- inactive, on 05/16/2008, -46/+317Funny how these Jesus-lovers care so much about a fetus, but treat human life so cavalierly.
- Ridgeliner7, on 05/16/2008, -60/+240This submission is a part of the old politics of hate Barack Obama has denounced, and the person who submitted it, changing the headline from "Huckabee jokes about Obama ducking a gunman" to being about assassinating Obama, is lame, and not at all helpful to the campaign. I wish you amateurs would stop this *****....it does to us what Clinton and her people did to themselves. Get it? I realize you think this kind of stuff helps, but it doesn't. Check yourselves, okay?
- bridgetact8, on 05/16/2008, -29/+207This is awful and not funny- lets digg this up.
It is sick and typical of Huckabee who is an idiot. “That was Barack Obama, he just tripped off a chair, he's getting ready to speak,” said the former Arkansas governor, to audience laughter. “Somebody aimed a gun at him and he dove for the floor.”
How is that humorous? - Tex, on 07/28/2008, -51/+188Making outrageous statements more palatable to the public is often first accomplished through humor.
- inactive, on 05/16/2008, -20/+108I think Cheney should take Huckabee out duck hunting.
- inactive, on 05/16/2008, -36/+122Why does John McCain support domestic terrorism?
Will he denounce the comments by the pro-domestic terrorist Mike Huckabee? - CaptainTex, on 05/16/2008, -6/+75Classy.
- Moetownslick, on 05/16/2008, -18/+86possibly the unfunniest joke i've ever heard.
seriously. - blakecr, on 05/16/2008, -33/+93I do not know what to say...
- culbeda, on 05/16/2008, -8/+62I hardly think that qualifies as humor.
- cricket7, on 05/16/2008, -28/+71This makes me sick to my stomach
- floppyparty, on 05/16/2008, -3/+43Come on people, bad joke. Remember when Huckabee DEFENDED Obama during after Reverend Wright's comments. I really think that helped Obama to contain the damage to his campaign.
- inactive, on 05/16/2008, -15/+55Well I guess Huckabee can't blame evolution for him being so stupid, God made him that dumb.
- lsumed, on 05/16/2008, -7/+46Don't say anything. Just let the Republicans shoot themselves in the foot.
- techweenie, on 05/16/2008, -18/+57KKKlass act
- NoDrama, on 05/16/2008, -11/+50Not funny. Not even remotely funny.
- PhQnix, on 05/16/2008, -11/+49I'm not particularly sure why this is getting Dugg down, the title of the article is "Huckabee jokes about Obama ducking a gunman." The word "assassinating" doesn't appear anywhere in the article, yet the submitter has used it in the title. He's using the word as an emotional tool, to provoke a certain reaction. This is exactly what Fox news is criticised for, but here it's ok?
- lokee73, on 05/16/2008, -15/+53HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!
Oh! Stop! My sides are hurting! Republican's have the greatest sense of humor! And that ***** is a laugh-frigin'-riot!
*****. - inactive, on 05/16/2008, -12/+43I guess Jesus supports domestic terrorism. Who knew?
Thanks to this right wing Christian Pro-life nut job I now know Jesus hates smart black people and wants them murdered. - kabuso, on 05/16/2008, -16/+46Way out of line on this one
- exronin, on 05/16/2008, -37/+61It almost sounds like he is encouraging an assassination attempt on Obama, that is just plain disgusting. I disagreed with Huckabee on everything, but I respected him for standing up for what he believed in. Turns out he is just an ***** and a douchebag.
- ambiguus, on 05/16/2008, -10/+33What commentary on American politics does this promote when our potential leaders make statements like this? Why do most of our elected leaders turn out to be so ignorant when they should be serving as positive role models?
- heyblue, on 05/16/2008, -3/+25I agree it's not funny and a horrific thing to say. However, I'm going to *shudder* try to get into his mind and figure out what Huckabee was thinking here:
I think the joke is supposed to be that Obama is some sort of scaredy-cat. That if Obama was at that NRA convention he would be diving for the floor all day long, because he's scared of guns or gun owners. Either that, or Huckabee thinks that there were people at that show who want Obama dead and that's somehow funny. Either way, with one flip comment Huckabee has suddenly proven himself to be a horrible human being. - Topkill, on 05/16/2008, -4/+26Uh yeah, it is hateful when anyone literally wishes death on anyone.. are you ***** retarded?
- lsumed, on 05/16/2008, -18/+37Why am I not surprised?
- Browzer, on 05/16/2008, -0/+19They didn't laugh. Contrary to popular belief, most responsible gun owners don't find humor in aiming guns at each other.
