- doctorf1956, on 10/02/2008, -1/+5Isn't any wonder the voters have lost confidence in congress? This money "crisis" is stoked again by a loud mouthed liberal stating that a well known insurance company is on the verge of collapse. Stocks of insurers such as Met Life tanked 17% today and the claim is not true. Dingy Harry is the personification of Chuck (shuckhead) Schumer whose comments caused a run on Indy Mac.
The voters should have much more confidence in the long term profitability of the free market as opposed to having confidence in these silly politicians who have cobbled a bill together replete with "sweetened pork." As one of the investor class which reflects more than 2/3 of us, relying on the free market will in the end be much more profitable as compared to the Democrat "failed policies of the past" such as Social Security. Those of us who have saved in our 401K and 403B plans will benefit and of course when we retire we will have to listen to liberal Democrats scream that its not fair that most were able to save for retirement. Get ready for a new "retirement tax" that will be proposed by the likes "dear leader" Obama (if he wins) on retirement accounts so as to "redistribute" wealth to those who did not plan for their retirement. - inactive, on 10/03/2008, -0/+4I wonder how much bargain stock ol' dingy harry will be buying tomorrow.
- 7papa7, on 10/03/2008, -0/+4Reid has done for the insurance industry what Chucky Schumer did for the banking industry. What a pair, maybe another loud mouth liberal can take down another industry.
- pearcewg, on 10/03/2008, -0/+4I wonder how much money Senator Reid has caused in damages because of his comments?
What is up with Democratic Senators? Chuck Schumer caused IndyMac bank to fail, and now this?
Are they legally immune from Shareholder lawsuits because of these things? - inactive, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3Dems feed the fear frenzy. It's their meal ticket. It is no accident that doom, gloom, fear, and loathing are the Dems stock in trade. Scare the ignorant, make them think they have a right to their petty jealousies, stoke the fire of class warfare. The Dems know what they are doing.
- sduncan000, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2Recall Harry Reid Now. The man is a walking timebomb.
I truly believe he has lost his mind. - keltin, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2
7papa7, you are right on and took my comment from me.
These Democrats are absolute poison to the financial/insurance markets. Pelosi, Franks and Dodd have all done their bit to keep our markets and economy on the edge. It amazes me to think that there are enough hate-filled idealogues in the country willing to let their financial future be handled by these kinds of representatives.
McCain isn't my cup of tea, but at least he is honest, and less likely to do lots of underhanded things (although I surely wasn't a fan of the behind doors Open Door Immigration Bill from last year). - inboxnews, on 10/02/2008, -1/+1"Get ready for a new "retirement tax" that will be proposed by the likes "dear leader" Obama (if he wins) on retirement accounts so as to "redistribute" wealth to those who did not plan for their retirement."
Exactly. I'm calling for an investigation of noBama supporter Dirty Harry Reid.
