not just the spin about her.
John McCain has shown us once again that his judgment is suspect, not to mention highly questionable. - chmcarro, on 09/07/2008, -5/+15Who finds the Huffington Post enjoyable?
- cici102, on 09/06/2008, -9/+19as a woman, i feel that her willingness to allow mccain to silence her, and refuse to let her be interviewed, is not only horsehockey but incredibly demeaning. women of america - where are you????
and what a double standard - you cant use my family, but i can parade them on the stage, including the suddenly cleaned up future son in law. any question becomes sexism.
bull *&*& - she scares this mom! and she is NO role model for my daughter. (example - cackling when the radio host calls another woman very bad names????????? - BOO!) - mark076h, on 09/07/2008, -8/+18It's Saturday and more spam from The Huffington Spam!
- richirwin, on 09/06/2008, -6/+14LET SARAH SPEAK!
- raybury, on 09/07/2008, -0/+8I prefer "Huffingpaint Post."
- tbredofsin, on 09/07/2008, -2/+9Obligatory "HuffPo. Buried."
- ajames01, on 09/07/2008, -0/+6If its a personal opinion on digg it must be true.
- COINTELPROAgent, on 09/07/2008, -2/+8There are no questions, only hype. Buried - inaccurate.
- DaDrake, on 09/07/2008, -1/+6So you are assuming a governor of a state, one who went against her own republican party, is being held up in a kitchen like a battered wife by McCain?
Is it me, or does it seem like someone is projecting their own insecurities onto another person. Give me a break. - hoshinokoe, on 09/07/2008, -0/+5if you want a valid reason to be upset get mad at the media saying that she needs to be with her family at home and not pursue her career... that in itself is sexist. even if she has different opinions/views on the world than you she should still be a good role model because she is a women. i feel like this feminism movement has been hijacked and turned into a liberal woman movement.
- superkendall, on 09/07/2008, -3/+8Man, a flurry of people sure are scared of her. All Democrats. The Republicans are plenty satisfied.
After all, she's got more credentials than Obama and she's not even lead on the ticket! At least Palin can learn from McCain, so she is ready in four years (or sooner, makes no difference to me) - ajames01, on 09/07/2008, -1/+6Pretty fluffy speeches don't run countries either.
- dn11, on 09/07/2008, -1/+5Don't just post random accusations without citing any sources - not helpful
- TSK05, on 09/07/2008, -2/+6This is of course *****, the majority of those books are extremely popular and I can't think of any reason she'd ask for them to be banned.
- whatever01, on 09/07/2008, -0/+4It seems to me most Diggers respond like children. Quick to taunt, quick to fall in line, ridiculously over confident in their ability to see the world and generally lacking perspective. Just because an article criticizes someone you don't like doesn't mean it's a good article.
The Republican party apparatus has become very deft at defining the terms and conditions of the discussion and the debate. They have shown themselves to be masters of deflecting the energy, like bullfighters, or judo masters. Sometimes, you've got to just sit back and admire the ballet.
Still, I'd love to see some group of people -- right or left wing -- just work on executing basic governance. - skoles, on 09/07/2008, -1/+5But he sure can shotgun a can of Ensure, balance the countries budget before Matlock, eat solid foods and make potty all by himself. And that's a leader we can believe in.
- ColRanger, on 09/06/2008, -11/+15For those that do not like the Huffingtonpost is that because the Truth Hurts?? Or are you far right cry babies?
- inactive, on 09/07/2008, -3/+6Double standard would be saying it's ok to attack Palin's family but not Obama's. So should people start bashing Obama's children because Obama brought them on stage, put their pictures in books, tv and news articles? Are you kidding me.
- ajames01, on 09/07/2008, -1/+4Wow... I'm guessing your economic class was canceled this semester?
The majority of businesses are small businesses, not Enrons, Worldcoms and son on. How do you generalize all business training into such an ignorant statement?
I agree the best companies are those doing "good things" but almost all companies are doing good things for every individual. Where do you work? How do you make a living? Who pays the majority of our taxes? How do we have an economy not equal to a third world country?
By the way... a good bit of time is spent in the MBA program teaching you how to start companies with purpose... those purposes are almost always to benefit mankind. - topgigmedia, on 09/07/2008, -0/+3Maverick: an independent individual who does not go along with a group or party (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/maverick ...
Voting 90% with the Bush admin hardly defines McSame as Maverick. McCain is as much a "maverick as Obama is a Muslim. Look at his record. It is impossible to dispute.
Geez people, enough already with the maverick Bullsh*t. I am sick and tired of it. - ajames01, on 09/07/2008, -3/+6What truth? Even main media (no, not fox) has demoralized these liberal blogs.
- vexingmodstwo, on 09/07/2008, -4/+7Wait a minute. You just make up a theory and then you get upset about it?
No one is "silencing" her. She's spending the next few days with her son who is being deployed to Iraq. The far left moonbat blogs DO NOT get any say as to when she goes on the press circuit. - aclements, on 09/07/2008, -5/+8"I realize that it’s the younger college-brainwashed crowd..."
Well, I see you weren't burdened with an overabundance of education. - emeralddragon, on 09/07/2008, -0/+3Ah nothing smells so sweet as a Democratic sexist...
