Whether you agree with the war in Iraq or not, hopefully we have learned our lesson about leaving a country in shambles from the Soviet-Afghan war. If you think living in America is bad, then what do you think it would be like to live in Iraq? Let them have their surplus.
- tucson27, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1We need to stop sending money, military personnel and equipment paid for by US taxpayers NOW. We also need to stop paying the bill for all the "contractors" like Haliburton and tell them to bill the Iraqis. How long do you think the Iraqis will continue to pay these leaches?
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Look, we already paid billions to kill all those civilians and burn their cities down to the ground. How the hell can they expect us to pay again to re-build them? It's just not reasonable.
- muckemuck, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Will Iraq help rebuild our bridges? We're running a huge deficit to rebuild theirs. oh... but we're rebuilding theirs because we bombed theirs.
- duggtodeath, on 08/06/2008, -1/+1$79 billion surplus? Time to invade Iraq...oh wait.
- lisa3711, on 08/06/2008, -1/+1Typical- all the money is being given to Bush's "Library" after he is president.
- MercedRocks, on 08/06/2008, -1/+1Guess "big oil" isn't the only one making money from high oil prices....
