- elshizzo, on 08/25/2008, -25/+222It's a good thing to see that Hillary grew a soul
- vat0r, on 08/25/2008, -10/+157She's doing what she has to do. If HRC supporters really cared about her like they say they do they'd vote for Obama. Why? Because if they push McCain over the top the rest of the Dem party will never give her another shot at the Presidency. They can say PUMA all they want but McCain will do nothing but welcome them with open arms and then drop them like a bad habit asap.
Suck it up, show your intelligence and do not allow yourselves to be manipulated by McCain and his cronies. - Depthfunction, on 08/25/2008, -3/+105I think I'm starting to understand what McCain and the Republicans are trying to do here with their sudden lovefest for Hillary. It isn't just about using Hillary's criticisms against Obama, but the Repubs are trying to kill two birds with one stone. If Obama loses this election, the Repubs are hoping that the Dems will blame Hillary (which they probably will--I know I will) thus doing great harm to Hillary's chances in 2012.
It's a bold plan. They aren't just trying to defeat Obama, they're trying to defeat Obama AND Hillary.
Unfortunately, many of those "disgruntled Hillary voters" are playing right into their hands. - inactive, on 08/25/2008, -1/+79I've gone on PUMA sites to ask one simple question - What policies do Hillary Clinton and John McCain have in common. That's it, no name calling, or "gotcha" kind of attitude, just that simple question. You know what, I got nothing. Besides being called a troll, or Obamabot, or any other slew of childish names, I could not get one single thought out answer as to how her policies would justify a switch to the McCain party. Completely and utterly ridiculous. And before you digg me down PUMA person, ask yourself that question, and please, give me an answer.
- wwwonka, on 08/26/2008, -2/+69I saw the ad tonight for McCain where the Hillary supporter proudly announces she is voting Republican for the first time this year. Really? You are that sore and that ignorant to miss all of what Hillary was running for and going to McCain whose views on so many of the basics are fundamentally completely different than Hillary's? And why, cause you are still sore over the basic knowledge that the primary process worked? Sad sad ignorance. It's almost come down to rooting for a sports team as opposed to who will run our country....correctly.
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -6/+53Thanks Hillary - But what the hell did you think was going to happen when you were saying all that outrageous ***** in the primaries! If any PUMAs want to argue that she would do better against McCain now, they have a point in the fact that Obama didn't stoop to the level she did and try to completely eviscerate her before the general election. So yeah, thanks Hillary, I guess.
- inactive, on 08/26/2008, -2/+46HELL YEAH!!...HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT 2050!!
- 0Xonox0, on 08/26/2008, -3/+45Now we just need to get "McCain vs. McCain" in a TV add...
- catymogo, on 08/26/2008, -0/+30Hilary supporters who vote for McCain are biting off the nose to spite the face, unfortunately. Not only does it hurt the Dem. party now, it hurts Hilary's chance of running again. A little logic, people.
- rz8472, on 08/26/2008, -3/+30Hillary should do a commercial hitting McCain on womens' issues. It's an incredibly target-rich environment
- Voted against the equal pay amendment, and later justified it by saying that women needed more training, not equal pay.
- Will not contest party's platform for being against abortion rights even in case of rape, incest, or health of the mother
- to his wife: "... at least I don't pile on my makeup like a trollop, you ***** *****." - MikeMitchell, on 08/26/2008, -5/+28WOAH WOAH WOAH now.....we all know succubus's don't grow souls, they steal them.
but on a serious note, good for her! bout ***** time she did something for her team. - inactive, on 08/26/2008, -1/+24Two explanations. Both true:
Explanation 1: Racism
Obviously it's because they are racists. Like all great racists in the history of American politics, they are Democrats, and would rather vote R than vote B.
How do you explain Hillary winning in WV and NJ and RI?
Explanation 2: They aren't party loyalists
There WAS a segment of Hillary supporters who are not Democrats to begin with but just liked her because she is woman. And since she's out of the race, they looked at both candidates and just assumed that McCain was stronger on international issues and more experienced, and they didn't like how Obama treated Hillary, so they are going with McCain.
They simply aren't issue voters but personality voters. Obama has a LOT of these, too, (blacks, young idiots, Oprah fans) but you can't win them all. Romney has his share as well as Huckabee. - Checkerd, on 08/26/2008, -0/+22Wouldn't it be Succubi?
- indiancompanion, on 08/26/2008, -9/+31What is wrong with those Hillary supporters who are going to vote for McCain. Are they trying to prove something? Well, if they do vote for McCain, they better STFU for the next four years of McCain. (btw, I hope that McCain is not president for obvious reasons)
- gsadamb, on 08/26/2008, -4/+24Gotta hand it to Hillary. I don't usually watch network news, but I caught a couple teasers, and first it was Michelle Obama at the DNC, followed by this great soundbyte from Hillary.
Even if Obama wins this year, Hillary's still got a chance in 8 years, considering that Biden's probably too old to run at that point. If she really makes an effort to bring the party in line with Obama now, I could see myself voting for her down the road. - inactive, on 08/26/2008, -1/+18Should I point out that that's not a presidential election year?
- Snake732, on 12/05/2008, -4/+21She needs to sound a little more genuine than this. Her supporters are crazy if they vote McCain. They can blame Mark Penn for her terrible campaign and after the tactics from the Clinton camp that McCain is now using. Her supporters and the media have to move beyond this.
Obama/Binden '08! - Killer57, on 08/26/2008, -2/+18Wait, you're telling me that Hillary supporters aren't voting Obama because of their supporters? What the *****, do they think this is some sort of ***** game? They are going to elect a person to arguably the most powerful office on earth, who's action will affect millions if not billions of people, and they are basing their decision on the fact that the other candidates supporters are arrogant? ARE YOU ***** KIDDING ME?!
