What the hell is wrong with her? - eratus, on 06/11/2008, -2/+25Ladies and gentlemen, here are the members of said committee. If you feel the chairman needs to take action on this matter, let the members of the committee know. I would recommend scanning the list to see if there is a member from your state, then google the name to find contact info.
Everyone should contact the chairman at http://www.house.gov/conyers/contactform_zipcheck. ...
Or, give his office a call at (202) 225-5126.
Or, fax him at (202) 225-0072

- gyllensvard, on 06/12/2008, -1/+18THANK YOU MR KUCINICH!
- Bagos1, on 06/12/2008, -1/+17No, it really is comfort addiction. The highlight of the day is still American Idol. Things are not bad in America yet.....but it's coming.
- rugrat54, on 06/11/2008, -3/+18Stand Up.
- zelduh, on 06/11/2008, -2/+17FABULOUS!
I understand that while a sitting president is in impeachment proceedings, he cannot PARDON anyone.
Does anyone know if that is true? - principle, on 06/11/2008, -3/+18Chairman of the Judiciary Committee Rep. John Conyers said that Impeachment can be conducted even after Bush leaves office. So this resolution can sit in Judiciary Committee until then.

- cbrouillet, on 06/12/2008, -0/+15There are a number of candidates running for office on an Impeachment Platform- We think that it is imperative to impeach Bush and Cheney and to reverse their policies- to stop endless war and the attacks on our Constitution and human rights everywhere. Please put the pressure on the committee, on Congress, if they don't move forward on Impeachment- oust them with candidates who will work for the people, not the corporations and the war machine. And if your Congressman and other candidates are not for impeachment, run for office yourself. We need a clean sweep of those who lack courage or have sold out and have enabled Bush and Cheney to go on the rampage for all these years.

Green Party Candidate CA District 14 - zelduh, on 06/11/2008, -7/+21NO. Fear of suddenly disappearing.
- InetRoadkill, on 06/12/2008, -0/+13That's absolutely wrong. Impeachment should not be confused with a criminal proceeding. Impeachment/conviction just removes the office holder from office before his term expires. Criminal indictments are done separately and can be done at any time.
- Zarokima, on 06/12/2008, -0/+12And yet ***** like http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=hr11 ... passes with an overwhelming majority. WTF?
- zelduh, on 06/11/2008, -4/+12It should proceed and be pending while he is in office, so that Bush does not start a war with Iran, declare Marshall Law, and cancel an upcoming election. (Other than that, I guess it could wait.)
- PeaceChicken, on 06/11/2008, -2/+10Yes, now it's time to hold Conyers' a$$ over the flames!! Rep. Wexler, co-sponsor of this bill, sits on this committee as well, which is reassuring, no?
- bungle8, on 06/12/2008, -1/+9Nothing, just a typical, political scum.
- InetRoadkill, on 06/11/2008, -4/+11That's false. You can't remove someone from office after they've already left office. That doesn't make sense.
However, he can still face criminal charges after leaving office (and he should) along with war crimes prosecution. - Adenosine, on 06/12/2008, -0/+7Well don't underestimate the laziness of congress.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the bill would need to be read in entirety again before heading to committee; at 4+ hours, I could imagine the house passing just to let the senate deal with it so the house doesn't need to hear it again. - inactive, on 06/12/2008, -1/+8She is the Neo Cons bitch...
And she will do worse if she needs to so why upset the den of thieves? - Shellius, on 06/11/2008, -2/+8It's not like it had much of a chance but it's in the record!
You can help --
Call Congress, it's important that we flood the Congressional lines with phone calls in favor of impeachment. Call John Conyers and Nancy Pelosi and tell them impeachment is OFF THE TABLE 202 225-3121 CALL THEM - TheRealToma, on 06/12/2008, -0/+6Just like in the movies! :O
Seriously, that should be even more motivation to band together and fix whats broken. - tehWyman, on 08/19/2009, -1/+7I'm a Christian and I am overwhelmingly pissed off that this would even be brought up.
Fortunately it's just a resolution and not law, though.
Just so everyone remembers:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion"
Obviously our legislators have forgotten. - jrlucas, on 06/12/2008, -1/+6When did outright refusing to even consider an objective stance on a situation coincide with one's responsibilties of public office? Oh, Nancy...
- AugustusOsari, on 06/12/2008, -0/+5Our legislators have forgotten what?
Oh, the Constitution?
I guess you didn't get the memo, but we deemed that old thing to be nonsense quite a long time ago. Sometime around 1865, as I recall. - bphicke, on 06/12/2008, -1/+6Everyone always points to people who watch American Idol, but I have never actually met anyone who admits watching it.
- PotatoSamurai, on 06/11/2008, -2/+7Yeah, cause we can always rely on the Reforms and Greens to do things. Anything. At all. Whatsoever.
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -0/+5Someone else's problem....
If cops could march in your door and smash you and the house apart I would be so pissed off! Americans, ***** wake up! - avandelay20, on 06/12/2008, -1/+5Pelosi didn't like H. Clinton (meeooWWW) and and is now protecting Bush - I smell a pussy.
- jynweythek, on 09/17/2008, -0/+4It is never too late for Justice!!!
- Adenosine, on 06/12/2008, -1/+5Well Gentleman Wexler's on there, which is good because he seconded the bill
- guyvestal, on 06/12/2008, -1/+5All of you folks talk up alot of support, but is anyone ready to march in the streets to accomplish what you type here?
spiffistan here actually made a joke about it, but it can also be a serious question. Remember, Americans have seized the streets before in history, and we were born of a revolutionary war, just like many countries in the world have been, or are in the process of now.
Maybe we need to start remembering where we came from, before we forget for good.

