- snotrokit, on 07/09/2008, -1/+85Yes, we are all pissed. Our Democrat congress has sold our Constitutional rights down the river for Telcomm cash just like the hoars that they are. Our Government CLEARLY no longer represents the people of this country, or the will of it's people. It is also now painfully obvious that the future leadership of this country is either fully aligned with these actions, or is fully able and willing to be bought.
Lets do something about this, lets hold these people accountable.

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." - nontoxyc, on 07/09/2008, -7/+66The leadership of the United States of America has committed high crimes and treason against the American people. Here is my list of charges against the Democrats and Republicans in the Senate and White House:
1) They used false and misleading intelligence to start wars in Afghanistan and Iraq
2) They have violated the Constitution by holding US citizens without charges
3) They have violated the Constitution by tapping our calls without warrants
4) They have violated the Geneva Conventions by waging wars of aggression for profit
5) They have violated the Geneva Conventions by torturing enemy combatants in Abu Ghraib.
6) They have committed financial crimes against the American people by devaluing our dollar.
7) The outing of an undercover identity is a capital crime under US law.
It is hereby RESOLVED that the DEMOCRATS are TRAITORS just like the REPUBLICANS. They have lost their claim to power by their illegal actions. The only answer is to PROTEST. Digg it up. If we don't stop them now we may not be able to.
I'm going to the DNC to protest--then I'm going to the RNC to protest--then I'm going to DC - snotrokit, on 07/09/2008, -1/+57ROLL CALL!

Democrats: a mandate and a majority and you roll over like beaten dogs. ***** you.
Republicans: Not a one of you could stand on principle? NOT ONE?
Protection of civil liberties and rule of law are my central issues. I will support any candidates, regardless of party, who will protect our liberties.
As an aside: Obama - EVEN CLINTON voted against this crap. WTF.
Hillary ***** Clinton apparently has a more finely honed respect for the rule of law than you, a constitutional law professor?!
WTF. - groverblue, on 07/09/2008, -3/+41***** pussies! I will do everything I can to promote ANY candidate running against my Senators.
- maeon3, on 07/10/2008, -3/+37Fascism checklist:
1. Powerful and continuing nationalism: Flag waving, either your with us or your against us.
2. Disdain for the recognition of human rights: Guantanamo Bay, Abu Ghraib.
3. Identifying enemies or scapegoats as a unifying cause: Terrorists in Iraq and Iran.
4. Supremacy of military: Military given most money even with domestic problems.
5. Rampant sexism: Discrimination based on gender.
6. Controlled mass media: Fox news, CNN, and MSNBC. Ignore the big issues, glorify the non-issues.
7. Obsession with national security: Ministry of Homeland Security, protect the people from non-threats.
8. Religion and government intertwined: Religious terminology is used to perceive/describe the world.
9. Corporate power is protected: Legislation passed to allow big corporations to swallow up start ups.
10. Labor power is suppressed: Democracy slowly replaced with fascism.
11. Disdain for intellectuals and the arts: Intellectualism and knowledge considered elitism and frowned upon.
12. Obsession with crime and punishment: Laws slowly redefined to make everyone a criminal, "suspicious illegal behavior".
13. Rampant cronyism and corruption: Dick Cheney, Gonzales, George Bush. Lies more frequent than honesty.
14. Fraudulent elections. Voting is glorified and encouraged by the media. Results Fixed.

And are those super delegates still out there? Is there time to change the Democratic presidential nomination before it's too late?? - kemp34, on 07/10/2008, -5/+36Do not vote for Obama or McCain. Go third party, ANY third party. Barr, Baldwin, Nader, McKinney. Any of these individuals would oppose this terrible bill. Go that route, don't sanction the BS. Please.
