- earth2monkieboi, on 10/11/2007, -8/+63...Hamilton advised in the Federalist Papers...an impeachable offense is a political crime against the nation. Cheney's multiple crimes against the Constitution clearly qualify. One of the most succinct essays outlining the high crimes and multiple misdemeanors of this imperial presidency.
Can there be any question left, in our minds, for the immediate need to impeach the VP? Begs the question, "just who is in charge in this White House?" - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+262008 cant get here fast enough, i swear the usa is going to *****
- jmpeagle, on 10/11/2007, -7/+26what makes you think he will recognize the impeachment? If he'll ignore a subpoena, he will refuse to recognize Congress' power to impeach him and the only one who can enforce the laws is the executive branch...kinda like a catch 22.
- Parker307, on 10/11/2007, -4/+18God I hope this gets some traction
- dukeeeey, on 10/11/2007, -15/+28someone kill him
that might get the message across - UnFriendlyFire, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16I hope this website is an ironic parody.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+16"I fully support Mr. Cheney and you should too."
Was that okay, Mr. Cheney? Will you let my mother go now? I beg you. - archistudent, on 10/11/2007, -6/+18Impeachment: always has been just the first step.
Followed by removal from office (and hopefully a very fair amount of jail time). Don't let BushCo get away with their crimes, people. Write your Congressmen, governors, and sitting judges.
Let's not be the generation of people that knew some sh*t was going down, had the opportunity to do something about it, and didn't do a thing... - doctor49152, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12People don't look things up before they blog do they???
A House Resolution (HR 333) to impeach V.P. Dick Cheney was submitted to the House of Representatives on April 24, 2007 by Dennis Kucinich.
It is being looked at by Judiciary Committee at this time. But its still up to the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.to approve before it can be presented on the House Floor.
Failure of the Judiciary Committee and Speaker Pelosi to act favorably would result in the resolution remaining in committee indefinitely, where it would never receive a vote.
So people should be letting Pelosi know what the people want. Just talking about its not going to make it happen people! - DangerCollie, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13So is Roberto going to enforce removing him from office if he is impeached? ROFL! Mr. I Can't Recall will probably forget where the White House is. What a nest of thieves.
- ChayD, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12Less blog, more action.
- craiggroshek, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10***** you. Seriously, ***** you. These men are traitors, and deserve to be hanged.
- ChayD, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10If someone is behaving criminally, if doesn't matter which side of the fence you're on, the law is the law. If Cheney is not upholding the constitution (which, I believe all you US taxpayers have employed him to do), then he should be held accountable for his actions. If the US were a company and one of the board members were breaking the law, he'd be investigated and possibly fired. The actions of this guy could affect the future of your country, and it would be too late to say 'I told you so' if he's allowed to get away with further unconstitutional action. With an attitude like this, you may as well tear up all those documents that protect you and your freedoms right now.
- SenorCardgage74, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Who the hell is Roberto?
- kethraal, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8If he were impeached and convicted, and refused to follow the impeachment, I think that any soldier/secret service man/policeman would be justified in forcibly apprehending him. If he goes rogue and uses military power, just shoot the bastard.
- mithrasinvictus, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Then impeach Bush first and impeach Cheney 5 seconds later.
- bravo1995, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7Any person in the federal government claiming to be above the system of checks and balances (the very ones that were established to protect the country from becoming the authoritarian state we are beginning to see), is a danger to, and must be immediately removed from, the federal government. The Constitution doesn't simply allow it, it demands it.
- oldman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5That argument is weak! I hardly think that in 200+ years, that there isn't a simple solution (probably the chief supreme would preside), Cheney would be removed for the obvious conflict. In any event, the first step is to accuse him of any or all of the crimes, collect the evidence, arrest him, then when actually convicted is when we get to impeach.
- mjhamilton, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4It is part of the presidency to delegate responsibility and just how much he wants to give to those in his cabinet and to the vice president is up to him. When you elect a president you are not just electing him but all those he decides to give power. If we, as a nation, elect someone weak who delegates too much responsibility away, then it is our job as the electorate to change it in the next election. Point being, we need to focus on who will be the next president and just give up on the current presidency. Impeachment now is just a waste of time and resources.
- nick0909, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6I say we bring up the doctors that keep the bastards alive on ethics charges. Didn't they vow to 'do no harm'? I would say by keeping that heart of his pounding away there has been quite a bit of harm done.
- gazwilwah, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3"2008 cant get here fast enough, i swear the usa is going to *****"
You think a change in the whitehouse will actually change anything? hahahahahahha - SuperCUBE, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Actually, it is weak because the Vice President would be 'absent' to attend his own trial. The President Pro Tempore would preside because of this. The Supreme Court wouldn't allow the Constitution to be interpreted in that way, anyways. The Country wouldn't stand for it.
- CourtesyFlush, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7The problem with impeachment, for those of you who are either too dumb to realize or to obsessed to notice, is the DEMOCRAT leadership does NOT want their own ***** hauled out into the open. Hearings would drag the whole nasty clothes hamper with all the stinky poo stains out into the air and the stench would be tremendous. Everybody in DC would lose.
The Dems are just as ***** guilty at starting the war, regardless of whether it was carelessness or just plain stupidity, as GWB. Their quotes are all over the ***** intarweb for anyone with the smallest amount of motivation can look them up. Democrats in power have been quoted as saying they talked DIRECTLY with the CIA.
They don't want you to see their dirty laundry. They would rather the ImpeachNOW drones be all pissy about not getting their way than to have everyone know beyond a shadow of a ***** doubt that they are as guilty as anyone else.
Now digg this down as if it will change reality in any way, you obsessed, dimwitted morons. - badken, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3a) the president doesn't pass legislation
b) the executive order to which you are erroneously referring does not give the president "absolute power". What it does is provide for the executive branch to coordinate the efforts of the executive, legislative and judicial branches, each of which are responsible for their own disaster continuation plans. - mre5765, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3As President of the Senate, Cheney would preside over his own impeachment trial.
Bring it on. - pailsOfGrease, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Nothing. Will. Happen.
- killersperms, on 10/11/2007, -6/+8Oh God.......another impeachment thread.
- COINTELPROAgent, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Jolos = Reported.
- bravo1995, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4What, precisely, is hysterical about the movement to impeach Mr. Cheney? Anyone who values their individual rights should be infuriated with his obvious contempt for the Constitution itself. Every instance mentioned in the article is the equivalent of the Vice-President walking up to every single American and spitting in his or her face.
For that matter, what is so liberal about it? For years, I defended my position as a moderately conservative Republican. Only recently have I realized that the Republican party no longer stands for individual rights and small government. It's been hijacked by would-be authoritarians who only need to continue their mangling of the Constitution to turn our country into a fascist state, much like the ones were are supposedly fighting overseas. - neonrehan, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4honestly there is no precedence for impeachment...no matter how much anyone wishes, it won't happen. I believe the congress men and women have a totally different mentality from the average citizen and are thinking more about strategy at this point. In essence I predict that they are just going to tough it out for another year. There are too many political ramifications for overthrowing just a vice president. No real benefit will be achieved for anyone. Cheney is losing his weight in the country as it is.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4My new slogan: "Clean the Slate in 2008". I say throw them ALL out of office. They're either rotten and corrupt, or chicken-livered weasels with their hands out. This is not the America we believe in.
- HouseofEl, on 10/11/2007, -5/+7Will this impeachment crap ever end? Look it's not that a don't support removing them from office, but you can't do this stuff unless you can prove it. Right now there isn't enough real proof to convict the man. Yes we know what he's done, but we can't prove enough to convict him with a two thirds vote. Otherwise we are going to waste time and money on an impeachment that goes no where. Please learn the process before you scream impeachment again.

