Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics:
* 29 have been accused of spousal abuse
* 7 have been arrested for fraud
* 19 have been accused of writing bad checks
* 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
* 3 have done time for assault
* 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
* 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
* 8 have been arrested for shoplifting
* 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
* 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year...
Can you guess which organization this is?
It's the 535 members of the United States Congress.
Yes we need to clear them out!! - Wiggles2, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21We need to seriously clean house in '06 and '08. This is just unbelievable.

The Dallas Morning-News is not a "radical left-wing" website.
This is a case of poor judgement from both Mr. Jackson and the contractor in this case. I'm not sure if Jackson's behavior is illegal, but it certainly raises questions.
Read the source article. It's pretty interesting. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18Yeah, it is.
If by 'this' you mean the level of corruption in our government. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13anti bush article.. marking as inaccurate
Bush was installed by god and hence nothing he can do is bad.[sarcasm and making fun of the neos] - hawkeye17, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18Bush Co = Payola Scandal perpetrated at the expense of Americans.
- frankjfan, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14The Bush Agenda:
"Unneccessary War, Debt and Corruption" - dtfinch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7They'll stop appearing when people stop digging them. I don't mind them, but if it really pisses you off, you could bookmark http://digg.com/users/jlegum/submitted and start burying the ones you find inaccurate.
- haggie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The best part of this article is Bush rubbing the head of a bald black man. Guess he wants all the good luck he can get before mid-term elections...
- corporate70, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@Horseshoe
AMEN!!!! - xutopia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Dude if this was a lie then Bush and co could sue for libel and put them in prison. Snap out of it. Reality is knocking
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Explain the innacuracy lastvisibledog...
if you can't just shut the ***** up, and suck on your huevos... - halavais, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8xutopia:
No he couldn't. Slandering a public official about his job is sedition, and in the US sedition is not illegal. You can't threaten the president legally, but you can pretty much lie about him all you want.
Oh, and while sedition DOES often include a prison sentence in countries where it is illegal, libel in the US won't lead to jail. As you note, you can only *sue* for libel, and only collect damages.
(Before you digg me down for political non-compliance, I'm not saying that this article is a lie--in fact it seems to fall in line with other examples of the Administration playing favorites--just that you generally can't sue for libel if you are a sitting president.) - Yage2006, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Sad to say this but i wouldn't be surprised the republicans win again,
They have several of the right card's in there hand. Some of witch appeal to the lowest denominator.
The religion card . That also comes with the discrimination card and the treat women like property card. As well as sexism homophobia etc. this alone will gain them allot.
The war card. Allot of people like to kill especially rednecks. So vote for republicans = kill more Arab's> And even those who will proclaim they are not racist may secretly endorse it.
The money card . Big business loves the Republicans
The greed card. The most uncharitable political party on earth it appeals to peoples want/need to see others suffer.
The fear card. This works very well for them and can even get those who don't want the other cards to vote for them.
The torture card. Again this will appeal to many in some secret guilty pleasure way.
Well it looks like they have a full house. Enjoy the police state sleep tight and be happy.
Now bury this cause nobody wants to hear the brutal truth about the true human nature of most americans. - Alphabet, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I like how conservatives always attack the arguer and not the argument. A fact is still a fact, no matter who says it.
- lateralus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Oh in that case it's ok. I'm glad you pointed that out, otherwise it could've lead to the assertion that the Bush administration and it's appointees practice cronyism.
Move along, nothing to see here, move along... - philonous, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It would have been nice had the original poster linked to the article cited by the liberal site.
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/nation/stories/DN-jackson_21nat.ART.North.Edition1.3e86bf8.html
The investigation did find that the HUD secretary is a crony, but it also found that he failed to exert much influence on the department. In other words, the people working under him had the good sense to ignore him.
And, this, he claims, exonerates him!! By this logic, Bush is untouchable because all transgressions are committed by his subordinates, regardless of what he ordered.
Or something like that. Anyway, The article certainly agrees with every single account of the Bush Administration: rampant cronyism. This much is indisputable. - tazmeister, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How can these people stand in front of our country and claim things like having "good family" or "christian" values? Oh yeah, that's right. They lie.
How do you tell when Bush is lying? His lips are moving and Fox news is telling us how brilliant he was, even more so than when he manages to say something truthful.
Replace Bush with "conservative politician" and it works. Remove Fox news and and replace Bush with politician and then its almost universally true. Its just right now the GOP is the establishment. So if this were a star wars film, the liberals would be the rebel alliance. Cheney would be the Darth Vader, Bush Tarkin, and Rove or who ever is the puppet master would be the emperor.
Yes that's right, the GOP IS in fact the establishment and the media is mostly in their control too, so no the liberal bias is in fact just a minor drop of clarity in the oil spill that is the conservative spin machine. Oh and there other little drop is the actual honest conservative agenda, but who can tell it from all the sludge? - bjwaggoner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wrong place
- gardnert1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If the media wasn't in the Republican's pocket the whole country would hear things like this and all the other illegal and ***** things the Bush Admin has been doing and they'd be in an uproar for his impeachment. But since that is not the case....
I'll bet the majority of the elections this year are won by Republicans and, coincidentally, there will be a lot of "problems" with the polling stations. Although both Reps and Dems steal votes, the Reps keep on winning which can mean only one thing. - whiskeymb, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9corruption in THIS administration?! NO!!!!! /sarcasm
- tazmeister, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You forgot "to let your friends take ungodly advantage of the system all for the own personal advantage and all at the cost of the very people you're supposed to be serving." That's serving not screwing.
- Sonic84, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2as opposed to rewarding Bush's enemies?