- iceman0113, on 07/10/2008, -1/+32"Obama's vote in favor of cloture, in particular, cemented the complete betrayal of the commitment he made back in October when seeking the Democratic nomination. Back then, Obama's spokesman -- in response to demands for a clear statement of Obama's views on the spying controversy after he had previously given a vague and noncommittal statement -- issued this emphatic vow:
To be clear: Barack will support a filibuster of any bill that includes retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies.
But the bill today does include retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies. Nonetheless, Obama voted for cloture on the bill -- the exact opposition of supporting a filibuster -- and then voted for the bill itself."
That paragraph speaks for itself. - ordig, on 07/09/2008, -0/+29Wow Both my senators voted against it! Washington State Kicks Ass!
Now if only we could secede from this ***** up country. - Jincopunk, on 07/10/2008, -0/+26since it violates the 4th ammendment shouldn't judicial review knock it out?
- Pissoff, on 07/09/2008, -2/+27Everyone's at work, we have to work to pay for our $4/gal gas to drive to work, eat lunch, and home again.
It's too bad, everyone just sits and watches, ( me included ). - tellahoohooo, on 07/10/2008, -1/+25i'm too frustrated to type anything good
- haxcorner, on 07/10/2008, -1/+23I didn't doubt it would get passed, but Obama's a dick.
- an0nymous, on 07/09/2008, -0/+19They're going to get the money I was going to donate to Obama this year.
- Quaterni0n, on 07/10/2008, -2/+19***** THING SUCKS!
- mrro, on 07/10/2008, -1/+18I am disgusted. Obama had my vote for President but it has been flushed down the drain. This would have been my first presidential vote; I'm 21 and I have never felt inspired or compelled to action by politics or politicians. Senator Obama changed that. I bought into the rhetoric, which I am usually wary of doing. But his support for the FISA bill is akin to throwing a log on the bonfire upon which our Constitution is burning to ashes. It is nearly incomprehensible, not to mention heartbreaking, that so many senators would shamelessly condone MULTIPLE FELONIES committed by the President and his cadre. And the one I had started to believe in is among that group with the dubious title of 'those who have forsaken their duty to their country.'
I feel conned; the small amount of belief I had for this country's improvement, a restoration to what it can and should be, has been stolen to be processed in what appears to be nothing more than another campaign machine. I am ashamed and saddened and I can only hope that the grip of Obama's rhetoric can be loosened, that people can see through the tempting salesmanship. Bush and Cheney have not made any "compromises" like this with Congress, and certainly not with the American people. Why should you Obama, or any one of you "distinguished" U.S. Senators? - Kanele, on 07/10/2008, -0/+16If senators can be bought, so can be judges
- sonar1, on 07/10/2008, -0/+16i feel like ***** rioting.
- lamiaconfitor, on 07/10/2008, -0/+15Impossibility clause, anyone? You cannot write a law to make breaking the law legal. It shouldn't be able to stand up in court.
- PabloMac, on 07/10/2008, -0/+15"Barack Obama joined every Senate Republican (and every House Republican other than one) by voting in favor of it..."
- Terr01, on 07/09/2008, -0/+14You took the words right out of my mouth.
Perhaps I'll send the Obama campaign $1 with "FISA" written on it in in red marker and a note explaining I sent the $X-1 to the ACLU and EFF. - snotrokit, on 07/09/2008, -0/+14the EFF and ACLU have both filed suits.

Now does anyone wonder if the DNC & RNC is on the same team? It's a great team, it's team let's destroy America.
But not to worry TV hasn't told people to get upset...
It's over. - FunkyDung, on 07/10/2008, -0/+13The Dems basically bent over and asked Bush to pass the Vaseline.
- TubbyCat, on 07/10/2008, -1/+13RIP America
- SwordOfShannara, on 07/09/2008, -1/+13You can take action against this here: http://www.accountabilitynowpac.com . AccountabilityNowPAC (a.k.a. Strangebedfellows) is a right-left coalition that aims to hold these politicians accountable by removing them from office.
- davidg11, on 07/10/2008, -1/+12This is Obama's change.
