- jstohler, on 07/21/2008, -5/+139And then the submitter of this story misspells the word "misspells." Irony all around!
- jdh24, on 07/22/2008, -7/+89OH MY GOD, A TYPO. THIS IS SURELY FRONT PAGE-WORTHY.
- ccL1, on 07/21/2008, -11/+77Come on, give Fox a break. They are spelling words in a way their target audience can understand them. Fox is simply appealing to their market.
- unfinite, on 07/22/2008, -3/+33Spelling it wrong would be Edjacation or something, this is just a typo.
- paranoiabacon, on 07/22/2008, -4/+34I for one welcome our new mediocre submission overlords.
- FadieZ, on 07/22/2008, -0/+28Typo != Spelling error
Buried as lamenaccurate. - misreto, on 07/22/2008, -0/+21As much as I hate Fox News all I have to say is typo.
- bovox, on 07/22/2008, -1/+21I'm no fan of Fox News, but get real. It was a typo not evidence of their intellectual inferiority. If they had spelled it "educashun", then yes, it would be a misspelling. But it isn't. The ONLY irony here is that the idiot digging this doesn't know how to spell himself. (Read: mis-pell).
- sinurgy, on 07/22/2008, -3/+23Come on, give MakiMaki a break. He is submitting articles in a way his target audience can understand them. MakiMaki is simply appealing to his market.
- patpl22391, on 07/22/2008, -3/+23Buried for LAME, and MakiMaki, who pulls every story straight from his ass, or huffpo, which are arguable one in the same.
- MyMagma, on 07/21/2008, -10/+27"We don't need no thought control."
- angeltear01, on 07/21/2008, -10/+22Instead of an senior moment, Fox was having a GW Bush moment.
- djHBRD, on 07/21/2008, -2/+14Instead of a Bush moment, Fox was having a... Fox moment.
- konartis, on 07/22/2008, -0/+10"Edewcation" is a spelling error.
"Eductaion" is a typo.
They are both embarassing in this context, but there is a difference. - redslash, on 07/22/2008, -2/+11This is truly upsetting. How the heck have we screwed up digg so badly that this crap hits the front page?
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 07/22/2008, -6/+14It's spelled edumacation.
- toddcat, on 07/21/2008, -7/+15I think thou doth protest too much.
- bphicke, on 07/22/2008, -1/+9I bury everything I see from MakiMaki too.
- iamsmooth, on 07/22/2008, -0/+7This isn't really diggworthy; it's just a typo. If they spelled it "educasion" or something retarded like that, then I would digg with all my might.
- scoottie, on 07/22/2008, -1/+8You too?
- MadKennyP, on 07/21/2008, -12/+19I agree with djHBRD, the average Fox News viewer wouldn't have noticed.
A recent study by the Pew Research Study shows that viewers of the Daily Show and the Colbert Report have the highest knowledge of national and international affairs, while Fox News viewers rank nearly dead last.
http://people-press.org/reports/display.php3?Repor ... - scoottie, on 07/22/2008, -0/+6And no other news organization has made similar mistakes?
- toddcat, on 07/21/2008, -4/+10C'mon.....let's not put too much fault on their viewers. The average age of O'Reilly's audience is 71. This man is manipulating and fear-mongering our parents and grand-parents. They should have to tell the truth and the FCC does not force them to and the media has dropped us into this vast vat of infotainment over the last 10 years. The obligation on FOX should be for them to be more truthful.
- inactive, on 07/22/2008, -7/+13LOL, Lefty Loonies! That one must have taken you all day to think up. You should be proud; it's both alliterative and meaningless!
- hawkeye17, on 07/22/2008, -13/+19"Lefty Loonies"...you're so clever. Stop posting before you hurt yourself.
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 07/22/2008, -3/+9Instead of a moment, Fox was having a nap.
- poidh, on 07/22/2008, -1/+6OMG someone missed out a "t". Let's get it to the Digg front page without delay!
- niczar, on 07/22/2008, -7/+12And if they didn't watch it, you'd complain that they'd have no standing for criticizing it.
- Karmavs, on 07/22/2008, -2/+7Damn… you didn’t make any typos. I guess I’ll have to resort to this:
It’s ‘misspelt’, not ‘misspelled’.
Clearly my use of British English proves beyond a doubt my superiority. Right? Please? - hypodan, on 07/22/2008, -2/+7You aren't the first.

- paradigm1220, on 07/22/2008, -5/+10I actually think he was just playing off the joke.
- jman583, on 07/22/2008, -2/+7G-G-G-GO BACH TO 4CHAN!
- idastheman, on 07/22/2008, -1/+5Agreed. This article is stupid.
- MedicDave29, on 07/22/2008, -4/+8In all honesty, Fox is a breath of fresh air compared to the leftist spin on news the other big media outlets fall back on. Fox isn't perfect, far from it, and I think their misspelling of the word "education" isn't a fair assesment of the competency and character of their journalism. They still have alot more integrity than the rest of the television news and print media. I remember my first tour in Iraq in '03 and how terrible the mainstream press was in reporting on Abu Ghraib and in bad mouthing our soldiers night after night.
Feel free to flame or bury.
MedicDave29 - OIF 03 - 04 / 07 - 08 - inactive, on 07/22/2008, -2/+6There's a difference between a misspelling and a typo. But I don't expect people afflicted with Fox News Derangement Syndrome to acnkowledge that.
- LastVisibleDog, on 07/29/2008, -0/+3nope - took a couple seconds (see it is stating the obvious)
- M724, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3Fox News is making spelling mistakes now! In time it'll implode!
Seriously, guys. Everybody makes mistakes when typing. I'm not defending anyone here, I'm just saying it's a minor error that went unchecked. I had to backspace and correct my typing in this comment about five times before I submitted. - LiquidShield, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3Look at all the English teachers online reading digg. Is it because it said fox new and you all just had to click and read it.
Maybe I should have read more digg articles like this in school then maybe I would be a proficient speller or user of the English language. Ah what the hell do I care if you people want to be word mongers. Make your self feel good by point out the flaws of there's, because they happen use a hyphen in a wrong place or miss spell a word. Go take your community college degree, and go teach at a middle school some where in middle America.
Damn grammar Nazis. - peterfnet, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3Me tree **sp** three
- LastVisibleDog, on 07/29/2008, -0/+3I wasn't protesting. (sorry to ruin your line - maybe you need more material)
- moisie, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2To be fair, although it should have been caught I doubt the person typing it thought that was the spelling, rather they just mistyped it.
- eviljolly, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2*guitar solo*
- inactive, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2No, it's THINKPROGRESS. One in the same though.
- LastVisibleDog, on 07/29/2008, -1/+3no. I think wingnuts are idiots - be they left or right.
- zaptoman, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Gasp! Spelling errors PROVE the vast right-wing conspiracy! Impeach now! Elect the Obamanation!
- faizal5k, on 07/22/2008, -2/+4All in all you're just another brick in the wall...
- SolidSnak, on 07/22/2008, -1/+3Come on guys, its an common mistake. The 'a' key is very close to both the 't' and 'i' keys.
- rearlgrant, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Actually, I'd agree.
Funny -- I read a lot as a child, a disproportionate amount of that was non-American English. In primary school I was consistently told I was a poor speller -- ok. So off I went to University and by coincidence all my professors were from UK universities. Within a week each of them told me "I've never met an American that can spell so well." Sometimes a person isn't a poor speller, they are just in the wrong place. English is fun that way. I'm working my way through a great book titled "The Adventure of English." I have to get to Wessex when I finally have more time in London than just trying to make the connection to my next flight. - logload, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2i was looking for this on this page
