Iraq Gen. Slams Bush In New Book: "Led America Into Blunder"
huffingtonpost.com — Getting lost in the media furor over McClellan's memoir is the new autobiography of retired Lt. Gen. Ricardo S. Sanchez, the onetime commander of U.S. troops in Iraq, who is scathing in his assessment that the Bush administration "led America into a strategic blunder of historic proportions."

- jeannewman, on 06/02/2008, -2/+8I just saw this article...via the Huff. Post. I'm sure it'll catch on. I think people are awaiting news of Sen. Kennedy and super delegates committing. This is another blow to McCain, IMHO.
- PolishLogic, on 06/02/2008, -8/+5That strategic blunder being: waging a politically correct war, rather than traditional one.
- cquinnd, on 06/03/2008, -2/+6The strategic blunder was having no strategy.
- kingofinternet, on 06/03/2008, -1/+1this is one elaborate polish joke right?
- Kizilbash, on 06/03/2008, -3/+2So, with over a million dead Iraqis, you still feel the gloves need to come off?
- PolishLogic, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2Do you have a confirmed body count? Because just a month ago people were saying 600,000 or 90,000 or 150,000. Now you're saying 1,000,000 have been killed by us.
So which one is it, and why is that particular count unmistakably correct?
- PolishLogic, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2Do you have a confirmed body count? Because just a month ago people were saying 600,000 or 90,000 or 150,000. Now you're saying 1,000,000 have been killed by us.
- chicofaraby, on 06/03/2008, -3/+2How stupid do you have to be to think that murdering a million civilians is "politically correct?"
- harrisbradley, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1okay, a million is a very large number. I know you're trying to emphasize, but that is over doing it way too much. Plus, I think he was referring to decision not to declare war. (not that I am completely disagreeing with you though. You make a good point.)
- PolishLogic, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2Please site your absolute confirmed number of one million civilians killed by the US.
- chicofaraby, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Considering you don't know the difference between cite and site I seriously doubt that you will understand this but here:

- DeadElephantORG, on 06/03/2008, -2/+6So THAT'S what is meant by "Support our troops"! Send them, armor-less, into "a blunder".
nice. - fancypantscz, on 06/03/2008, -2/+3Iraq war == poorly executed bad idea
Time and again noble soldiers were ordered to do the impossible by people who didn't have a clue.
Unlike McClellan, I think Sanchez deserves to make money from his book. - kingofinternet, on 06/03/2008, -2/+3Cue the ad hominem attacks
- keymanjim2, on 06/03/2008, -0/+6Take that you ad hominen.
- jeremyduffy, on 06/03/2008, -2/+1I don't even care who his is or what it's about. If it's from someone in the government and it's anti-bush, I'll dig it.
- keymanjim2, on 06/03/2008, -3/+3Thus is the sentiment of all brain dead liberals. I doubt you read the book much less the article.
- Navicerts, on 06/03/2008, -2/+3I bet jeremyduffy is keymanjim2's alternate account...
- keymanjim2, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4We are not schizophrenic.
- jeremyduffy, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Yes we are
- Navicerts, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1class act gentlemen. who says the left and right can't work twoard a common goal?
- Navicerts, on 06/03/2008, -2/+3I bet jeremyduffy is keymanjim2's alternate account...
- jeremyduffy, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1I'm just happy that people who others will listen to will speak out against him since so many others haven't for so long. You're right, I read neither the book, nor the article.

- oldhick, on 06/03/2008, -1/+5How many insiders have to come out with the truth before the die hard right wingers begin to take an honest look at what happened with the Iraq war? From Dick Armitage, to General Jay Garner, to Ambassador Barbara Bodine, to Col. Lawrence Wilkerson (Colin Powell's Chief of Staff), to Scott McClellan, to Richard Clarke, honorable men and women with distinguished careers of life long service to their country have spoken out against the horrible handling of the Iraq war and the miserable performance of the Bush administration.
Now we add to this list with yet another distinguished service man who has dedicated his life to serving his country.
The only response from the neocon right wing so far is to personally smear each and every one of these men. They ignore every argument and every point made and instead seek to attack the personal character of these men whom they once supported. Its shameful, truly shameful. - chicofaraby, on 06/03/2008, -1/+3Another criticism of the way the illegal war was conducted instead the fact that war of aggression is a crime. The attack on Iraq wasn't done badly, General. It was a crime that YOU participated in.
- harrisbradley, on 06/03/2008, -1/+2Annnnd the media will mainly cover the administrations reaction, instead of headlines like "Holy *****, everybody is telling us it's all ***** up!!" like they're supposed to do. When they cover the administrations reaction it always sounds like, "Well he was such a nice guy when we worked together. I think he is unhappy about something, maybe disgruntled. This is now the we know." and it takes the whole impact out of the blow.
