- brokekneck, on 10/12/2007, -15/+34LoL!!!! Its soo funny to see all this Censorship.. You think Dr. Paul might be on to something they dont want us to know or have?
- rinkuhero, on 10/12/2007, -13/+28This is pretty seriously disturbing. I'm normally not one to believe in media conspiracy theories, but this combined with ABC not including him in the poll but including all the other candidates is pretty scary.
- DetroitAdam, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13This isn't a tech site.
- Shaman760, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Yahoo has always been a proponent of censorship. Matter of fact, they got a Chinese citizen thrown into jail for a stretch by turning over records to the government.

***** Yahoo. - ecorona, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17I think we need to come to reality here. On TV it is easy to censor because there are so many filters. The powers that be are foaming at the mouth at how pissed they are that such a level of control is more elusive on the internet. Specifically websites like Digg. I suspect major websites censor certain types of comments/articles in a standardized fashion. This is why it is so important that websites like Digg exist where everything is submitted and voted on by users. This is also why it is so important that Digg (after taking a beating) eventually stopped censoring.
With the exception of submissions that would change the face of the website (like removing porn submissions), censorship is a no no on Digg and let's make sure it stays that way. - dmightx, on 09/21/2008, -14/+25wow so much censorship from the mainstream media its sad.
- nestafett, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14I would mark it as spam if it was a question like why is ron paul not considered a front runner.
but since the question was someone asking yahoo why he wasn't on there list and they didn't answer but instead deleted it, it gets dugg up from me.
anytime a large corporation like that does something like this it should be brought to public attention how manipulative the media and corporations really.
I support this story and i dont like what the guy stands for at all, to me its about what the company did and not about him.
(even more bad since yahoo is an internet company and they dont realize the support he has on the net, seems like they should be promoting him therefore promoting the power of the internet)
and grassroots is what i think digg is about. the spreading of ideas and news. democracy now is "grass roots". - Turbosc, on 10/12/2007, -9/+19Digg has been a rollercoaster as of late. First the censorship of HD-DVD, then the balls to stand up to the system, and now a warm tingle inside my heart because the Internet is unstoppable.

@polistud, PATSCRU, coolestkidalive, etc.
This isn't 'spamming' by any definition. Most of the front-page stories on digg about Ron Paul are DIFFERENT, specific topics—the only thing they often have in common is a story of unfairness toward Ron Paul.
Many are about censorship on sites, and yet here is polistud (and many others on the various stories) encouraging more socially-driven censorship and rationalizing it by mis-labeling it as spam. It is this attempt at intimidation that the "Ron Paulites" oppose.
If may be comfortable to think there are just a few people behind the Ron Paul effect. That's what the media wants you to think. The truth is that statistically, there are at least 3-6 million Ron Paul supporters nationwide (if you believe the 'conservative' offline polls), and therefore there is bound to be a substantial group on digg and other sites too. Like it or not, there is simply broad support for Ron Paul (and Mike Gravel) on digg and other similar sites.
_ - PATSCRU, on 10/12/2007, -21/+26maybe spam is against yahoo's terms of service.
- spacebetween, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11If you seriously think the media deliberately keeps time away from certain people because those people are "whackos," then you are deluded.
- Nocturnal, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10You're a douche. Ron Paul in 2008. I don't care if this is not tech related. This site has a section for POLITICS. Can you read? Do you not see POLITICS?
- MikeCampo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7If you don't like it, bury it. No one is forcing you to look at this or spend your time commenting on it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6They are all betting on their guy and suppressing any outside bets because none OF THEM want a third guy
- PaulLev, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Old media like ABC don't get today's online world. You'd think the newer media like Yahoo would, but when they get that big, the same kind of frightened thinking sets in. Here and here, a few operations are seeing the light (like CNN, in its decision to make debate footage available). But it's a slow process. http://www.paullevinson.net/archives/cnn_seeing_the_light.phtml
- PaulLev, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4You're 100% right. Don't let these people who can't see through the status quo stifle you.
- alysnyder, on 10/12/2007, -9/+12I was banned from Yahoo! answers. Can you believe it??
http://bartschs.blogspot.com/2007/05/ya-who.html - MikeCampo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Digg may not be the end all be all, but at least it is the first step towards stopping censorship and all the other ***** that happens in our society. Sure, people have tried in the past, but it It really does feel like the internet is going to bring a change to some things. The best way to fight this crap is to inform people and we all know that the media hides the truth at times. What better way than a non censored news website?
- jeffiek, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10@colincornaby
" massive shadow organization attempting to censor news "
I don't consider ABC to be a shadow organization. And they weren't attempting. They were caught red-handed actually doing it. TEN people on national television. ABC ask "Who won?" and then lists NINE people.
What matters? Which name was left off? Or the fact that MSM committing fraud(worst case) or being incompetent(best case)? Is that what you want?
(oops - meant as reply) - Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9Gravel isnt in Yahoo's Full Coverage either.
- DetroitAdam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Why do you get so mad? Nocturnal?
- ThomasPaine23, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3 tehpoutine,
yes you caught me, my submissions ARE filled with stories related to Paul and Gravel. Why?
Because the "Media" is deciding who is a viable candidate. For Christ's sake we have a Congressman
AND a Former SENATOR both running. Both are strongly against the war. I have yet to hear any strong remarks from the "mainstream" candidates about the war, just some trite blather like "um yeah I voted for it, but now I'm kinda against it yada yada yada."
What pisses me off is all of these places either purport to be NEWS organizations OR claim to be offering "FULL" coverage and then omit candidates. That is not Democracy nor is it PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISM!!! When They stop being elitist shills, I'll stop complaining. Fair Enough ???? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Wow! We never knew about that!
- DetroitAdam, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Google too shaman. Get off of Digg and promote peace in the streets. Digg is bought and paid for. It's done, indeed. Let them be nasty. Let them be dishonest. The Truth never sleeps. Mafias and NWO shills will never break us. We SHALL Rise from the Ashes...
Peace from Detroit,
See in Unstructured Style Ways! - viggooo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Vote Ron Paul
- ryandsp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2DetroitAdam,
"Why do you get so mad? Nocturnal?"
Think you got that on the wrong thread friend. Just let this thing flow and let it be. You're on a roll it seems in the information war tonight but try not to be the madman on this scene baby. Happy's Pizza, remember? :)
Peace A- looking out.
Ryan - schnuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2crazy - media censoring so far only known from third world & corrupt banana republics now available in the "land of the free".
what's next? - DetroitAdam, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Hit our profile and you'll find the link if you want it. 9 will probably come an bury it but oh well we can still have a good discussion tomorrow. Don't you worry about us we'll be here like Happy's Pizza 'cause it's all good baby and they can't stop us now!
Peace from Detroit... - pc93, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Halt censorship. Yahoo! censors and doesn't give Ron Paul or the people the time of day. One wonders what they are afraid of. Ron Paul for President!

