- inactive, on 11/12/2007, -8/+104Now why would the Democrats try to reign in this President when they know they will be the next President and able to wield all those new powers they have given him?
I mean, they helped Bush get the powers that made him a tyrant. Why would they try to stop him from having these powers?
I think every single Congress critter that voted for the PATRIOT Act should be impeached, along with Bush, Cheney and Addington. - ZenMojo, on 11/12/2007, -4/+53You break the law, you get punished. That's how you keep people from breaking the law. If you don't impeach because it's not "politically expedient" or "convenient," then you are betraying the public trust.
- MistySteele, on 11/12/2007, -8/+46That Kucinich guy seems pretty impressive. He should consider running for President.
- syroncoda, on 11/12/2007, -8/+39cheny first, then bush! else cheney becomes pres and we're *****!
- inactive, on 11/12/2007, -11/+35Yes please, and add a large FRY to that order....
- hambend, on 11/12/2007, -2/+21You know why your government is full of douchebags? Because of people like you, with your "what's the point" attitude to politics. As long as you keep letting them get away with doing whatever they want, that's exactly what they're going to do.
Yes, politicians are a bunch of spineless, self-serving *****, but that's exactly why impeachment is going to have such a powerful effect. It doesn't matter who ends up in charge, if the last guy is doing ten years then the new president is going to toe the ***** line. At the very least, I guarantee impeachment will mean no war with Iran. - Wildhoney, on 11/12/2007, -12/+30If only they did! Seems to be a lot of people threatening, but not much action. Albeit the current threat looks rather promising but I'm afraid I don't know much about it because I'm not too optimistic that it will be successful.
- sodoh, on 11/12/2007, -5/+22You know these sort of digg posts reminded me of Robin Williams talking about the Police force in the UK. He was saying that because they don't have guns the British police scream "Stop! Or I shall shout stop again!".
Nothing short of a civil war will remove Bush from power. If the US population had any power through normal due process then Bush et al would of been in prison by now. Instead you have Bush veto'ing and rewriting laws passed, ignoring the constitution and the likes of Cheney claiming he isn't even part of the government so he can't be held accountable.
The country is already in part self-destructing. There won't be any action until he has screwed it to the point of no return. - Spamcan, on 11/12/2007, -9/+26They should both be impeached then exiled to Iraq until at least 70 percent of the troops make it back to US soil.
- carpespasm, on 11/12/2007, -0/+16Get your ***** right, I'm republican too asshat. You know, the party that's supposed to be conservative? Conservative is supposed to mean spending no more than we need to in order to make sure our people are safe, we're not spending money we don't have, we don't sell our children (well actually myself as well since I'm pretty young) into debt for stupid ***** we do now, and taking care of people if they can't get care otherwise.
I don't hate the republican party. I'm ***** ashamed. Especially when people assume that anyone that has a problem with it must be "liberal trash". - Dumbledorito, on 11/12/2007, -7/+22Well, of course you remove Cheney first. He's the support for the mouthpiece.
It's a lot like this Team Fortress cartoon, actually:

And for any CIA/NSA/Blackwater whackos in the audience, no, I'm not advocating violence upon the veep, get a grip on yourselves. - inactive, on 11/12/2007, -2/+14In the documentary The Trials of Henry Kissinger it is made clear how Cheney and Rummy usurped power from Kissinger under Nixon and have been in the background EVER SINCE. Think about how evil you would need to be to ***** with _Kissinger_ ! These ***** have done more to swing America to the Corporatist / Fascist Right than most anyone I can think of ... besides maybe Bob Jones (the third, or whatever) and his "University." They preach "smaller government" while all the while subcontracting out to their FOREIGN BASED cronies and lining their pockets. Think of all the position papers that came out of The Council on Foreign Relations while Cheney was the head of it; it's just too horrible to contemplate and makes Kissinger's illegal bombing of Cambodia / help of numerous Latin American dictators seem like childs' play in comparison. These people are _truly_ scum.
- BevansDesign, on 11/12/2007, -1/+12Step 3: Impeach President Pelosi.
