- awm4, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25I can't wait until this election is over
- jgtg32a, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I think thats one thing both side can agree on
- MikeKnoop, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18Probably 1 in 100 voters actually go the polls educated.
The other 99 base their vote off of TV, Radio, Internet, etc.
My conclusion, if you are stupid enough to fall for this trick and not vote, for the love of God, I don't want you voting anyways. You are uneducated and easily pushed around by the media.
-Mike - miketrin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Because that's what's being dugg. It's also somewhat liberal, why? Because that's too is what people are digging.
- nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12I dunno, I see a lot of ads that start out by talking about the opponent . . . actually, most of the ads I see start off by saying things about a political opponent . . . it doesn't sound like "voter fraud" or "supressing the vote" to me.
- tobalt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8I guess the gist is they are trying to suppress the Democratic vote, and not supress the total vote. IOW: Have a greater Republican turnout by decreasing the number of Democrats showing up to vote.
- Gojulas, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7They wanted voters to vote when Bush's approval rating was high. Now it is not. 2004's election and this one are two different animals, with a different political landscape.
That there are a large number of apparently deceptive robocalls happening can not be called "completely wrong". There's too much evidence. Therefore "this story" is not completely wrong. - windsor205, on 10/12/2007, -20/+25Just when we thought we'd seen all the sleaze the Republicans had to offer, they offer more. "Suppress the Vote" should be their new motto.
- PanteroBlanco, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7My home state is a good example of this.
Do you remember the fuss about the "Georgia Voter ID Law" in 2005? Remember it being overturned? The same thing happened in 2006, and the pollers today REQUIRED PEOPLE TO PRESENT ID ANYWAY, the exact words being "we have to see your license".
I have heard NO news about the law being instated a third time, and none of the articles I've dug up mentioned it. If it happened, it happened with no media attention.
To cover their asses they sent a bus around to some of the small towns in the south part of the state to give out "free voting-only IDs". In my home town, the bus was parked on the outskirts of town, past several lanes of traffic on a highway. This was supposed to help people who don't have cars or drivers licenses?!

These Conquest Communications guys are here in Richmond!
Holy Crap! - Gojulas, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10They are "screaming foul" because it IS foul, and implying that democrats are doing the same thing without backing up your statement is ALSO foul.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10I find it quite amusing that it's easier for these hardcore lib's to believe in some great big evil conspiracy then it is to accept the fact that they have a minority world-view. Just accept the fact that most American's aren't socialists. Or elitist fascists for that matter.
- ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Communist Russia = social conservative, economic liberal.
Nazi Germany = social conservative, economic conservative.
Fascists = social conservative, economic conservative.
Social Democrat = social liberal, economic liberal.
Libertarian = social liberal, economic conservative.
Neo-conservative = social conservative, economic conservative.
Modern Republican Party = social conservative, economic conservative.
Old Republican Party = social liberal, economic conservative.
Democratic Party = social liberal, economic liberal.
Green Party = social liberal, economic liberal.
There. Now have fun debating who's a fascist and who isn't. - plaunie, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6very constructive argument there mooheiferghandi. Are we also supposed to not notice the subtle racial undertone of your nickname? Is it a joke to be played on us liberal types or just Hindus in general.
- PanteroBlanco, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8The IDs that Georgia's requiring in order for people to vote today have been found illegal in court TWICE, and that isn't stopping them.
- MikeKnoop, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Supress the vote my ass, it's just a trick to get you to switch candidates, not cease to vote all-together.
-Mike - trenchcoat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3With apologies to Penny-arcade: You, sir, are the Dalai Lama of the ***** retards.
Says the guy who posted twice. - uglylaughingman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5You know what I find quite amusing?
The fact that a mentally incompetent, viciosu and stupid minority of people who through a combination of dirty tricks, lies, and sheer stupid luck have managed to hijack the American political process can somehow manage to believe that they are the majority. That and the fact that they consistently whine, bithc and cry about anyhtiong that doesn't support thier worldview, and then turn around and call the other side "whiners".
With apologies to Penny-arcade: You, sir, are the Dalai Lama of the ***** retards. - dsljohn, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7They are trying to selectively repress the vote, it is a targeted attack.
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I'm a registered Democrat. My phone number is on the national Do-Not-Call list. Nonetheless, I got one of these robo-calls. I still voted for the Democratic candidates I was planning to.
Guess the GOP's plan didn't work on me. Hopefully I'm not the only one. - an0nymous, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Here's a cache of instructions how to get there:

They pullled their webpage. - MobbyG, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Actually, I have been seeing this on local and national news stories about the robocalling. But getting the word out can't hurt!
- TheOther1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@ PanteroBlanco
WTF are you talking about? I'm a GA voter and all I had to do was show my DL or state issued ID. The state issued IDs are free! What do you suggest? No ID required at all? If you do not have a photo ID, how can you be sure the right person is voting?
We have to be sure those voting are US (and state) citizens and legally able to vote (non-felons). How else do you propose to do that? - osirisothedead, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4If you honestly believe it's possible to be a liberal and a fascist at the same time, you probably should read up on both terms. "Liberal elitist fascist" makes as much sense as "authoritarian Libertarian". Duh.
- VipeNess, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9this election is just like the rest, spend as much as you can to lie and cheat your way in, and not focus on the real thing. like there is a such thing anymore.
- eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6no, what's WORSE is that you don't pick up on the hypocrisy in your own sentence. please don't vote, your vote at best means nothing and at worst cancels out that of some informed person somewhere.
