- UniversalGuy, on 11/08/2009, -23/+786I watched this ENTIRE thing live and I must say, I am very disgusted with the way the republicans are acting.
They are honestly worse than children.
Then watch as the democrats don't say ONE WORD while the republicans are talking!
Also I must let you guys know that this short clip doesn't show even 10% of what happened.
The republicans were shouting down the dems like this for almost half an hour to an hour it seemed, they wouldn't let the dems talk at all.
Stay classy you republican idiots, you are just prolonging your time as a minority party. - tcbishop12, on 11/08/2009, -20/+459Asses.
- AngryDeuce, on 11/08/2009, -8/+433I tell you, I have to give huge props to the people that were trying to talk like civilized human beings while the Republicans sat there and acted like ***** spoiled brat children. I mean, I'm sitting here completely removed from the situation and I want to reach through the screen, grab their mic, and rip it the ***** out of the podium.
I would have cut their ***** mic, and turned it back on when the other side was done talking. Apparently the manners my mother taught me when I was 4 ***** years old was lost on those fools. - Sogladtobehere, on 11/08/2009, -10/+328I honestly can't believe there is still support for these children. I feel bad that moderate Americans have the burden of dragging these kicking, screaming babies into the 21st century. Canada supports you moderates. Keep fighting these douchebags.
- killrrabit, on 11/08/2009, -7/+234The Price is wrong, bitch.
- Elsewhere42, on 11/08/2009, -7/+222That's right GOP! Keep it up! The longer you act like an ass the more people will realize what you are.
- gossumx, on 11/09/2009, -6/+205Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent to send Tom Price to a time out, and that he be suspended from recess for the next three days.
All in favor, say " I ". - flickerbrain, on 11/08/2009, -22/+181To quote a Black Eyed Peas song, "Shut up, just shut up shut up."
This isn't the way to gain any sort of credibility or respect from the American public. You can state your dissenting opinion, in a calm, and polite way, otherwise, I think you need to go sit in the corner and take a time out. - Lomstradamus, on 11/08/2009, -9/+156I would like to take a moment to personally say:
***** YOU TOM PRICE!
And had I been there in person they would have had to have surgically removed his microphone from his ass! - twiztidsinz, on 11/09/2009, -6/+124Ahhh... the old "WAAAAAAAH! BABY NOT GET HIS WAY!!! BABY THROW TANTRUM!!!!!" move.
- jwoodcould, on 11/09/2009, -2/+114Care to explain them?
- middlec, on 11/09/2009, -5/+114So I just got back from a Tom Price town hall type meeting. He gave a basic run down of what the republican's strategy is moving forward on fighting this legislation. In 2010 it will be an election year for Congress so congress people are less willing to pass legislation that could be controversial. Even though the bill has passed the house it has to go to the senate, and the Republicans are just trying to delay a vote on this bill back into 2010 because they feel the democrats will loose seats in this election. If the Republicans can get more seats then they can defeat this bill (220 yes votes vs 215 no votes). Republicans only need 3 more seats to block any effort. Remember Obama wanted Congress to vote on a bill in July, but the Republicans have been successful at delaying the progress on the bill until November. All they want to do is try and drag out the process in hopes to attack this bill at a later date when they are stronger. If a bill does get through Congress then if they can get control over Congress then they won't vote to fund this bill in the future. Also by pushing this back into 2010 there won't be any movement on it through the winter by the time election rolls around people being re-elected will be less likely to vote for any legislation that could get them dumped.
I continually hear in the media (both left and right outlets) that Obama administration isn't doing anything, but really I think Obama's administration is trying to do something. However, it's in the interest of the Republicans to hamper progress in Congress so he can't do anything. They are just trying to prevent any legislation from making to the president's desk. If you think Congress is dragging it's feet then it is. But, it's a concerted effort by the Republicans to do so.
This is the political strategy I'd like to hear someone like Jon Stewart call attention to. I think most American's think Congress isn't doing anything, but it's really that it's just being interrupted and slowed down on purpose. It's a dirty tactic, but calling direct attention to it will cause them to stop doing it.
I do have serious questions as to why the Democrats are so stupid as to let this happen. They are trying to be genteel and act like they'll go away or see how childish they are acting and stop. But, that's stupid and just naive which has always been their problem. Democrats are naive at best but possibly just inept. - Diefree, on 11/08/2009, -8/+110So they reveal their sexism to everyone in one of the most asinine ways possible. I'm surprised they didn't tell they should be home cooking dinner for their husbands also.
- j0phus, on 11/09/2009, -3/+94Yes I'd like to hear what rules the Democrats were breaking too. Then explain to me why this came back and finished after the break if they were breaking rules.
- imakethenews, on 11/09/2009, -3/+89"your a bunch of ignorant fools" LOL
- ExoticKosher, on 11/09/2009, -7/+92I prefer to call them what they really are:
Mother ***** corporate ***** sucking homophobic sexist racist greedy spoiled stupid ignorant jackasses.
/rant - haveaniceday91, on 11/09/2009, -5/+89More props to the Dems for not losing their temper. Definitely shows a difference in class.
Even so, it must have been hard to stay so focused. I would have seriously lost and would tell them to go STFU after the second "I object!" Jeez, talk about obnoxious. - ruthpenders, on 11/09/2009, -3/+83Appalling. Republican or not this is censorship.
- ThinkIcouldburn, on 11/09/2009, -3/+80This is our system? This is what it has become?
I'm ashamed. - iPlunder, on 11/09/2009, -6/+81So basically the house of representatives has the argument level of a 3rd grade class.
