- SeethisPass, on 12/11/2007, -50/+331Religion is a big problem not a cure for anything.
- minoss, on 12/11/2007, -20/+255Religion doesn't belong in politics. It belong in your home.
- inactive, on 12/11/2007, -16/+244How is it the most corrupt and scandal ridden party in history seems to believe God is on their side?
What does ***** and secret gay sex and spying and blown budgets and no health care and warmongering have to do with Jesus? - Corrosionx, on 12/11/2007, -14/+169Sometimes I think Huckabee should run for Ahmadinejad's job.
- SheilaNoya, on 12/11/2007, -16/+142Huckabee also claims that the reason he is suddenly doing so well in the polls is because of "divine intervention". How many gullible idiots are going to believe that God actually wants Huckabee to be president? If that were the case, then why do we bother voting. If God wanted Huckabee to be president, He would just go *POOF* and zap him right into the oval office.
Huckabee sounds more like the "false prophet" the bible warns us about. I'm not sure which is scarier, Huckabee, or the idiots that think he is God's "chosen one" to lead America. - RealSurreal, on 12/11/2007, -16/+106Well thats the thing most of the founding fathers were either deist or atheist so it really was not based on Christian values. Google it if you don't believe me.
- missingnoh4x, on 12/11/2007, -2/+79Someone needs to tell him about the Treaty of Tripoli.
- Todamont, on 12/11/2007, -7/+80I would rather choke to death on my own vomit than vote for Huckabee.
- DeadRooster, on 12/11/2007, -4/+71“The government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion.” (Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11: Written during the Administration of George Washington and signed into law by John Adams.)
- erickssm, on 12/11/2007, -4/+69Anyone that openly blind to the separation of church and state doesn't have any right to hold any political seat, anywhere, at any time.
- mrboratsagdiev, on 12/11/2007, -11/+70The Agenda of Huckabee's Campaign:
-------------------------------------------------------------
1. Isolate all AIDS patients, including Ryan White.
2. Make wives submissive to their husbands.
3. Destroy all records on computers and paper linked to him.
4. Pardon (or influence the pardon of) the real criminals, keep the non-violent ones locked away
5. Take back this nation for Christ!
6. Have him and his supporters rip off all the other candidate's ideas and treat them as if they're his own.
7. Smooth-talk his way out of any awkward positions, kind of like another guy we know from Hope, Arkansas.
Choice quotes:
1. "If I were some of these guys, I'd have to be sitting in a warm tub of water with razor blades," Huckabee said in an interview on MSNBC
2. "If it wasn't for the grace of God, I'd have shot a few people" -- Huckabee's Wife
(Doesn't Christianity, you know, discourage suicide and murder? I wonder what his position on assisted suicide is.) - Aaronraw, on 12/11/2007, -3/+60Its REALLY bad when I'm scared of this statement AND I go to church every week.
- manicleek, on 12/11/2007, -7/+61Of course you will, you're as dumb as he is
- superfusion, on 12/11/2007, -6/+60Founding of America = manifestation of the ideas of rational, liberal, Enlightenment thinkers.
Fall of America = result of irrational, conformist, regressive thinkers. - Cyberen, on 12/11/2007, -5/+53"Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined, imprisoned; yet we have not advanced an inch towards uniformity. What has been the effect of coercion? To make one half the world fools, and the other half hypocrites. To support roguery and error all over the earth."
-Thomas Jefferson
""Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness, with which more than half of the Bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we call it the word of a demon than the word of God. It is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind. "
-Thomas Paine
Yeah, those anti-religious nazis are coming to rule us alright...wait a minute.
"As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice”
-Adolph Hitler - sensoukami, on 12/11/2007, -14/+59Considering how twisted the Bible is, maybe all that stuff just fits right in...
- Amazetbm, on 12/11/2007, -8/+51Um...half of the founding fathers were Masons. ...and how his he taking back American for Christ when it was stole from the natives in the first place.
- fractalman, on 12/11/2007, -7/+49This country was founded by men seeking freedom from religious persecution. The Huckster would persecute every non christian in this country. If he gets the nomination, we'll have a dem in the whitehouse.
- atdigg, on 12/11/2007, -12/+53Huckabee = fundie,
Romney = magic underwears,
Giuliany = nuts,
Great selection... - IndiShukla, on 12/11/2007, -7/+48so much for the separation of church and state
- infinity777, on 12/11/2007, -2/+42Dont forget torture...
- Elderon, on 12/11/2007, -37/+70I don't mind the fact that the United States was founded by men with christian values, but come on this to me seems to be straddling the line of the separation of church and state.
- tulpe, on 12/11/2007, -8/+40please mythbusters.. bust that jesus nonsense
- ScienceDoc, on 12/11/2007, -19/+50He needs to see a mental health professional...now
- sensoukami, on 12/11/2007, -5/+36I was wondering if you were being sarcastic, but you actually believe that drivel. What's it like on your planet, and is there any intelligent life there?
