- Eire105, on 10/31/2008, -2/+10We have to defeat more than Obama on November 4. The dinosaur mainstream media, and all it's bias, had to go down as well.
- nwwlistguy, on 10/31/2008, -3/+10Personally, I cannot support a Presidential candidate who bans the media from asking him whatever questions they wish. Obama has banned the following media outlets from interviewing his campaign: The NY Post, Washington Times, Dallas Morning News, WFTV TV, FOX News, New Yorker, CBS3 and more to come, I'm sure.
If what the Obama campaign is doing is not fascism, what is? - inactive, on 10/31/2008, -2/+8FTA: "# In a 1996 study of 1,037 journalists, the respondents identified themselves as liberals 4 times more frequently than as conservatives. Among journalists working for newspapers with circulations exceeding 50,000, the ratio of liberals to conservatives was 5.4 to 1.[41]
# In a 2001 Kaiser Family Foundation study of media professionals, the ratio of self-identified liberals to conservatives was 4.2 to 1.[42]
# In a 2004 Pew Research Center study of journalists and media executives, the ratio of self-identified liberals to conservatives was 4.9 to 1.[43]
# In a 2005 University of Connecticut study of 300 journalists, the liberal-to-conservative ratio was 2.8 to 1.[44]
# In a 2005 Annenberg Public Policy Center poll of nearly 700 journalists, the liberal-to-conservative ratio was 3.4 to 1.[45]
# In a 2007 Pew Research Center study of journalists and news executives, the ratio was 4 liberals for each conservative." - nwwlistguy, on 10/31/2008, -3/+8Agree 100% - the media establishment must be smashed.
- Janinco, on 10/31/2008, -1/+6I bet he won't let plumbers ask him questions anymore either! ; - )
- JTW111, on 10/31/2008, -2/+7Call Captain Obvious!!
- Ironmom61, on 10/31/2008, -2/+6It's actually painful to watch the MSM
- Notsys1, on 10/31/2008, -3/+6It's the Enemy Media, not the Mainstream Media.
- thenekkidtruth, on 11/01/2008, -0/+1So, let's see . . .
1 98% of all major media is entirely owned by only 6 ownership groups.
2 Those groups gave a minimum of 10-1 Republicans/Democrats in the last decade. One group gave to Republicans 400-1 over Democrats.
3 Among the subsidiaries in those groups is the world's largest defense contractor (General Electric), and the 3rd largest defense contractor (Westinghouse).
4 Two of the owners have let it slip that it's their stated intent to aggresively promote a pro-Republican agenda.
"Liberal Media"? Puhleeeeeeeeeeze . . . . - JerichoSam, on 10/31/2008, -2/+3"Most learned people have a relatively open mind, are open to change, hence, are fairly liberal. If more journalists learned their trade in trailer parks and log cabins, I'm sure the media would have a conservative bias."
Wow, that's almost as snobbish as something Obama would say.
Shouldn't you be out trick or treating by now? Be sure to stop at the homes of people earning more than $150K/year, because if Obama wins, they won't be able to afford to hand out candy next Halloween. - obamafacts, on 10/31/2008, -4/+5Here's what the mainstream media will never tell you:
www.obama-facts.org
(Too little, too late - sorry!) - elshizzo, on 11/01/2008, -1/+2Where are your "facts"?? Your statement that those in the hard sciences not being predominately liberal sounds like BS to me. Unless by "hard sciences" you mean CREATION SCIENCE or some other bogus science degree you can get from Jerry Falwell university.
- elshizzo, on 11/01/2008, -1/+2Journalists are debatable, but if you are going to tell me with a straight face that you think Scientists and Professors aren't intelligent people, i'm going to have to question YOUR intelligence
- astyanaxFR, on 11/01/2008, -1/+2If by 'learned' you mean sat through years of liberal indoctrination... you would be wrong.
Proven fact that they're among the easiest to manipulate (along with the least 'educated')
I think you're confusing intelligence with education.
There is no direct correlation. - scruzman, on 10/31/2008, -2/+2sarc off?
if you're serious, you obviously know no one in these three groups.
no more MSNBC for you...one year! - inactive, on 10/31/2008, -4/+3People, let's be realistic. Most learned people have a relatively open mind, are open to change, hence, are fairly liberal. If more journalists learned their trade in trailer parks and log cabins, I'm sure the media would have a conservative bias (case in point: FiXed NEWS).
You can't fight the tide.
You can't MAKE liberals convert to conservatism. You can but HOPE that they are balanced, but stuff falls through the cracks. - astyanaxFR, on 11/01/2008, -2/+1LOL! You obviously don't know any journalists...
As for scientists, those in the hard sciences are not predominately liberal.
But don't let facts get in the way of your opinions. - astyanaxFR, on 11/01/2008, -1/+0Easy to verify. But not something that's going to come up on DU.
Try reading something other than the rantings of the unhinged once in awhile. - elshizzo, on 10/31/2008, -4/+2There's a reason that professors, journalists, and scientists are overwhelmingly liberal - because those jobs require INTELLIGENCE.
- asgardshill, on 10/31/2008, -7/+3Truth hurts, doesn't it Freeptards?