Same ol' Same ol'.
Yippie! - HolyMan28, on 07/10/2008, -2/+13What the ***** is wrong with our country?
Seriously. This is retarded. - plhofmei, on 07/10/2008, -0/+10Be sure to check how your Senator voted Here http://senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/ ... and here http://senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/ ... and send them the appropriate "thank you" or "shame on you!" email.
- deathsythe, on 07/10/2008, -1/+11Well well well,
My how the tables have turned. Your precious Obama has turned against you yet again. Perhaps this time you will learn about the REAL CHANGE that he is shooting for. (The only change being that he will be behind the desk in the oval office, that's pretty much it) - snotrokit, on 07/09/2008, -0/+10Brilliant! I am doing the same.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -2/+12"Hillary Clinton voted with 25 other Democrats against cloture (strangely, Clinton originally voted AYE on cloture, and then changed her vote to NAY; I'm trying to find out what explains that)."
Well Glenn, I would guess that the woman still wants to make a case for the nomination. She ducked the February vote on FISA immunity, and certain it would pass today without her support, took up the cause of Obama's disenfranchised supporters. I don't agree with Obama's stand but Hillary's flop on this issue stinks too. - jbenson2, on 07/10/2008, -1/+10So what are you going to do about the #1 supporter of FISA - Barack Obama?
- CrazedLeper, on 07/10/2008, -0/+9There is no difference between Democrats and Republicans. There *may* have been many decades ago but they are all compromised by their love of money and fear of the fascist regime which has already taken over the US. You are all about to find out what would have happened if the Germans had won WWII.
- Badandy127, on 07/10/2008, -2/+11I'm not going to vote FOR someone who won't respect my civil rights. I don't care anymore if he's the lesser of two evils, I will not stoop so low as to give a candidate who has helped take my constitutional rights away my vote in an election.
- custangro, on 07/10/2008, -4/+13Bob Barr 2008!
http://www.bobbarr2008.com/ - nageroc, on 07/10/2008, -1/+10I find it sad that Americans care more about their right to bear arms than this. Take away your rights and freedoms? Sure...take away your guns? Pry it from your cold, dead hand. Where are your priorities, America?
What is even sadder is that I see Canada heading in the same direction, and there are plenty of people here that will happily give up our rights and freedoms today.
So long democracy, it was nice knowing you. Hello Corporate Despotism. - whytheam, on 07/10/2008, -1/+9The Fourth Amendment:
The right of the people to be SECURE in their persons, HOUSES, PAPERS, and EFFECTS, against UNREASONABLE SEARCHES and seizures, SHALL NOT BE VIOLATED, and NO WARRANTS SHALL ISSUE , but upon probable cause, SUPPORTED by OATH or AFFIRMATION, and PARTICULARLY DESCRIBING THE PLACE TO BE SEARCHED, and the persons or things to be seized.
If the CIA and NSA are doing there jobs right there would be no need for FISA - str1fe, on 07/10/2008, -0/+8http://www.petaimg.com/uploads/1215762944.jpg
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -0/+8How in the hell would that make any difference? Not voting means nothing.
- KennMac, on 07/10/2008, -0/+7Jim Webb? Seriously? I knew Obama voted for it... This is so depressing.
- davidg11, on 07/10/2008, -0/+7And one of our WA state senators keeps trying to get that damned solar tax credit extended which expires in 2008.
WTF congress. PASS THE DAMN ***** SOLAR TAX CREDITS AND GET ENERGY INDEPENDENT ALREADY! - Pissoff, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7Sweet idea
- PabloMac, on 07/10/2008, -0/+6And now there's no Vaseline left for the rest of us.
- sajorojas, on 07/10/2008, -0/+6Well, we could always vote for Ron Paul who is against every single one of these fascist laws.
Oh wait, no we can't. You ***** wanted McCain and Obama, who should run on the same ticket actually.
