- SIRBERUS, on 08/19/2008, -28/+185Obama, to me, represents a slight, potential, sorta "chance" for the US to redeem itself. But no matter how much I may not like Obama... the fact is there really isn't a choice within the 2 party system.
The sheer fact that some consider McCain a "candidate", to me, shows that Americans are so obsessed with having 2 mainstream candidates, and some people are so loyal to their party above their country, that you could literally swap anyone out (and I mean literally anyone) with McCain and there would still be people claiming he was the best.
Obama may be inexperienced when it comes to his age and such... but I'd rather have an inexperienced guy who seems to keep his facts straight and his policies in line than an experienced dumbass who is only in this race due to ignorance and manipulation. - savantemeritus, on 08/19/2008, -16/+125Penguins are smarter than some Americans.
- Ajjah, on 08/19/2008, -8/+96I didn't know that Linux supported Obama!
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -10/+61Exactly. It's like if someone comes up to you carrying two boxes. Those boxes contain possible lunches. You know for a fact the first box contains a ***** sandwich. However, you don't know what's in the second box - could be a smoothie of vomit and shunk entrails, but it could be a supreme pizza. Are you really gonna say "Well, since I don't know what's in the second box, I'm gonna take the ***** sandwich, because at least that way I know what I'm getting."?
Ultimately, we need to get past this whole two-party *****. The Republicans are imploding in on themselves, and the Democrats... Well, the Democrats have always been idiots (and I say that as a die-hard liberal, no less). We need to pull our heads out of our asses so that we have some semblance of a chance that the government we get reflects the wishes of the people. Until then, though, the fact that McCain is even considered to be a viable candidate is a complete mockery of the system. - nblsavage, on 08/19/2008, -4/+46No one has "experience" running the country until they are elected.
- h37s3m, on 08/19/2008, -1/+32i saw that punchline coming from the second cell
- RobotBuddha, on 08/19/2008, -0/+18And more depressing than funny at this point.
- russ3, on 08/19/2008, -3/+20Lol you really want to talk about the companies he drove into the ground?
- RobotBuddha, on 08/19/2008, -1/+17I'm not, a shocking number of my friends are. I'm not really placing the blame on anyone, the economy is complex to the point where I'm not going to pretend to be qualified to point fingers. But for whatever reason, I've seen more people I know lose their jobs and find it impossible to get another of equal quality, or often above what one would expect as basic "just out of high school" work.
- SIRBERUS, on 08/19/2008, -2/+17eloquently stated.
- Cybermaul, on 08/19/2008, -2/+16As a college student working with this economy on a very personal level, I'm getting close.
- Hftysmrf, on 08/19/2008, -9/+23I'd take someone with smarts over experience...I mean the guy was president of Harvard Law Review.
- wampalord, on 08/19/2008, -10/+22Wow a Bush is incompetent joke? That's so fresh and original.
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -0/+12Do you really think that blindly and cluelessly calling him a Marxist is going to help you? If they guy was a Marxist, he'd set out nationalizing all industries; I don't see any of that happening quite yet.
- warispeace21, on 08/19/2008, -2/+13Actually Sparky has been around longer than Tux has. Sparky's first comic, from 1991:
http://www.thismodernworld.org/arc/1991/91first-Sp ... - DevilInPgh, on 08/19/2008, -0/+11One candidate had 22 years of service to his country at home and abroad. The other had only a single term in the House and was defeated in a Senate race two years prior. For whom would you vote?
If you said candidate A, congratulations, you just voted for James Buchanan, the WORST President in US history (by a smidge over Bush. At least he didn't let the Union descend into civil war on his watch. Well, not yet, anyways). - ax8284, on 08/19/2008, -0/+11you obviously don't know a damn thing about Marxism.
- zephyear, on 08/19/2008, -2/+13as a socialist i take a offense in you calling him a marxist
please, the guys barely centre-left - RomeyRome, on 08/19/2008, -1/+12I vote for the penguin.
- ironhide, on 08/19/2008, -1/+11McCain has experience sitting on his ass in a cell.
- wezman2, on 08/19/2008, -0/+9Ummm... dshPls... Ron Paul ran in the republican primary... one of the parties in the two party system... that would make him not a challenge to the two party system. Nader, ok... not Paul.
