- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -0/+31She's not even a Vice President and she's already denying people their rights.
- kclaff, on 10/16/2008, -2/+28I attended yesterday's rally in Laconia, NH to be a part of a group from Planned Parenthood, Naral, etc. to protest. I was wearing an Obama pin, of course, and when I was going through the gated area to speak with some people I knew before things got underway, I was wanded by the police there. I guess others may have been wanded as well, I didn't see any, but I knew it was due to my - other than McCain campaign pin - that prompted them to do that. I wasn't carrying anything, so I guess you are a suspect before you actually do anything! This is a small area, lovely but small, and the crowd wasn't very large, but the security was very, very, very prevalent.........not a nice feeling at all! We were very orderly and well behaved in our protest and I got to meet some really terrific people. I will continue to support Obama as I would hate to have live the way that I felt with all of those black shirted, black booted people around just waiting for you to do something that deem unacceptable! Go Obama/Biden 08!
- ScienceDoc, on 10/17/2008, -0/+13I don't think this is legal.
- futrsenator, on 10/17/2008, -0/+13how is this even legal?
- qdkk, on 10/17/2008, -1/+14Palin=Cheney.
- kezia1, on 10/17/2008, -0/+11I'm glad I'm up here in canada saying "What the *****?" and not down there right now...
- mrdeathgod, on 10/17/2008, -0/+11***** you Palin, and ***** you McCain.
- treehugger87, on 10/17/2008, -0/+9Once the extreme right opens their eyes and realize Sarah is costing them the election, she's going to *need* the extra protection. She has nothing to fear from us left-wing peace freaks.
- DougChristian, on 10/17/2008, -0/+9Well, looks like SS isn't such a bad acronym after all.
- SgtAl, on 10/17/2008, -0/+9Just when we thought politics in America couldn't get any worse than it had under Bush/Cheney, McCain had to pick her as his running mate. I seriously think his judgment is impaired.
- DougChristian, on 10/17/2008, -0/+9Wow, you're insane.
First, who says it was a false accusation? You can clearly hear it in tapes on more than 1 occasion. Just because they can't identify the culprit doesn't mean it didn't happen.
And even if it didn't. We're supposed to go along with an armed Secret Service blocking the press because finding the truth could cost us money? Seriously? - Dislolppear, on 10/17/2008, -0/+8Apparently they're blocking thinkprogress's site; it's farked.
- schkura, on 10/17/2008, -0/+7You'll have a lot more company out there if this woman is Vice President.
- MiserableTruth, on 10/17/2008, -0/+6Suppression of rights and Replubican party are becoming synonymous.
- justmarque, on 10/17/2008, -0/+6The actions are reprehensible, but the Secret Service has an interest in keeping those jingoistic comments by Palin supporters off the media airwaves. Obama probably receives 100 death threats per hour!
- DreKor, on 10/17/2008, -0/+5All the media has to do is write about how they're being denied access at these things. It's truthful reporting, not gottcha media. You write the story you see.
- magus_melchior, on 10/17/2008, -0/+4They'll rationalize it by saying that the crowd is subject to the same protection as the candidate.
It's ridiculous and impractical, but given the GOP's blindness, I wouldn't be surprised if they pull out an Addington-style argument. - jmkiii, on 10/17/2008, -0/+4"In other news, Obama's lead ventured briefly into the triple digits today."
- zobs, on 10/17/2008, -0/+4If Palin gets her one day in this country, you can be living under a Nazi regime.
- mepol, on 10/17/2008, -0/+4Since when do they care about legal?
- wacked, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3Whoa! You are giving her WAY too much credit. She's not even close to being that smart! And I hate Cheney AND Palin.
- gwolf, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3The agent's on her detail who have a problem with this should say so. Preventing reporters from reporting is a job for Blackwater not the U.S. Government.
- jmkiii, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2*cost
*The men and women were immediately replenished. - qdkk, on 10/20/2008, -0/+1True, that does seem to attribute too much to Palin, though I think it would be dangerous to underestimate her capability.
- jehan60188, on 10/18/2008, -0/+1speak for yourself, I'm willing to fight tooth and nail for my rights. yours, too!
- jehan60188, on 10/18/2008, -0/+1nah, Nazis atleast wanted to improve their country, Palin just wants to make money for herself and her friends...
- dw4prez, on 10/17/2008, -12/+1After a reporter falsely accused someone of saying, "kill him" I think this is justified. that investigating to find the person costed millions and used valuable men and women.
