- AntiMud2008, on 08/31/2008, -19/+139McPain is my new term for the McCain - Palin ticket.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -16/+112John McCain is out of touch, which is a nice way of saying he's senile as all hell.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -15/+103The guy is fried. Both his wives were in beauty pageants - now his VP pick? The man is a nut case.
- cate508, on 08/31/2008, -17/+100Frightening, isn't it. So much for protecting us from the "biggest threat to our future"-- radical islamic extremism. That is, if McSame was (God forbid) president and kicked it, we would have someone with zero foreign or domestic policy experience leading the charge. Shame on you, John McCain. This pick is unforgiveable.
- ScienceDoc, on 08/31/2008, -6/+74What does it say about this Country that about 40 percent say they would vote for this fool? What are those people thinking?
- Echota, on 01/05/2009, -16/+84No McCain is Not mentally fit to be President.
- JenniferInMO, on 08/31/2008, -6/+70During the first part of the video embeded in the piece I thought he was just not a very good speaker and that normal people make slips like that too, then it went on and I do have some concerns about his mental and physical fitness to be President. I have always been concerned that his drive for power mixed with his anger problem could be signs of PTSD or other mental illness or even personality disorder. He has not made his military record available for inspection. For a man who tauts his military record I find it strange that he hasn't allowed his record to be released.
I also think that ALL candidates for Pres and VP should have physicals and psych evaluations. The military, intellegence positions and many private sector positions require such exams why not have our potential Commanders-in-Chief submit to an exam? - Tophillious, on 09/01/2008, -11/+68How ***** up do you need to be about making a joke about bombing Iran?
- jannike, on 08/31/2008, -10/+66I get scared - imagining them winning. Hope this issue wil be kept in focus.
- alapoet, on 08/31/2008, -14/+67No.
No, he is not. - mieprowan, on 08/31/2008, -4/+50It isn't about thinking. It's about sticking it to the liberals and the treehuggers and the gays, and keeping women in their place. It is about being a Christian fundamentalist, which has never been about thinking. It is about believing that it doesn't matter what you do or who you hurt in this life, if they aren't following the Rules; as long as you yourself follow the Rules, so your immortal soul will be saved. Because that is all that really matters, your immortal soul.
Like any arbitrary philosophy that makes terms only in terms of itself, this one is extremely dangerous, as we've seen, and will continue to see. - inactive, on 09/01/2008, -12/+55***** doesn't even know how many houses he owns. How is that possible?
- GregFD3S, on 09/01/2008, -13/+55McCain is not mentally fit to dress himself in the morning.
- falser, on 09/01/2008, -16/+53But he's mentally fit to be a Republican.
- aussiejan, on 08/31/2008, -5/+37They're not.
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -11/+39He chose as his VP a former small-town beauty queen from *****, Alaska who married a snowmobile racer and has a pregnant teenage daughter...
You decide whether he's mentally fit. - jfkdem, on 08/31/2008, -18/+47Mine are McShame - and McLostit.
- aussiejan, on 08/31/2008, -3/+31I think they are asking the question seriously. McCain has shown many signs of early dementia.
- richirwin, on 09/01/2008, -5/+30The guy doesn't know how many homes he owns, what kind of car he drives, how he voted on key issues, and now we see his "decision making" in action with this Palin pick.
Not only is he not mentally fit to be President, he's not mentally fit to remain a Senator. - RevAradia, on 09/01/2008, -6/+30Is it just me or does anyone else think that McCain is looking like a dirty old man that gave Sarah the job with the singular qualification that she's a babe? (shrug) Maybe it's just me.
- jfkdem, on 08/31/2008, -6/+29In all seriousness, this question needs very careful examination before we get any further along in this process.
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -2/+25Personally, I'm of the opinion that anyone capable of getting themselves elected to office is clearly not mentally fit to hold that office.
- TheSabre, on 09/01/2008, -16/+38As of now, 1/3 of the front page is DailyKos and HuffPo. Do people not understand that they are nothing more than blogs and opinions? We need some actual NEWS on this site.
- JenniferInMO, on 08/31/2008, -5/+25McPow and McCongeniality
- lechechocolate, on 09/01/2008, -11/+31WTF is going on with Digg today?
- drqshadow, on 09/01/2008, -17/+35Ha, I saw this headline and immediately thought "Huffington Post" before I saw the byline. Come on, guys, you're getting as bad as Fox News.
- Avaseal, on 09/01/2008, -2/+19Your puns are cheesier than Cheetos
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -3/+19Seriously, every other story on Digg today is from Huff
- Rixar13, on 09/01/2008, -7/+21Anyone who would even consider voting for McSame as Bush is either "Rich or Stupid".
- earryan, on 08/31/2008, -6/+19just cause you are a woman doesnt mean you represent all women everywhere. saying that you speak for all women is just stupid.
your response ot my statment was essentially "NO, I'm a woman." - schoate09, on 09/01/2008, -0/+13The airports will be full of us. Seriously, if these ***** get elected AFTER GWB ***** up the last 8 years, I don't wanna be surrounded by the ***** that elected them.
