- Ralphdraw3, on 04/22/2009, -1/+42The very powerful Israeli lobby group - AIPAC - is involved here, as well as two possible spies for Israel in America. Rep. Harmon, ironically, was trying to become Chair of the House Intelligence committee at the time of these conversations.

NSA budget, $3.6 Billion
A Senator getting caught up in the NSA warrant less wire taping that would have been illegal had she not supported it, Priceless! - Bagos1, on 04/23/2009, -0/+31She obviously didn't think spying on Americans meant her.
- allowners, on 04/23/2009, -0/+30Another one of our "representatives" who sold out the country in order to cover for the fact that she sold out our country to a foreign power. Rs and Ds, different families of mob.
- Ralphdraw3, on 04/22/2009, -0/+27Another story on the Harmon affair:
http://digg.com/politics/Spy_vs_Spy_Harman_demands ... - fatfreddyscat, on 04/23/2009, -1/+18A fine American that's who.
- dalittle, on 04/23/2009, -0/+15What is way more scary is that an israeli spy was trying to get Harman to work to reduce espionage-related charges in the Rosen / Weissman israel spy case. And rich lobbyist Haim Saban was trying to use the threat of withholding political donations to Pelosi to get Harman put on the House Select Committee on Intelligence. There needs to be a new investigation into AIPAC and what they are up to and new limits to their organization or a disbanding of it.
- Petestreet, on 04/23/2009, -0/+13I don't know, this ***** just makes me angry.
I am beginning to conclude that our government is so corrupt that it useless. Like s toilet in which we flush tax money. No even worse, a toilet would just waste money, our government uses it to actively harm people. I am disgusted. - docbaily, on 04/23/2009, -0/+13I believe that it was two NSA agents, Agent Irony, and Agent Comedy.
- jeremyduffy, on 04/23/2009, -0/+12How this all went on and no one has been jailed for it yet is the surest evidence that our country has become corrupt enough that we need drastic changes. Maybe term limits are the answer, maybe not, but I do know that I would respect Obama a lot more if he had the balls to prosecute the weasels involved.

- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -6/+14You know that the politician in question is a democrat because her party affiliation is only mentioned once and it's buried in the middle of the article.
- AaronS2000, on 04/23/2009, -0/+8"in the NSA warrant less wire taping that would have been illegal had she not supported it"
Actually this was a legal wiretap using the FISA court. It had nothing to do with the warrantless wiretap program other than when the former AG Alberto Gonzales killed the investigation on her to get her support on the illegal warrentless wiretap program.
The Attorney General is the head of the U.S. Justice Department and Gonzales should be thrown in jail for interfering with the judicial process for political purposes. - PacketScan, on 04/23/2009, -1/+9She looks like an enemy combatant.. Time to water board her.
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -1/+9I think Mr. AIPAC needs to be introduced to Mr. RICO.
- mbtria, on 04/23/2009, -0/+7A government in which treason has become the standard.
- Wag3Slav3, on 04/23/2009, -0/+7'cause she's not an american. She's a politician. As a member of the US congress she is above all laws, doesn't have to answer direct questions with anything but ready made talking points that aren't even tangentially related, and can completely ignore requests for information from the courts.
- spottydog88, on 04/23/2009, -1/+7Not seeing this story on any of the corporate news stations speaks volumes about how information is disseminated in this country.
- pinchduck, on 04/23/2009, -0/+5Between the way that AT&T re-routed their internet backbone, and the warrantless wiretaps, weren't we all basically spied on? Not to detract from the main point of the article, though: Corrupt politicians should be prosecuted.
- Notasheeple, on 04/23/2009, -3/+6Anyone still think that Israel should be our are our friends.........?
- akhomestead, on 04/23/2009, -0/+3It's sad isn't it, when you realize the government you should fear is your own.
- cherrysweet00, on 04/23/2009, -0/+3Of course, Harman didn't get the gig, despite the bribes and threats. Harman, not Harmon.
- s32843, on 04/23/2009, -1/+4Not many people watch carefully on money used in foreign aids or financial supports for various anti-foreign government groups. You give them money, they use that money to lobby our government so that they can continue to get more money. This is not a joke.