- SmokeyBBQ, on 11/11/2007, -4/+15Enough is enough!!! I am so ***** tired of all of these sell-outs! Our politicians no longer represent us at all. It is just plain sickening. Our country is going to ***** because of these people - just look at our dollar as one obvious sign! I cannot wait until next November to cast my vote for a politician who actually respects and upholds our Constitution. We need a drastic change in direction if we are to survive as a nation. It is really that serious people - WAKE THE ***** UP!!!!! - we are headed for an economic collapse that will make the Great Depression look like a cake walk.
- chaosmachine, on 11/11/2007, -5/+16remember, if your election lasts longer than 8 hours, call a doctor.
- ZenMojo, on 11/11/2007, -2/+12Wait...the "LETTER" of the law? If you mean rewriting the laws behind Congress's back and then feigning ignorance and then lying constantly, then, sure, the "LETTER" of the law wasn't broken. Oh, wait, yes it was.
- BelXul, on 11/11/2007, -3/+13People in Wisconsin should start with Sensenbrenner. His name is on the front page of the Patriot Act for sponsoring it.
- ProgressBar, on 11/12/2007, -4/+14Fox News much?
- Groovemaster, on 11/12/2007, -1/+11"You can fool some of the people all the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on.” -- George W. Bush
- Lane, on 11/11/2007, -3/+13No no no, it was lying that got Clinton impeached! Now being completely ignorant of reality and using fear to push your own agenda at the cost of your Americas young men and women, the constitution, and our economy is perfectly legal.
/fact wtf? - spawnfree, on 11/12/2007, -5/+15you do all realize that the bush family and plebs like Cheney are working for a highly organized entity composed of corporate and banking interests?
This organization, or collective (they are not dumb enough to give themselves a name and logo) have enough money and connections between them to organize anything to further their interests.
if you want to do anything to stop corporate crime; a force that can subvert everyone from celebrities to world leaders, then you have to do this:
Corporations behave like greedy psychos the world over, they have to because the shareholders demand profit. This means short term gain plans that usually involve bad decisions in the name of profit. such as dumping waste instead of treating it.
Corporations currently enjoy several human rights, but not all the penalties. Right now CEO's can make ***** decisions, and profit from them, then say they were doing it for the company. Nobody is taking responsibility.
Corporations have to be brought under control.
The only people who can possibly bitch about that are the people who profit from them heavily.
Insatiable appetite for profits is inhuman, and a society based solely on those principals will be hell for everyone outside the corporate elite club.
Blaming politicians and forcing impeachment etc is like brushing a rotten tooth. - scottknick, on 11/12/2007, -1/+10The point of impeachment is not to remove Cheney or Bush from office and replace them with someone better, as much as I would like to see that happen.
The point of impeachment is to set the precedent that an administration cannot pointedly and systematically violate the Constitution with impunity. And that is a message every American of every political stripe ought to be anxious to send. - robphillips, on 11/12/2007, -4/+12I'm getting tired of these ***** impeachment things. Damnit! Don't you people realize that the same people giving him power will be the ones impeaching him?! It's not the citizens doing it like we SHOULD be. Let's get off our ***** assess and march up to the ***** white house and strip him from power! Don't say we "can't do it" or "it's against the law" .. because it's OUR ***** COUNTRY! We can do what "we as the people" want. They are NOT following the rules-- So why should we? I'd be happy to be the one to step into the White House and strip him of power.. but just one.. or one hundred people makes it look like a plot. We need those thousands of people that marched on Oct 27, not just to protest, since that is a step in the wrong direction. Instead we should march right up to the white house. WHAT THE ***** ARE WE WAITING FOR?! I'm getting tired of no voice being heard in the ears of these Political Activists. All they want to do is protest and raise money. They won't listen to anyone that actually WANTS change. We need a ***** revolution. I'm serious about this. If we don't send a strong message-- a REALLY STRONG message.. Than all hope is lost. We need to tell future administrations that the US citizens are watching THEM.. not the other way around.
- carpespasm, on 11/12/2007, -1/+8At least it'd take her a while to get up to speed and by the time she is we'll hopefully have a new president.