- sulthernao, on 09/01/2008, -9/+21Here are some statements from Obama, *****.
"I have said before and I will repeat again: People's families are off limits," Obama said. "And people's children are especially off-limits. This shouldn't be part of politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as a governor and/or her potential performance as a vice president. So I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. You know my mother had me when she was 18 and how a family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn’t be a topic of our politics."
"I am offended by that statement. There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us," he said. "Our people were not involved in any way in this, and they will not be. And if I thought there was somebody in my campaign who was involved in something like that, they would be fired."
"Some Republicans have already insisted that the Obama campaign is behind the rumor-mongering about Sarah, Bristol and Trig -- although in our experience the campaign has not pushed the story AT ALL, in fact they have been encouraging reporters to focus on the issues of difference between the two candidates rather than personal stories." - marabout40, on 08/31/2008, -4/+16Not to mention the scandal surrounding her mayorship of Wasilla in 1997 when she fired the city's police chief and the library director without warning, accusing them of not fully supporting her efforts to govern. Irl Stambaugh and Mary Ellen Emmons said letters signed by Palin were dropped on their desks telling them their jobs were over as of Feb. 13 and that they no longer needed to report to work. http://hatthief.blogspot.com/2008/08/vetting-sarah ...
The woman has a history of abuse of power. After the last 8 years, how can we even tolerate the mere thought of having this woman in a position of power in the White House?
Wake up America! Wake the f*@ up! - AverageJane2, on 09/01/2008, -0/+12locojones, McCain was born to parents in the service, and is not disqualified as such. And, damn you for making me defend him.
- KSUdesigner, on 09/01/2008, -6/+18So does every other president, that's why we tax corporate profits to begin with. Obama just wants to increase their rate because the Bush admin cut the rates, which has had an obviously negative effect on the federal budget. Don't tell me corporations can't afford it either, because us middle class citizens have been struggling just to pay our bills for years. A middle class citizen shouldn't have to worry about whether to buy gas or pay rent. Middle class used to mean that you never had to worry about paying your bills, they were always paid, and you had a decent amount leftover at the end of every month.
If these companies are opposed to tax increases then I suggest a mandated salary increase to all employees. The middle class is quickly becoming the lower class, while all the people sitting atop the corporations we work for are just filling their wallets from our labor.
Also, I love how any other time diggers would be screaming about how much they hate corporate America, yet when there's the opportunity to make them pay you stick up for them. - TVarmy, on 09/01/2008, -1/+13Aussie: We're not really getting much direct contact with McCain. It's hard to say. It'd be interesting to see a doctor McCain has never met before do some tests and see if McCain is mentally sound.
- marabout40, on 08/31/2008, -7/+18Moral authority? You really are out of touch. The woman is currently under investigation in her own state for lack of moral authority.
I thought only Americans liked to tout their ignorance as if it was some badge of honor. - Echota, on 01/05/2009, -7/+18You are out of touch and uninformed.

Do I have to go there with McCain? Yeah I know he was a POW!
But thats it.....McCain has nothing else!
And for the recored, I,as a female, have been a POW of McCains for to damn long!
He goes against all women issues and so does his MILF! - NelsonR, on 09/01/2008, -3/+14Dementia is not pretty. Hitler had the support of most of the Germany people prior to his invasions, what makes McCain any different. Harsh but true, wtf are we doing in Iraq. Now factor in the Iraqi government having billions in savings in our banks while we squander and print funny money, our men dying, our men wounded for life, FOR WHAT? If that isn't craziness I do not know what is.
- MommaKatz, on 08/31/2008, -6/+17Moral authority my a$$ - she is under investigation for conflict of interest in not just the case involving her former brother in law (who'd already been reprimanded according to the Alaskan Police) and firing of the Public Safety Commissioner for NOT following through on her demands, but also for conflict of interest in two seperate cases involving big oil, one invovling violation of endangered species protection, and her actions involving breach of federal environmental protections. Her stint as Mayor of Wasilla left a $3000 per resident debt in a tiny town of 6800 people. Now it's come out that in addition to the debt she left behind she turned a small rural town into an urban vision without any plan for sustainability and the city of Wasilla is facing huge financial problems as a result. That doesn't even begin to touch the shady dealings on the Wasilla Sports complex, the tax payer money wasted on not one but two protracted suits against rightful owners of the land, and the ongoing emminent domain case that will be resolved by the Alaskan supreme court. Oh, did I forget her interest in cencorship at the library?
Yeah, moral authority in spades. NOT! - consciousman, on 02/23/2009, -8/+18Mccain is going to regret picking Palin as VP...
- sugarazor, on 09/01/2008, -0/+10-Experience that he's completely disowned himself from. Honestly, is there a major McCain issue that he hasn't flip-flopped on in the last two years?