- moulin1, on 04/23/2009, -0/+3Not really ironic since this was the purpose of warrantless wiretaps to begin with. Federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies already had the ability to wiretap just about anyone. If you read some of the warrants the EFF and ACLU got under FOI you can see the agency needed little or no evidence to get the national security court to approve the wiretap. Basically, "we think he might be a terrorist" was good enough. And they didn't need the warrant to start. They could just tap the line and ask for permission later. The NS court never said no. So why would the NSA even need warrantless taps? For cases where the NS court would certainly say no. And what cases would this very friendly and helpful court say no to? Spying on political opponents to blackmail and/or discredit them.
- akhomestead, on 04/23/2009, -0/+3"Truth is treason in a nation of lies"
Ron Paul - Roboctopus, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2Term limits should be part of it. That these crooks get to "serve" the people with unlimited terms is ridiculous. Of course, we keep electing the same crooks over and over...
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -1/+3I'm a moderate and bias in news presentation should be criticized whenever it occurs. It's okay with you as long as your side wins, right? Well you're a cancer to the society and the political process.
- jezsik, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2What? That means we'd have to first empty the jails around the country.
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -1/+3Oh good job, way to twist that around to distract from the obviously implied point that a republican would have had his party mentioned twice in the headline and summary so that even people who didn't bother reading the article would have known. The obvious bias is sickening and so are you.
- erictheturtle, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2I'm so glad I sent her a nasty letter before the election telling her to own up to her crap or she doesn't get my vote. Of course she didn't and I picked the other guy. Unfortunately 69% of my district is full of morons.
- inactive, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1More on the Israeli spy/lobbying agency Harman was protecting: http://www.amazon.com/Foreign-Agents-Committee-Ful ...
- oldgal, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1not all of us, however, banged the drums to get the legislation passed which made this legal...Jane Harmon was one of the most outspoken supporters.
- inactive, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1Should have happened a loooooong time ago.
http://www.amazon.com/Foreign-Agents-Committee-Ful ... - inactive, on 04/26/2009, -0/+1yes and so is blago. The point being that those on the center, and to the left in american politics go after crooked pols.Dispite thier party.Where repubs and those on the right always blame someone else,or try to justify thier illegal actions (ie.Torture)
- maceelk, on 04/23/2009, -4/+5So you're complaining that the word democrat didn't appear enough times in the article...?
I mean you're not denying the information is there, just that you don't like when and where it comes to light.
Just want to point out that you're a tool. - inactive, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1"She obviously didn't think spying on Americans meant her."
Imagine her surprise when she realized that Israeli agents are only *mostly* above the law.... - diggduggDOOM, on 04/23/2009, -0/+0Irony is not the same as hypocrisy.
- inactive, on 07/22/2009, -0/+0"when countless ordinary Americans are being wiretapped without warrants, Harman declares the program "both necessary and legal." But when Harman herself is victim to a court-approved wiretap, she decides it's "a gross abuse of power"
- kiethstross, on 06/03/2009, -0/+0Any crime can not take place unless the system loosen its wings. This shows that major changes are required to protect the country from the attacks and beside huge national property loses, innocent citizen also lose their life. Criminal Attorney Miami must do something to net early. http://www.lawyerscooperation.com/attorney.html
- xGORDOx, on 04/23/2009, -4/+4So what was all the crap about "culture of corruption" in 2006?
Sheesh, the Dems are making the Repubs look like kids at a sunday school at this point. - crazy0, on 04/23/2009, -3/+2but we're antisemitic if we are to question these sellouts...
- somespecial, on 04/24/2009, -2/+1My sources tell me the news reporter wacks off every night.
- normlsparky, on 04/24/2009, -3/+1@EffYoo
Poor Republicans are always being persecuted. For being the party of 'personal responsibility', they certainly do play the victim well. - DryMaltExtract, on 04/23/2009, -4/+2I'll never understand why the US is Israel's little bitch. It's like a giant body builder getting his ass kicked by a midget and liking it. I would've thought America would prefer being the Dom in the S&M game.
- Skywise, on 04/23/2009, -19/+2And, again... WHO, illegally, leaked this information to the public and for what purpose?