-Leo Tolstoy - mr5150, on 06/12/2008, -1/+5As much as I would love to see Darth Cheney and his Bitch Chimp get screwed with impeachement charges...i'll believe it when i see it..until then President ***** and Puppetmaster remain protected by the prince of darkness himself.
- guyvestal, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3Apart from the profanity... How true your statement is. Americans have been asleep for a while. Not Bush though friend... Americans went to sleep after JFK was clipped.
http://www.guyvestal.com - tigerduck, on 06/12/2008, -1/+4Unfortunately, this is a dead deal! As stated Kucinich has tried before. These attempts are simply sent to committees and buried, never to see the light of day.
Why is everyone so afraid to do this? Impeachment was designed to protect democracy and to prevent our President from becoming a self proclaimed autocrat, dictator, emperor or what ever he may want to refer to himself as.
Congress had the audacity to impeach Clinton for a lie that hurt him and his family, Bush has lied and hurt the entire world where is the democracy? - floorman56, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3Why is everyone so afraid to do this?
The nightmare of having Bill Clinton in congress saying he believed there were WMD's
The nightmare of Madeleine Albright in congress saying she believed there were WMD's
The Nightmare of the Bush defence use there own words that thay said YEARS before Bush came to office saying They believed he had WMD's
( Do a Google search there are a 100 quotes in the 90's)
The Nightmare of Bush dropping H.R.4655 on the table and saying he was doing what congress wanted - jessehadden, on 06/12/2008, -1/+4The problem is, as we learned during the record-breaking protests against the invasion of Iraq... nowadays, when we take the streets, the news media will point the cameras the other way. And then the cops come in and get violent. "They" really do have near-total control over the perceptions of the people.
- anarcurt, on 06/12/2008, -1/+3Honestly, these folks are up for reelection. If enough of us can demand it, with a no vote equating to us voting for someone else, then maybe we can get this started (so it can get killed in the Senate). A National impeachment rally in every city would be a good start.
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -1/+3Go Dennis go!
- shotgunsusie, on 06/12/2008, -1/+3sad, but true
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 06/12/2008, -1/+3Bush can't be prosecuted because as one of the articles of impeachment against him claims, he destroyed evidence of his "high crimes" and "misdemeanors" on multiple occasions.
At least Richard Nixon held onto and didn't destroy the tape that eventually incriminated him, leading to his resignation. - Izult, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2and then lied about it under oath!
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -1/+3Too many thieves and con men work at the white house. This ain't never going to pass! If only George had sex with an intern.....
- Izult, on 06/12/2008, -1/+3she was bought and paid for before she took office.
- PopcornDave, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1I don't know that canceling the election would be such a bad thing given the choices we have.
/sarcasm - punditious1, on 06/12/2008, -1/+2Now you Democrats are getting a taste of what the Republican grassroots have had to deal with for quite some time. An elite at the top of the party that looks down on you with disdain. Pelosi and Conyers know which side their bread is buttered on: the top. The bottom is out of sight, out of mind. Just like all us filthy proles in this country.
It's time to face the fact that we have a ruling elite at the top of both parties. And it's time to break the lock they have on what happens and doesn't happen in government. - mplumb, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1But Bush and Cheny were RE-ELECTED. And as far as unpopularity goes, the only lower approval rating than the Executive branch lies with the Legislative branch. So if Bush is bad, the ones you're entrusting to "clean sweep" him are worse.
