Every news outlet is reporting on the historical, widespread corruption throughout Illinois and Chicago. How is it that Obama has zero dirt? Yes he kept his distance. But to get anything done, you gotta work with "The Machine".
That leaves three choices:
1 - Obama got nothing done in Illinois
2 - Obama wasn't around long enough to get any dirt on him
3 - Obama used his staff to handle the dirty stuff

For every Blago running in a public office, there's a guy like DeLeo pulling the strings in the background. Most believe DeLeo is really governing this state at the moment, not Blago.
Everyone wants to believe Obama is deeply tied into the machine, and certainly there are connections. It's not like we have Machine Democrats and Rest-Of-Illinois-Democrats. The longer this goes on, the more it looks as though Obama was an active player and not an innocent observer as he would have us believe.