- jdepp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Fortunately, the NSA will be provided with a recorded copy of every call that GOP
made, so it shouldn't be too hard to hold them to account.
dirty terrists! - Sottilde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ p0s3r - Did you really say "fascist progressives"? Do you not realize that those are opposites?
- dsljohn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4To hear the robocall play the media file at:
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/11/06/enough-is-enough/ - TheOther1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ PanteroBlanco
You're right. They should have hauled all the equipment door to door and forced people to get an ID and forced the to register to vote. While they are at it, they can come to me and see if I looked for a job and deliver my unemployment check. Who the hell do they think they are? Expecting me to go to them...arrogant bastards!
If they had set up the buses @ the unemployment centers and welfare offices, would that make you happy? They did, still no takers. You can lead the indigent to the democratic well, but you can't make them drink! - eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8most of the more educated, successful and effective of my coworkers have been liberal.
- Singee15, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7Why would they want to suppress the vote??? The 2004 election had the highest voter turnout in history and the republicans won the president and congress
- Comatose51, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@nixonrichard2: It is fraud because FCC regulation requires you to identify yourself first at the beginning of the call. What these calls are doing is REPEATEDLY dialing someone's phone. By first saying something positive about the Democratic candidate, people think that it was the Democrats doing it. Only at the very end of the act does the call identify itself and start getting negative about the candidate. It's misleading and illegal. Basically, imagine war dialing voters and pretend it was the Democrats. This is ***** low.
- dstz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Probably 1 in 100 voters actually go the polls educated.
The other 99 base their vote off of TV, Radio, Internet, etc."
I sense some pointless elitism in that sentence, what's being educated ? do you believe than 99% of people are stupider than you and don't interpret news, just gobble it up ? even a hamster nows that news sources are not to be absolutely believed.
Or maybe yo think that people aren't clever enough to make educated politic choices (oh, wait, that's exactly what you said), and that Bush is not really there because of incocent, good, stupid americans ("don't diss the americans, diss bush" is a real moto everywhere, and it's *****). Well, a lot of people beg to differ. The capacity of the public to get the core of a politic is very effective, and you can't separate Bsuh form the americans. There's a south park ep on that point, so I know I'm not aloine to think that.
The public IS educated enough to decifer the 2/3 very important point of a politic, like why it was important to wage war against Irak, even if it turns out less than perfect, but still good enough given the real point, oil prices. Not a Bush problem, an american problem. - uglylaughingman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Trenchcoat- heh, yeah, you got me on that one.
The sentiment still stands, though I may have to add: and I am their Ghandi.
(Oh dear god, I am the Ghandi of the retards- I swear to you, when I posted that one, I actually managed to mis-spell 'sentiment'. Dur...) - kuwan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's nothing, check out Mark Levin's Suppress the Vote 2006 campaign ad:
http://marklevinfan.com/?p=1626
The best part is the endorsement at the end. - Gojulas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"and to be an American citizen you have to read on a 9th grad level???"
Ummm.... I think there are a fair number of native born Americans who can't read at that level.
People more comfortable reading Spanish =/= Illegals - kuwan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you think this in any way resembles what it would be like to live under the Nazis then yes, you do know very little.
- skankyBacon, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8Since when is it just the big, bad GOP? I've gotten calls from both parties.
- PhilliesBlunt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Eh. Felt like being a dick, so I responded to his ignorant generalization with one of my own. Like I said, partisan insults are fun.
- gregrich, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Both sides do it just in a different way; I would like to see the story as to how the Democrats encourage illegals, and those who are not eligible to go out and vote. Why is there not a story as to why the ballets are in English and Spanish when in order to vote you have to be an American citizen and to be an American citizen you have to read on a 9th grad level??? So while all day I see stories about how the Republicans are stealing votes and intimidating people on voting I have not seen one on how the Democrats get a large number of votes from illegal voters.... Both sides are sleaze balls when it comes to manipulating the vote!!!!
- jblossom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's such a perfect metaphor for Fascism: claim to be a "people power" movement but eliminate any people whose power you distrust.
When I was a child I was grateful that I would never have to live through anything like what people had to endure under the Nazis. Little did I know. - drewlander, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Liberal diggers work smarter, not harder, hence more time to digg stuff. You work hard for the same reason you vote conservative. You're too stupid to know any better."
Wow, that is very profound. Pure ownage.
What are you guys on this site, 12?
ITS POLITICS! Neither side plays more fair than the other. EVER. To believe otherwise is ignorant of reality. All you see on this site is one side, anyone ever search for the other, or is it easy to be a sheep. - ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3The Democrats have made 3 robocalls in one district. The Republicans have made hundreds of thousands across the country directed at Democratic districts.
Don't you get it? Your party is corrupt, and if you support your party's actions, you in turn are corrupt? Are you corrupt, or not? ***** step up. - TheOther1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You won't see anything like that on Digg!
- TheOther1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@ ZenMojo
Sources, please. I know I personally have received more than 3 calls in the last 2 weeks from the Dem party. Am I the only one they are calling? Just my luck... :-| - Aljavar, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3waaaaaaa..... waaaaaaa.....
That article is FULL of rumors built on rumors and I highly doubt it will turn out to be anything of substance. How come you diggers push this crap up? Quit being so quick to digg solely base on political bias. - musicjack, on 10/12/2007, -13/+11Both sides use robo calls. Grow up, get a job and stop whining.