- tcbishop12, on 05/16/2008, -10/+28He was the 44th governor of Arkansas, but doesn't presently hold elective office so there is no official body - like the Arkansas legislature - to censure him. I guess that leaves it up to us. Mike Huckabee, are you out of your friggin' mind? Geezus H, Governor, whatever you have ever stood for in your life, you just lost.
Rule #1 from now on for you until the end of time: Sit down and shut up.
Rule #2 - refer to Rule #1. - ShaggyForever, on 05/16/2008, -19/+37Maybe the noise was his own campaign hitting rock bottom.
Or his wildebeest wife's mating call. - Tex, on 07/28/2008, -3/+21I agree. But the hateful sentiment can now be obscured with the claim of "I was just joking" or "it was just a joke, get a sense of humor."
- franklymister, on 05/16/2008, -0/+18I'm an NRA member, and I would have booed him off the stage. There's nothing funny about pointing a gun at anyone, least of all is there anything funny about pointing one at a presidential candidate.
Huckabee owes Obama an apology, and he owes the NRA an apology as well. - kotatsu, on 05/16/2008, -12/+29He sounds pretty christian to me. Religions have always thrived on hated and violence.
- unicronband, on 05/16/2008, -2/+19It may have met some definition of being comedic if it was Hillary he was referring to (Bosnian sniper fire incident), but no, this wasn't even Dane Cook funny (which is to say not funny at all).
- Homerr, on 05/16/2008, -15/+32I fear for the worst about the response the NRA gave the joke. Somehow I doubt they booed him.
- raeshao, on 05/16/2008, -10/+25I swear, for most bible toters that also love their guns a little too much, blacks are sub-human. And it seems nothing will change their minds on this. Actually, let me rephrase that. Anyone who doesn't look or think like they do is sub-human. I can't wait until the day that viewpoint disappears from this planet. I'm pretty sure I won't be around to see that happen.
- kemp34, on 05/16/2008, -10/+25Fake Christian.
- airwalkery2k, on 05/16/2008, -13/+28I guess Huckabee's not an expert at impromptu jokes.
- sulthernao, on 05/16/2008, -3/+18I actually watched the video and the silence that followed that "joke" was deafening.
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -1/+15I think his lack of existence explains it a little better.
- franklymister, on 05/16/2008, -4/+16"Anytime one was pointed in his direction."
You must not be a gun owner, because if you were, you'd know that you NEVER point a gun in anyone's direction, even when you're "sure" it's unloaded. Idiot. - kenedamick, on 05/16/2008, -11/+23What's the big deal guys? That's totally what Jesus would have said.
/sarcasm - robthom, on 05/16/2008, -0/+11Always trying to keep the pumpernickel down!
- musicbear, on 05/17/2008, -0/+11And he is a coward... I would ask Mike to say that to the man's face... and see how funny it is... see if Obama gets the 'joke'. Do these out of touch fake politicians not understand yet that the internet works? Like no one would notice Republican Rep Davis of VA using the term 'tar baby' in statements about obama... what are you thinking? you want people to believe you are that proudly ignorant and racist... oh it's just a joke... yeah... because tar baby is something EVERYONE jokes with.
- PDAIsAOk, on 05/16/2008, -3/+13This is the same guy who went hunting and said those who dont vote for him get shot.
"If you vote for me you live, if you don't.. ::shrugs to imply you will be shot::" Mike Huckabee - peticsu, on 05/16/2008, -8/+18what a douchebag
- Tex, on 07/28/2008, -8/+18"Aimed a gun at him" is very different from "pointed in his direction," and you know this.
- Nanobe, on 05/16/2008, -2/+12I agree. I'm an Obama supporter, but I think Huckabee's joke was really more about Obama being rather unpopular among the types of people who attend NRA conventions. By the pause he made after the statement, I bet he was regretting his choice of words.
- stretch611, on 05/16/2008, -1/+12Something tells me you are dead wrong...
I know it must be the "Below viewing Threshold" and large negative number on the line with your user name. - dexter411, on 05/16/2008, -32/+42"That was Barack Obama; he just tripped off a chair. He's getting ready to speak and somebody aimed a gun at him, and he dove for the floor."
Echoing a few others, this is not Huckabee saying someone is trying to assassinate Obama. He's just joking at that Obama is so afraid of gun owning Americans that he would duck and cover anytime one was pointed in his direction (i.e. imagine someone at a gun show picking one up to show and him jumping to the ground. - jebudas, on 05/17/2008, -1/+11If you knew anything about guns you'd realize that pointing a gun at someone is never a laughing matter.