-Everyone has judgment. McCain's is poor. He showed poor judgment in wanting to invade Iraq, he showed poor judgment by saying we could be there for 100 years. He showed poor judgment by appointing the prom queen to be his vice president. He showed poor judgment by trying to institute this "gas tax holiday" that would do absolutely nothing. He's shown poor judgment by saying he will take away a woman's right to choose. He showed poor judgment on wanting to make Bush's tax cuts permanent after voting against them twice. He showed poor judgment by saying he'd vote against the immigration bill that he wrote.
-He doesn't really appeal to Christian voters. Palin does, but McCain does not... the hardcore evangelicals were not happy about McCain, but many of them will take him over Obama since they think he is a Muslim.
-Barack Obama has received more donations from veterans than John McCain.
-Celebrity? You mean like a person who has hosted Saturday Night Live or appeared in the film "Wedding Crashers"? Because that would be John McCain.
-When's the last time McCain reached across party lines? Holding hands with Lieberman doesn't count.
-Not a right-wing nutcase? Have you seen John McCain in the last two years? Between the pandering, exploiting his time as a POW and employing Karl Rove, it's safe to say he's a right-wing nutcase.
Yes, just like all those Americans with a billionaire trophy wife and seven houses. - aussiejan, on 08/31/2008, -3/+13As a Canadian and a human being, I am embarrassed by your comment.
- MindTrigger, on 09/01/2008, -0/+9I live in a small bubble in California where there is a ***** of money and jack-republicans. A 'jack Republican' is someone who votes for whoever the Repub candidate is regardless of any other fact. They know *nothing* about either candidate, or any of the issues in question. I know many people here who plan to vote republican, and trying to get them to justify McCain is like pulling teeth. They have no valid reason for voting for him, other than that's what they're supposed to do. They know nothing about him. What they do know though, is that Obama is black.
One thing I have learned throughout this process is that RACISM is alive and well in this country. I can't tell you how many people I have heard say "too bad he's the wrong color" or "he's gonna end up shot" around here. And these are people I used to think were level headed individuals, some of whom I call friends. Young people, with young families. Given what I have seen during this election so far, I don't think anyone has the slightest clue how big racism still is in this country, because it's being kept behind closed doors. It makes me ill to even think about it. I'm sure it's a reflection of where I live, and the type of people it usually attracts, but still. It's a disgusting display of ignorance. - AverageJane2, on 09/01/2008, -1/+10Let's not forget, he's also said Palin's his soul mate. Of course, he doesn't actually know her though...
- mmilton, on 09/01/2008, -14/+23All of this crap about Palin and McCain is going to backfire on us.
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -2/+10Never forget who supported this failure, don't let them distance themselves from him. Whining about Libs and Dems and Clinton and Obama's Pastor and gay sex, while offering nothing of substance - and most notably - no defense for the lying little sack of ***** from Texas they shackled us with!
America's enemy is the idiot who IGNORED that Bush lied to us about Iraq, IGNORED that Bush defends treason, IGNORED that Bush was asleep at the wheel on 9/11, IGNORED that Bush had already blundered our war effort in Iraq, IGNORED that Bush still tries to link Iraq and 911, IGNORED that Bush was going to run amok with our Constitution, IGNORED his continued policy that fuels extremist groups and floods intelligence agencies with "false positives" from illegal wiretapping operations—among other things and still voted to re-elect this miserable failure.
The enemy from within has perpetuated this death and devastation. Don't forget it.
It is because of a bush voter and a McCain supporter that the country is in the atrocious position it is in today. - inactive, on 09/01/2008, -12/+20Candidate for “Vice” President Sarah Palin has finally fessed up that her unmarried teenage daughter has been running around town having unprotected sex. Truly, the Lord Jesus is showing us two things by this sad example of teenage harlotry:
1. That a mother who also engages in sexual activity outside of a traditional, Christian marriage (if you doubt this, check out the birthday of Sarah’s first son — April 20, 1989 — and the date she and her handsome hubby eloped — August 29, 1988!) sets an appalling example for her own children. Indeed, studies from Focus on the Family have proven that harlot mothers wind up with harlot daughters 93.4% of the time. Similar studies by the Concerned Women for America have concluded that these poor, impressionable girls learn to strut, show inappropriate décolletage and beguile like pushy prostitutes in their very own living rooms.
2. And a mother who values her career (to the point of abandoning a newborn to campaign 24-7 for a new job in another state) above raising her precious family should not be surprised when she FINALLY steps back inside her family home (if she remembers the address) to find that it has been filled with bastards in her shocking absence!
And, honestly, what is happening to our once-godly country when REPUBLICANS are getting all giddy over a unrepentant harlot? I expect Demoncrats to go for that nonsense, but not the party of God. Please join me in praying to the Lord Jesus that Mr. McCain kick this trash to the curb!
http://bettybowers.com/betty4president/?p=115 - h0ser, on 09/01/2008, -2/+10My idea for presidents to take a test to become eligible is an option that will weed out these types of people. A lawyer must take a test to become a lawyer, a doctor must take a test to become a doctor, why not a president take a test to become a president? Bush would have failed and I'm sure McCain would fail as well.
