http://www.washingtonwatch.com/ - trghpy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16Huh, you'd think getting information from the government would actually involve government web sites...
- smackhero, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13http://ontheissues.org is a good one too. it keeps track of voting records categorized into different issues (environment, education, civil rights, economy, etc.). they also provide good background on the various bills and legislation and keep records of public statements made by different politicians on the various issues.
- ScienceDoc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13It does not include Cheney's Fourth Branch of government.
- johndi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8What exactly are you trying to accomplish? If you are trying to make sure we know you're anti-American, then you've done it. Your xenophobia is noted.
- tomboy501, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Thank you for this link, muhammed. Great stuff!
I had some of these pegged already...but not all. VoterWatch.org is awesome! - sockpuppets, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I thought this was going to lead to the late night joker:
http://www.matthewlesko.com/ - DrTall, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Is this digg.co.uk? Blow it out your ass.
- xister, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Because the guy that's in charge of oversight on these matters thinks that the internet a series of "tubes".
/one reason of many - mattmcm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3If it doesn't say otherwise, it's for the USA - hence the digg.com (not .uk) domain name. Stop making us Brits look like pricks.
- smackhero, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3seriously. the technology of the web allows for unprecedented levels of transparency/public oversight of government. and online e-voting would make local or national referendums easy to conduct and create a truly participatory democracy and an interactive government that is truly in the hands of the people.
i'm sure that many developed nations out there are taking advantage of the growing ubiquity of the internet and web technology, so why is our self-proclaimed democracy still in the stone ages? - LemonDefragger, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I guess the site going down is commentary on the state of our government.
- johnjreiser, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Live or work in New Jersey? The Asbury Park Press has been making several state-wide OPRA (NJ Open Public Records Act) requests for all sorts of data.

Look up who owns property, what it sold for, and if they work for a public institution (school system, state/local gov) how much a person makes and what his or her pension will be. - j.carcinogen, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1http://www.voterwatch.org/
Insanely good site, very interesting just doesn't have much content. - ChayD, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Whoa! just because someone from outside the US made a somewhat pedantic comment about which government the poster was referring to doesn't necessarily infer xenophobia. If someone from Scotland (such as the writer of that comment) wanted you to know that they were anti-American, they'd probably say it straight (based on the Scottish ppl I know, anyway)
- Gella321, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Extreme!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Any open door tour planned for tax payers who want to sit on the $700 toilet seat?
- smackhero, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1i guess we need more geeks in government then =P
- ChayD, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Amazing, there actually is a place called Digg in Scotland.
- Bluto, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I like this site: http://www.fundrace.org/neighbors.php
- johndi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I agree, but there is a pattern of comments I based the comment off of, not just this one.
- AndrewMacRae, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Excellent set of resources in full use at http://www.partisanfreepolitics.com also- http://www.get-involved.org for your daily dose of news
- BigSax, on 10/11/2007, -4/+4Because there were no aliens?
- bakkouz, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2"Insanely Useful"? So useful it'll drive you insane?
- MajorPaine, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Ummm... Probably her boyfriend does.
- rokinroj, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2*****
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3Great, so why can't we get the truth out of them about Roswell?
http://digg.com/space/Deathbed_Affidavit_Creates_New_Interest_In_Roswell_Crash - Hangender, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1getting information from the government...hahah. Ever heard of the Bush administration?
- Scyth3, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Well, this site almost gets my digg just for using "Insanely" instead of "Awesomely" in the title.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Viva la Revolucion!
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -4/+2These sites are great, but they don't tell me the one thing I want to know:
How come we haven't tried to impeach Bush and his cronies yet? - Lightspeed2, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1what about a list of sites that give information to the government? here ill start it: www.google.com
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0Why is Google down?
- prkchpsndwiches, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2Ok; seriously. Anyone else just want to bang the snorg tees chick?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -14/+3Buried as inaccurate for failing to mention which Government I can get information from using these links.