- BadMonkey0001, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@horseshoe Those numbers are good to keep in mind, but also remember that the list is about 7 years old now. Below is a link to the very same list - word for word - from January 2000. Scroll down to the "Joke of the Day" to find it.

I'm not trying to knock your point that congress is corrupt, but someone needs to update that joke. The numbers today are sure to include money laundering and campaign finance charges.
(haha - captcha: "atwtf") - bjwaggoner, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3haha, just cause someone disagrees with you, you tell them to STFU. Wow. This place is becoming a basiton of *****.
Its innaccurate because this is what happens in the real world. You get elected into power, you put people you know and trust into positions. Happens in business and everywhere else.
Move on. - axxiom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Blogs are opinion based sources. Ergo, they belong in the Political Opinion section.
Jedd is going for progress, but don't forget to think first. - toasty168, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4bush is a diseased blight upon the landscape of democracy. however, he hasn't gotten to where he is or done what he has done without the support of somebody. he's too stupid. he's just a puppet. how can he be anything else? he's retarded for $%$@ sake. who's pulling the strings??? my tin foil hat is on. is yours?
- chatty82, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0No one from Iraq will be awarded a housing contract, but everyone from Iran will! That's right, Iran is Bush's new friend!
In his speech before the UN yesterday, Bush said that Texans differed with the UN in wanting to impose sanctions on Iran for uranium enrichment activities. A few weeks ago he was speaking on TV about the "threat of the Iranian state-sponsored terrorist organization Hepzbollah." Now he says that the people of Iraq can enrich the uranium for peaceful purposes.
He just found out about the Human Rights Covenant of 1950 too and quoted that frequently in his book report. I'd give him a D. - nesquik, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2The one thing I can respect of Bush Administration is the balls they have to slap us in the face like this.
- bjwaggoner, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1You guys are so jaded and blind.
Welcome to the real world, where connections and knowing people is just as important if not more important than your skills.
Some of you may hate it, but thats the real world. You think they would give jobs to people they dont know when they could give it to someone they know and is qualified?
Stop drinking the left wing kool aid. - kolobcreek, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4What the frankjfan? Come up with some original material. Put some thought into your comments. You and your propaganda movement boar me.
- corporate70, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Um, big freaken deal. Everyone in politics does this. I'm not saying its good, but everyone on Capitol Hill does this. That is how they are able to raise campaign cash.
- halavais, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Put it in the wrong place... sorry, digg down.

"The best part of this article is Bush rubbing the head of a bald black man. Guess he wants all the good luck he can get before mid-term elections..."
First of all it is not an article - it is rambling from a nobody on an extremist blog. Where did you get the idea he as rubbing his head? Just making up "facts" as you go along?
Are the Digg Democrats going to link every bit of unsupported propaganda from ThinkProgress? - kylesellers, on 10/12/2007, -15/+8Wow, 6 items on the frontpage are from thinkprogress.org. This is getting ridiculous...
- Jeffy, on 10/12/2007, -12/+4Time to get a grip.. Again...
The contract was for ADVERTISING. It was not for building or housing.
It looks as though most DIGG users would hire an advertiser that likes to speak poorly about their products or management. I usually look for an advertiser who is willing to say good things about my company.
It is just that simple. Time to move along and look for another reason to hate the government. - LastVisibleDog, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2Looks like the left wing extremist blog ThinkProgress is merging with Digg.
More inaccurate rambling from a nobody on an extremist blog. - kolobcreek, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2****TAKE THE POWER BACK****
BURY THIS BIASED BLOG
Only you can prevent intellectual pollution. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -16/+1It is going to be frightening how fast Digg's cedibility takes a tumble of ***** Think Progress articles keep making the home page.