Apparently their old argument that he is not popular enough wasn't working.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3They are all trying to get rid of the people that NEITHER SIDE invested any of their huge CORPORATE DONATIONS in.
simple. - ThomasPaine23, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2hdtvdust
Irrelevant whether they win or not. Like I said, 15 minutes of their time to add Paul and Gravel on their candidates list and I'm happy. Simple fix. They have no business deciding who is viable. End of story. - qednick, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This is why they're blocking Ron Paul:
http://www.surfingtheapocalypse.tv/f2f.php
He's featured about half way through the documentary. If you haven't watched this yet, you should. It'll at least raise an eyebrow!! Please pass it on to everyone you know. Ron Paul is one of a handful of a few Republicans, Democrats and Libertarians who want to abolish the Federal Reserve (owned by the Bank of England - not the US government!!!!) and illegal federal income taxes on YOUR wages!!
You can either stand up and support these people or sit back and let Exxon Mobil and these bankers decide the next president. - metrodextrous, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4it isn't just digg. stop thinking that digg is the center of the universe. i am sitting here with two 65-year olds talking about ron paul and how he is going to change the world.

sorry, there was a space in the link. The question was respectful, and valid IMO.
I answered it, which is why I checked back. - wvernon1981, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Ron Paul is now on the Yahoo Presidential Page
- schnuck, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"...about the candidate no one has ever heard of."
at least, i suppose, not under the rock you live. - tehpoutine, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Submitter's history is FILLED with ron paul articles, he is spamming digg with this crap, same with most other Gravel/Paul articles. I think this is just ad new campaign advertising spam group working for each of the parties.

- fuegosecret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Republicans are irrelivant thanks to the current administration. OK, maybe its possible there will be a Republican 1 termer, but unlikely... but except for that, without fail, after every 2 termer Republican follows a Democrat in the White House. The country gets sick of lies and political crime, elects someone honest, then forgets why they did by the following election.
- ryandsp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Inside job at yahoo? Just kidding.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0You are SO delusional if you thinkg Digg can make a difference anywhere but ON Digg.
Digg has ZERO power. No one outside of Digg fears a bunch of whiny little bitches like you. Especially uneducated, immature delusional brats. - joaob, on 10/12/2007, -11/+9@colincornaby
The scary thing is that theres still well over a year left.
Either this guy runs out of money and drops out of the race....or I stop using digg. - ewrabbit, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Although I hold shares of Yahoo stock, I think we need to teach Yahoo! a lesson! Do I hear Digg revolt?!?! What are the suggestions/ideas?
- ripple123, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6Don't worry man, looks like theres plenty of shutting up going on already.