liberty cannot be without justice. injustice pardoned by way of inaction is an abetting criminal act.
impeach. - fortezza, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Lets skip the impeachment and go straight to the impalement.
- Yamoth, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Third term isn't really a bad idea. I would very much love another 4 years of Bill Clinton.
- hiphoc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Technically Cheney is right. Executive orders, Presidential directives is an example of the president writing laws. He does not have those powers. It is not in the constitution, it is being done by fiat. Why? The Pres has the entire Gov't behind him. God forbid those jackasses in the Federal agencies realise that the over 11,000 executive orders are unconstitutional. Cheney ignores and follows the Constitution at will. Yes get rid of them all. Colin Powell admiting that he lied about WMD's. Yea if you or I did that we would get the death penalty. This ***** has got to stop, and typing about it on Digg wont help. Pick up the phone or see your Congressional traitor this summer. The jackasses are home!!!

- stonewater, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2there is no controlling legal authority....(al gore when commenting on fundraising from his office) lets see should we impeach hmmmmm.... did we impeach clinton for selling secrets thru loral to china? hmmm for destroying the lives of people at ruby ridge or waco, how about for blackhawk down in mogadishu, or the scandal in serbia and croatia. how about the genocide between the hutus and the tutsi's in somalia, or the change in 96 of of the tax reporting laws clinton signed into office that allowed enron and the electrical scandal in california, or the fact that the only reason we are in this mess is because the freakin congress passed laws that made it illegal for different security org's within the government to share info? about terrorists? or that clinton was offered bin ladin on a platter 3 times and refused... here president bush, here is an economy in shambles, with the highest tax rates ever for us citizens, the military in a sad state, the state dept overunn with corruption, us attorney's general pursuing there own interests as opposed to those of the people, there is a madman out there that will be flying planes in to the world trade center, but we cant tell you about it.....oh and by the way I am stealing all the furniture in the white house offices, your gonna have to re decorate..... you libs get out of my back pocket and fix up your sorry socialist policies. bush and cheney suck, but you were no better...
- maklershed, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Dont worry .. as soon as Cheney gets a bj from an intern he's out of there!

- pailsOfGrease, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Pelosi supported the Patriot Act. Pelosi supported strikes on Iraq. Pelosi said impeachment of Bush was "off the table."
Here's a message: "Impeach or be Impeached, Nancy!" - mithrasinvictus, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Judging by the timing of terrorist threats it looks like they like having extremist republicans in power.
- tbo0, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2How can Pelosi "install" anyone but herself? If the the President and VP are impeached and convicted, she becomes President. The only way she could avoid that is if she were to decline, in which case the president pro tempore of the senate (currently Robert Byrd, D. West Virginia) becomes president. I suppose she could also nominate a Republican and then resign as President, but then she'd no longer be a member of the House, either (since she'd automatically give that up in becoming President).
I don't get it--I point out the constitutional law relevant to impeachment, and I get dugg down because it's not what people want to hear. - BookImDanno, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2You have to love how almost everyone in this 'debate' has conveniently forgotten that Cheney is polling higher than is the democrat led congress. The democrats would be committing political suicide if they ever made even a half hearted attempt to impeach anyone while hanging on to 'dollar bill Jefferson.
Prediction: Orlando will soon be using this topic as more proof that the average Digger has the mentality of toe jam. - Phyter, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Tell me this site is a joke! Someone? Please?