- total1337ness, on 12/11/2007, -3/+34This nation never was for Christ it was for freedom of religion.
- Dalrek, on 12/11/2007, -3/+34Why would his world view matter when he's just trying to run for the most powerful position in the world? Sheesh.
- ChrisWickenscom, on 12/11/2007, -5/+35Yes, religion creates a good society...
Lest we point out god "plan" and it's many flaws.
I love how "god" kills innocent people but it's ok because it's part of his plan.
I have a better plan, kill this "god" and then we wont have any problems. - BabyWookie, on 12/11/2007, -3/+33Exactly which Christian values was this country founded on? How many of the 10 Commandments are laws in this country? This country was founded on some of the universal principles of justice that existed long before Christ.
- CrackyJSquirrel, on 12/11/2007, -0/+30C'mon.. Bush said to himself "WWJD" and he was right when he felt Jesus would try to get funding to perpetuate a war and deny funding for child healthcare. If you read the bible, you would realize that Jesus hated children and loved to fight. He in fact, would pick fights and go to war with the orphan population of Jerusalem all the time.
- fuzzmeister, on 12/11/2007, -9/+38While Paul is obviously more for the separation of church and state than Huckabee, you realize that he is a very religious and conservative Christian, right?
- ElJif, on 12/11/2007, -5/+33I don't mind religion...as long as it's not being shoved down my throat.
- omnithought, on 12/11/2007, -5/+32You can't shove reason down a person's throat. You're proof.
- Berkana, on 12/11/2007, -6/+30Christians should beware of this kind of deception. Politicians know all too well that often all it takes to make Christians ignore a questionable record is to loudly declare one's religious fervor. Don't fall for it again!
Here's David Kuo, the former #2 in command in Bush's Faith Based Initiatives giving the inside scoop on how the Republicans use religion to fleece Christian voters of their votes while getting away with disgustingly un-Christian policies and behavior otherwise:

IMHO, the most honest and Christian (in his living out of his moral convictions) of the candidates is Ron Paul, whose record for integrity and honesty is a lot more impressive than Huckabee's.
Even Jesus said, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's". That, in case you can't tell, implies a separation of Church and State in this age. - omnithought, on 12/11/2007, -2/+24I do, and not afraid to say so. Good people do good and evil people do evil. For good people to do evil, that takes religion.
- falcooonpunch, on 12/11/2007, -14/+36Some say it doesn't even belong there. ;P
- mattmy, on 12/11/2007, -9/+30O ***** that *****
- jermm, on 12/11/2007, -6/+27Are you trolling or just a (religious) dumbass?
- JasonsLan, on 12/11/2007, -5/+25I thought Mormons were the only ones who believed that Christ ever visited America in the first place.... so how are we going to take back America for Christ, if he never had it..
- breckinshire, on 12/11/2007, -1/+21"In God We Trust" isn't some slogan stretching back to the founding days of our nation - it was only adopted in the 1950s as a way to distinguish ourself from the commies. Prior to that, we trusted someone else, apparently.
- robberry, on 12/11/2007, -15/+35lordmetroid claims that Ron Paul is the best candidate Republicans have to offer. andburn1 claims that Ron Paul isn't fit to lead the country. You know what? They're *both* right.
- MrHammer, on 12/11/2007, -8/+28Thank you. After the countless rude and idotic comments about how religion is damaging and negative, this is the FIRST comment I've seen on digg that is neutral to this point. You are right, religion doesn't belong in politics, however it is intolerant to flat out say, "Religion sucks, ***** God." And yes, digg is full of these.
As a religious person myself, minoss, I commend you for your polite and fair comment on the subject. - dafragsta, on 12/11/2007, -2/+22If god endorses Mike Huckabee and his senseless campaign, then ***** god. No higher power would let his name be used to enslave men in fear the way evangelicals and radicals do.
- lordmetroid, on 12/11/2007, -26/+46Ron Paul would be the best fit in my opinion.
- ChinkInMyArmor, on 12/11/2007, -2/+21Religion can be fine on a personal level. Things get ***** up when people start telling other people what to believe.
- inactive, on 12/11/2007, -4/+23- Religious Lunatics -
When being just crazy is not enough. - dustinmacdonald, on 12/11/2007, -4/+22Ron Paul doesn't believe in evolution either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4af9Q0Fa4Q
- erkokite, on 12/11/2007, -4/+21Has nothing to do with being liberal. Many people just don't want the president shoving religion down their throats. I know Evangelical Christians think everyone who doesn't follow their beliefs is going to hell to burn forever, but many people think that's completely ***** insane.
- imacashew, on 12/11/2007, -3/+20straddling? what he wants to do is a little farther than straddle that line....he wants to hump it into submission.