- fr3nch, on 11/09/2009, -4/+79A bunch of regular people shouting at an amoral foreign political leader to get their point across is WAY different than the ***** US Senate. The Republicans are not letting democratically elected representatives represent the people who elected them. Not good, especially when they are deciding the welfare for 50 million Americans and everyone else in the future that may be uninsured.
Edit: I forgot to call you a dumbass......DUMBASS - twiztidsinz, on 11/09/2009, -2/+75Not true..
No where did Diefree say or even imply that Republican reps are all men. He just said they were showing their sexism against women.
Ann Coulter (allegedly) is a woman, yet she thinks this country would be better off if women didn't vote or were restricted from voting.
Last I checked, that's a sexist remark. - Ghostalker, on 11/09/2009, -2/+73This week it'll be beaten by another republican putting his fingers in his ears yelling "LALALALALLA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALALALA"
- jrm125, on 11/09/2009, -4/+74***** off Tom Price
- BerateBirthers, on 11/08/2009, -9/+78The election's just finished. Their voters won't remember this in a year. That's their plan.
- GenocideRun, on 11/09/2009, -3/+71I too would also like to hear the rule the Dems broke that deserved the repeated interruptions from the republicans. Also, i think Tom Price would like to know as well, since when asked why he was objecting, he had no answer.
- mkriss5681, on 11/09/2009, -4/+72He objected to a women with an intelligent opinion.
- darkciti2, on 11/09/2009, -0/+66The speaker should have just called the sergeant at arms over to escort his ass out.
- biotch, on 11/09/2009, -0/+66jsebrech,
As an adult, it is entirely possible to care at great magnitudes yet control one's behavior to maintain an order of civility. In the end, behaving civilly is no hindrance to resolve and persistence. Getting into a shouting match does nothing for the greater good. It may seem right for the side arguing it, but on average it will slow progression and stifle constructive criticism; something any bill of this size surely needs and will continue to need long after its passage. - Devenu, on 11/09/2009, -2/+63I object.
- MisteryMeat, on 11/09/2009, -0/+61Good ad material for the next election.
Maybe we should send graham crackers and warm milk. - coraleaterlinda, on 11/09/2009, -6/+66Disgusting behavior. I expect someone who is supposed to be a professional to act respectfully to others.
- tgc1, on 11/09/2009, -3/+61At first I found myself calling to the speaker, instill some order. But shortly after he was banging away at the gavel, I found myself in utter disbelief. Cut their microphones I said. Poor guy was really dealing with a bunch of spoiled brats. I mean for a second there you couldn't tell that floor apart from a daycare.
Not to quite that degree. That sort of behavior is also common in our House of Commons in Canada. Seems like politicians act like little bitches when they don't get what they want. They honestly do us all a great disservice and make a mockery of our systems of government. We need to kick them all swiftly in the ass and remind them of whom they work for. - darkstar949, on 11/09/2009, -0/+57However, parliamentary procedures also require that a motion be on the floor before you can object to it. Price was out of order for trying to object to something before it was even properly stated.
- richirwin, on 11/09/2009, -0/+57silence.
Imagine that. A ***** republican talking boldly until somebody calls him on it.
FLUX is just another republican pussy. - caseycoold, on 11/09/2009, -1/+58[citation needed]
- darkciti2, on 11/09/2009, -3/+60What an immature, childish thing to do. He's from my district so I'm going to be writing a strongly worded letter to let Tom Price know what a jackass he is.
- KJSatz, on 11/09/2009, -0/+55Aye?
- darkciti2, on 11/09/2009, -3/+58I don't give a rats ass about what happens in British Parliament. Here in the US, it's childish and idiotic and it lowers the decorum and overall level of respect of the hall.
***** Tom Price. ***** him in the ass with a big rubber dick. - sneekgeek, on 11/08/2009, -5/+59Whose bright idea was to do that???
- homer524, on 11/09/2009, -1/+55Uhm, pretty sure that the objector was out of line, not the woman trying to speak. Price was objecting before the motion was even on the floor... even though this is not proper procedure. You are supposed to let the party finish before objections are placed. so.... You Lie!
- fiatjustitia, on 11/08/2009, -1/+53See you in 2010.
- ubermensch00, on 11/09/2009, -1/+50I think what FLUX is trying to say is that the Democratic Women's Caucus was breaking parliamentary procedure by speaking in a government building, clearly this was not allowed when George Washington was president, when our fine forefather's set down this great nation. And that's the way things should be in this country UNDER GOD. We must return things to the way they were in 1788 and stop at nothign to make sure they stay that way FOREVER. Amen. *turns on recorded Glenn Beck episodes to rewatch and take notes*
- kgerm, on 11/09/2009, -2/+50its like watching a 5 year old...
- Manwhore, on 11/09/2009, -1/+44I wish I could digg you twice sir.
- sassafras1232, on 11/09/2009, -0/+42Forget the mic. The chair should have the right to have individuals who are out of order removed.
- barcra, on 11/09/2009, -3/+45Interesting how it was the Dems Women Caucus that was shouted down. Why was that? Female voices are easier to shout over, is my guess.
- dyslexicsUNTIED, on 11/09/2009, -0/+40Very true. I guess my remarks were a bit off and i'll admit I was wrong.
+1 for allegedly - chockster, on 11/09/2009, -3/+42I agree with you, but feel that it's important to point out that quoting the Black Eyed Peas isn't the way to gain any sort of credibility either.
- Ryan_KW, on 11/09/2009, -9/+47It's like the old adage; He who smelt it, dealt it.
The Republicans claim that the Dems hate America, and freedom.
Anyone who attempts to stop health care for all, does not know what freedom means.
The GOP hate freedom. -