- blackjack75, on 11/11/2007, -2/+9Is that a christian cross in your icon?
- Rsulliv1, on 11/11/2007, -3/+10Honestly, what does being a Conservative have to do with the current administration? I truly would like to know your motivation for that comment. Do you vote Republican due to any issues, or is it purely a "root for the home team" situation?
- CaptainSalami, on 11/11/2007, -3/+9They're already trying to attack Iran and start another war. I don't think anyone should wait on this. Another year is too much time to give them.
- nonstop87, on 11/11/2007, -0/+5Russ Feingold for President '08 (only senator to vote against the Patriot Act)
- ToastyMallows, on 11/13/2007, -3/+8$9,115,483,396,366.05 and climbing!
Thanks for the national debt bush! - copyland, on 11/12/2007, -2/+7um...yeah. Bring her on. No one can do worse that bush. No one.
- inactive, on 11/12/2007, -0/+4People make the argument that we need to impeach not to remove them from office, but to set a precedent that this sort of behavior will not be tolerated in the future. However, if the next president is a Democrat, the difference is that if the Republicans win Congress again, they aren't a bunch of simpering pussies, and they'll actually impeach. Even if there's no real reason to want to, they'll find one.
- EvilCan, on 02/26/2008, -2/+6You are a dumbass.
- DashingLeech, on 11/11/2007, -1/+5Well, let's see. It's gotten an impeachment resolution tabled in Congress, it's got citizen groups and local governments passing resolutions in support and demand of impeachment, it's got the National Lawyers Guild unanimously passing a resolution for impeachment and starting a national committee and campaign, ... I think there's far too many things going on in that area to list here. Basically, the grassroots movement is nearing critical mass to make Congress pay dearly if it doesn't do something. It's a bit slow moving, but to be expected with the corruption rampant in all areas of government including congress. So I'd say overall it's doing not too bad. Thanks for asking.
- diecastbeatdown, on 11/11/2007, -1/+5why doesn't this have like 500,000+ diggs?
- Oomsoup, on 11/11/2007, -1/+5Dugg down because you fail to realize that BOTH parties are equally useless.
- parabolee, on 11/11/2007, -2/+6LOL, Hillary is not a communist. She's as close to a neo-con as the current Republicans. Look at her record not at her ***** rhetoric!
You want to support impeachment? Support Dennis Kucinich the ONLY candidate fighting for it. - Groovemaster, on 11/11/2007, -1/+5There's a lot of truth in jest, and I'm pretty tired of hearing that the President of the United States of America was "just kidding when he said that". He's supposed to be a respectable public figure, not an unfunny comedian.
- themastersb, on 11/12/2007, -1/+4How far can they go before any real action happens? Now Cheney is making up fake information about Iran in order to go to war.
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -0/+3Way to paint with a broad brush.
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -4/+7Dumbest comment ever.
- vat0r, on 11/12/2007, -1/+4Fact is both parties offer crap. Politicians (99.999%) are crooks and those who advocate for them are fools.
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -10/+13Anything is better then Democratic leadership. Just look at the mess this congress is in. It's like giving a 2 month old baby a transformer toy and expecting him to do something with it. Democrats are useless.
- osko2052, on 11/11/2007, -2/+5I agree with you 100%. The sad part is most Americans are simply ignorant or just don't care. I think it is the latter. look how many people actually vote. I hope Ron Paul gets in the White House.
- pintomp3, on 11/11/2007, -1/+4so you are gloating that there is no accountability for the thousands of dead US soldiers, the constitution has been violated, and checks and balances have been broken?
- osko2052, on 11/11/2007, -7/+10Do you honestly want whacked out bitch Nancy Pelosi as President?
- billyjack1958, on 11/12/2007, -1/+4My government teacher in high school told us something that I will never forget and it seems especially pertinient in contemporary times. President Eisenhower said "Big business will ruin America." And he was right...
- taquitohater, on 11/11/2007, -0/+3Alright! I hadn't heard the libtard ad hominem attacks in awhile, I was beginning to feel kind of empty.