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -2/+10i've never seen a comic go so far over someone's head before..
- scy1192, on 08/19/2008, -0/+8what's with the personal attack?

http://digg.com/political_opinion/McCain_Vs_Obama_ ... - Diggnabbit, on 08/19/2008, -3/+11He ALMOST said?
I heard he almost said that he hates the troops and wants to murder everyone's grandmothers. Almost. - bigcynic, on 08/19/2008, -0/+8Talk about stuck in the past as the world moves on.
- falafelkiosken, on 08/19/2008, -4/+11years = experience? what about common sense?
- oo7evan, on 08/19/2008, -3/+10Digg comment madlib:
Damn people, when will you realize that will never be as good as (insert product/person) because (insert product/person) has gone down hill ever since (insert bad feature/scandal). And we all know that as soon as (insert rumored event) happens, nobody will even want to (buy/see) this. Sheeple. - LLLSecretChimp, on 08/19/2008, -3/+10He certainly doesn't look like those presidents on the money.
- DevilInPgh, on 08/19/2008, -2/+9Obama was in the Illinois state senate for 8 years prior to running for the US Senate, you dumbass.
- barbiesnow, on 08/19/2008, -0/+7Abraham Lincoln
- DevilInPgh, on 08/19/2008, -2/+9Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
- phike, on 08/19/2008, -2/+9OK, look how easy it is to take what Obama says out of context:
FIRST HALF OF plnegative1's VIDEO: Obama talks about how Iran is not a threat to US (as in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA)
SECOND HALF of plnegative1's VIDEO: Obama talks about how Iran is a major threat to ISLAM and ISRAEL (Not "us", not "The UNITED STATES", but ISLAM and ISRAEL).
Get it?
You, sir, are the puppet. - ozydingo, on 08/19/2008, -4/+10So you're saying Bush was experienced and he ruined this country...so much for that argument then.
- m3sm3r, on 08/19/2008, -2/+8Geordi the Penguin?
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -0/+6Germans?
- nblsavage, on 08/19/2008, -1/+7Or that relative experience might not matter as much as other factors? Such as intelligence, diplomacy and education.
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -3/+9comic synopsis: obama's lack of experience couldn't possibly screw the country up more than bush-the-tyrannical did
obama supporters' comments: "right on! here's why...[example, opinion, or both]"
mcsame supporters' comments: "obama lacks experience" - Kolbeck10, on 08/19/2008, -13/+19Bush was as inexperienced and "he ruined this country" ... Looks like a solid argument.
- Reynardine, on 08/19/2008, -2/+8Bush had plenty of experience failing before it was his job description. ;)
Obama worked in law and academia and did an outstanding job. His skill set might not guarantee he's the world's greatest president, but *has* guaranteed he gives a thoughtful, rigorous analysis of an issue before he draws his conclusions, e.g. net neutrality. Even when I don't agree with the guy (FISA), he makes the reasoning behind his decisions crystal-clear. - tme2k24, on 08/19/2008, -1/+6Wow - you really DON'T know what you're talking about, huh?
- FelixDrylock, on 08/19/2008, -0/+5not very creative. I hate Bush but this comic took a predictable path and was anticlimactic.
- Dibou, on 08/19/2008, -12/+17What I find amusing is that Obama almost said he wouldn't have voted for Clarence Thomas because of his lack of experience. I mean even though Thomas had 10x more than Obama, Obama still thought that wasn't enough.....except for his own case.
- Squidwalk, on 08/19/2008, -0/+4Haha, that's a cute picture.
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -5/+9um... neither?
- dshPls, on 08/19/2008, -7/+11People challenge the 2 party system every election. Look how far Ron Paul got... His ideas just weren't popular and the primary results reflected that. I would appreciate more options during every election if they were varying degrees of right and left, but 3rd party candidates right now are too extreme to have me consider them.
- tastethevenom, on 08/19/2008, -3/+7Inexperienced when it comes to his AGE? Obama is nearly 50 years old.
- bubba9999, on 08/19/2008, -2/+6Let's compare IQs instead of years in the machine next.
- SpinningHead, on 08/19/2008, -0/+4Oh but that makes him an elitist. I bet he doesn't even know how to BBQ.