- Arrowette, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2This is actually not true. Some of those books, like the Harry Potters, weren't published during Palin's tenure as mayor. Here is what happened:
An Alaskan wrote a blog entry speculating about which books may have been on the list that Palin found objectionable, and the conflict with the librarian, and also cited a list of books COMMONLY BANNED in libraries in the U.S. Since it is the only hit generated on "What books did Palin ban" (or something like that, I don't remember exactly but I actually did the search and found only this blog) someone undoubtedly searched for the info, did a cursory job of skimming the post, and co-opted the list.
It almost happened to me because I got excited when I found actual titles, but then when I read more closely I realized that it was a list of books that have been banned recently in various places.
BTW, a lot of those books have reproductive, sexual, scary, or mystical content, and that is probably why they are taken from some library shelves. So wrong, but that's the reason.
(Also, I cannot *stand* Palin, but it does no good to spread myths.) - vexingmodstwo, on 09/07/2008, -3/+5You'd think that after getting rope-a-doped and Palin delivering the knockout punch on Wednesday night that the left would stop drumming up more interest in her.
But they're famously stupid so I guess it isn't really surprising. Palin will spend the next few days with her son before he deploys to Iraq and she'll be on the press circuit afterwards.... and she's going to shine like she always does. - harrypl0tter, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2LMAO
there is a Biden gaffe one too.. - mgraham80, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2Can't it be both?
- inactive, on 09/07/2008, -2/+4I think this is a brilliant strategy that is working very well. Let the far left keep bashing Palin over trivial matters and galvanize support for the republicans rallying behind her. Truly a excellent move by a political chess grandmaster.
Even better is to let the far left take their presidential candidate and have him start comparing himself to our vp candidate.
The result, let Obama's own ego and followers blinding support cause him to place himself in competition with our vp candidate and as a result place himself underneath our Presidential candidate.
I doubt McCain or his supporters would stoop so low as to compare McCain to Biden.. - Viperidae, on 09/07/2008, -10/+12buried you as republican spam
- charlietuna, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2I am not ashamed of my guns or my religion, nor am I insulted. Your point is not well taken.
- inactive, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2Education isn't brainwashing, it's the definition of enlightenment!
- Taiyoryu, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2It would be a blessing if the Republicans got their house in order.
- flamyngo, on 09/07/2008, -1/+3huge obama supporter here, and even I am sick of the huffingtonspam.
- TheInformer, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2Keep up the free advertising for Palin, lefties. Palin wouldn't have near the face time and news time devoted to her if it weren't for the spazzing out of the left.
Realize that *you* are partly responsible for her getting so much national exposure! LOL!
Huffingtonpost spewage. Buried. - inactive, on 09/07/2008, -2/+4If there was ONE truth in the billion articles on digg from huffington and dailykos, maybe I would take you seriously. But the garbage from them starting with Hilary, then McCain and now Palin makes your argument LAUGHABLE.
- inactive, on 09/07/2008, -3/+5It's quite sickening. Just reinforces my perception of obamabots as deranged naive lunatics without life experiences.
- TheInformer, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2Let's compare...
Sarah Palin = devoted mother and wife.
Joe Biden = drunk

"Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor."
fair enough, it turns out the list of books posted above is apparently bogus - and for that I deeply apologize. But unfortunately that's not the point.
The point IS Sarah Palin really DID try to have certain books banned from the library for "offensive language" - what that offensive language was we don't know, and to whom it was offensive leaves it open to be extremely subjective. Bad-mouthing a cow in some parts of the world is offensive.
the practice of banning books is an intensely undemocratic action, and should cause voters to be extremely wary of any potential presidential candidate who has a HISTORY of attempting it. It is undemocratic, and unamerican.
again, I apologize for the list, but I'm sure the truth will come out shortly anyway. And to those who resort to "barnyard insults" as their form of attack, please maintain the perspective that political debate is not personal, it's political. If you think the anonymity of the internet gives you license to spout incoherent obscenity at those attempting a vetting process, you're wrong. especially when when the MSM remains under the thumb of media censorship. Try to elevate your discourse please. If I don't take your verbal diarrhea personally, you shouldn't take my mistake personally either. take a deep breath. - ajames01, on 09/07/2008, -2/+4Every social psychology teacher I've had in college so far has admitted to being liberal and biased. They usually don't see eye-to-eye with the business education teachers who are usually republicans. Too bad most people aren't going for their MBA.
- TheInformer, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2Huffingtonpost would nothing but a little niche far leftist blog if it weren't for their readers and lemmings coming to Digg to advertise their site.
How would you react if 8 out of 10 U.S. Elections 2008 articles were by Rush Limbaugh, hmmmmmmmmm? - mmilton, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2...backfire on "us", Obama supporters. I want to see Obama win. However, all of the vitriol is causing a backlash and will end up putting McCain in the White House because Palin will get a sympathy vote.
Instead, let's talk about the issues. For example, she wants to have creationism taught in schools.... not exactly a mainstream idea. Most people probably believe that Darwin, when he went to the Galapagos in the 1800's, was on to something. -
