Labor should stick to the issues of managing Australia in terms of Drought management and Energy sustainability! Australians pay through the nose for broadband (What other countries consider dial up) and adding another cost on top of that just plays into the hands of the bastard company responsible for the massive cost of access, Telstra! Other players will be slugged additional costs they cannot absorb and the client once again will stuck with a third world system, assuming you can get broadband at all. Imagine dial up users reverting back to 24kb/s but worse, this is what Conroy has assumed is a good idea.
The second issue is the wording of what is filtered. Questionable or Illegal content! What is that and who gets to determine what is illegal and questionable? If my broadband connection and experience drops so much as .1 of a percent because of this inconsiderate bastard I'll be fuming. How dare they attempt to silence critics. I can't believe more Aussies aren't as passionate about this as I am.
Two choices Mr Conroy (by the way you don't deserve the Senator title); go jump on your plane to China and don't come back, OR cut the ***** and let everyone get on with their life, everyone knows the dirty child pornographers will still get their fix with or without your regime, so keep dreaming and do something useful with your so called 'power'.