- Carv, on 08/26/2008, -0/+13"considering that Biden's probably too old to run at that point"
*Cough John McCain Cough* - tyho, on 08/26/2008, -1/+14Soul.....
It's called damage control when your own words are used against Obama. You're fooling yourself if you believe she ain't still pissed as hell about the primaries. - snagra, on 08/26/2008, -2/+15Binden?
- abajaj2280, on 08/26/2008, -6/+18I really hope this helps unite Democrats enough for us to beat McBush.
- metaliq, on 08/26/2008, -0/+11Should be obvious, but...
inexperienced wildcard > experienced idiot
I'd rather have this vague possibility that the person running the country isn't a moron than knowing that they have experience being so. - Nosferotu, on 08/26/2008, -0/+11I can't decide if it would help or hurt things, but I'd sorta like to see Hillary come out and outwardly disown those supporters. Give 'em a, "Frankly, if you're going to vote for John McCain this year, I don't want your support 4 years from now." or "Quit acting like children." Something to snap them out of their little tantrums.
- moocow1452, on 08/26/2008, -2/+12...pants?
- richlizard24, on 08/26/2008, -2/+12...wife?
- Snake732, on 12/05/2008, -0/+10Make it through that rant just to screw up Biden... I suck.
- stubarwick, on 08/26/2008, -2/+12Ha ha ha you are so original...
seriously did you spend all day thinking up that gem... or did you just get inspired...
you see what you did there... you... oh you... ha ha... he ...ah hoo
*sniffle
you powers of intellect are far superior to any commentator before you... and to use it in this context ha... simply genius.... ha he he ah he
totally irrelevant to the article... but to pull out that sort of spot on remark you must simply be the most intelligent and insightful political commentator... ha he ha
you should work for... for .... for Fox News, as your unique and insightful view could certainly balance out their programming... ha ha he hooo
*sniffle - 0Xonox0, on 08/26/2008, -3/+13...votes?
- metaliq, on 08/26/2008, -0/+10No, YOUR* the cause.
(what the ***** are you trying to say in this post? high horse? wwwonka is absolutely correct, and there was no highhorsing going on... stupid.)
*You're
(sorry to nitpick, but you used the wrong word) - Mononuclear, on 08/26/2008, -0/+10My take is we already tried the experienced idiot for 8 years so why not try inexperienced wildcard? It take a lot of effort to make it much worse.
- wwwonka, on 08/26/2008, -0/+10wow,it's like you are reading a script....
"elitist", really? Do you have a mind of your own or do you just get your information from Fox News and call it a day? - venicerocco, on 08/26/2008, -4/+14McCain will win the election if the Democrats can't unify. If even they can't, how do they expect the country to?
(Voting Obama Biden) - JK1150, on 08/26/2008, -2/+11a mccain victory means she can run again in 2012. it is more than likely she is pulling strings behind the scenes to make that happen while publicly trying to make herself look like a party leader with stunts like this.
- zip000, on 08/26/2008, -0/+9Whenever I see weird CApitalization like that I always look for the hidden COde!
PUMA apparently stands for "Party Unity My Ass."
I had to look it up. - WELLDOITLIVE, on 08/26/2008, -0/+9No you should not
- algaeturd, on 08/26/2008, -7/+16I'm John McCain and I approve the diapers that I'm wearing.
- librarychic, on 08/26/2008, -1/+10Hillary and Obama should do an ad together. The Cable news people would talk about it for a few days... thorw the dogs a bone to keep them busy.
- angers, on 08/26/2008, -0/+9a little generalization; don't you think?
- Suilenroc, on 08/26/2008, -0/+8I, too, once went on a HRC PUMA site. It was absolutely disgusting. I just asked why they would vote for McCain, and they started going off on me like I was Obama himself or something. They called Obama, and me (me, for christ sakes, I don't even know these people), a, and I quote, "Misogynist, Corrupt idiot."
I just shook my head and left. You can't fix stupid. - DavidGX, on 08/26/2008, -1/+9I'm John McCain and I..... what.. who are you.... where am I? DAMN VIDYAGAMEZ!
- zippe, on 08/26/2008, -0/+8the hillary hating fad is over. you can stop now.
- fuse13, on 08/26/2008, -0/+8what did your "above post" say? your apparent problem is the voters, not the candidate. nobody can make much sense of what you are even saying to disagree with it.
if, as it seems, you want to vote mccain to spite those who supported obama then nobody is going to bother having a serious argument with you because you are being petty and stupid.
why dont you make some, you know, actual points? then someone might have something that makes sense enough to debate. right now you just come across as a bitter, petulant crybaby. - zippy757, on 08/26/2008, -2/+9She said it, she meant it, she can't take back....she was either fibbing then, or fibbing now...you pick...
- elithebest, on 08/26/2008, -0/+7I can't figure Clinton supporters out at all.
- whatthefu, on 08/26/2008, -2/+9Maybe Hillary supporters believe that if McCain wins he'll do such an awful job that the country will just HAVE to elect Hillary Clinton.
that would suck :( - gurm, on 08/26/2008, -0/+7...or the fact that she'd be over 100 years old?
- AdeleMor, on 08/26/2008, -1/+8If McCain wins, Hillary still has a chance at the White House in 4 years. If Obama wins, she'll never be President. So who do you think she really supports?
- thredden, on 08/26/2008, -2/+9It feels like its getting harder and harder to figure out which are spam bots vs real comments on some sites...
