- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+17Well all you idiots who were deliriously happy when the White House and both houses of Congress became Democrat must be elated with this "climate change" bill. Of course, you know as well as I that it's not going to do one thing to affect "climate change;" it's simply the largest tax increase in American history.
But you're getting what you voted for. Be happy! Yay! - inactive, on 07/09/2009, -2/+15Imbeciles, why not wake up and realize it's all just a good reason to tax the ***** out of you.
- curtisag, on 07/09/2009, -3/+13Meanwhile, China says they are not going to limit CO2 emissions. As their economy grows, they will continue to use the cheapest energy source available, oil, coal, etc. The net result of all this is easy to figure out. World CO2 emissions will continue to grow until science comes up with a power source that's actually more cost effective than dirty solutions. We need massive research into fusion or some other wild technology like zero point energy or cold fusion. Solar, wind, etc, doesn't provide enough energy density to make it economical for developing nations to adopt it. This bill does nothing but shoot our economy in the foot when that foot is already on fire.
- fuzzyllama, on 07/08/2009, -3/+13I think the deal would be done if they added bacon instead of pork.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+9Australia is trying to do the same thing, though it has been blocked. It gives money to polluters and takes from the general tax pool while upping charges by nearly double for utilities. It is nothing more than a scam. Clean coal is a scam, carbon tax is a scam. More horses to bet on at the stock market (Futures, bonds, shares traded). ***** em!
The Australian model also allows retail electricity companies to take credits for those who have solar, giving the solar powered families nothing, they will still pay the taxes while the retailer collects the carbon credits. Scam! Corporate circle jerk! - chieffan, on 07/09/2009, -1/+9Much like how the high gas prices brought our economy to our knees last year, imagine what this will do when everyone is forced to pay 25% or more in utilities and everything else. Meanwhile, any remaining factory jobs will be driven out of the US.
Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack recently was trying to sell this to Iowa farmers and was telling them they would make more money. How you ask? The government will be sending them a check for their losses. - DiggCommando, on 07/09/2009, -1/+8Remember the wooden arrow shafts bit on the first bailout bill?
- Ferretman, on 07/09/2009, -1/+8Obama voters -- sorry yet?
- darkened, on 07/09/2009, -1/+7Where's my check to pay for increased energy costs that will be passed along to me and the rest of the USA?!
- mnocket, on 07/09/2009, -1/+6So Obama was just funning with us when he pledged to eliminate earmarks and go through the budget line-by-line to eliminate waste? All bills have pork - no big deal - no point in changing things, just talk about changing things - that all middle America cares about.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+5This bill is just another way for the government to control us.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+4Because, uh, Obama has no desire to do it? Obama wants the federal government to become as big and powerful as possible. Wake up.
- xmaschimp, on 07/08/2009, -4/+7Speaking of pork, I'm sure it's like a visit to sausage factory -- no matter how good it the end product might be, you don't want to see what goes into making it happen...
- falstaff, on 07/09/2009, -2/+5"Horse Trading & Pork Accompany EVERY Bill in Senate - EVER"
Fixed - BearKill, on 07/10/2009, -1/+4Cap and Tax is just another scam cooked up by liberals to steal your money and execute another huge transfer of wealth from the productive to the unproductive members of society. It will destroy jobs and wealth. What else is new? This is the Obama way--to undo everything that made this country great--as quickly as possible. It's mid July and I have not turned on my air conditioners once here in NYC. Global warming is a scam!
- darkened, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3Obama is an abject failure already, he's only continually making himself worse and worse off.
- 4AntiStupid, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3Cross out "Climate Change" for a more general rule.
- mnocket, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3Obama's Pledge to Address Horse Trading Accompanying EVERY BILL in Senate = Empty Promise
Fixed - DreadPirate, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2And this is a good thing? There is a group actually looking to greatly decrease the amount of pork in bills that get passed - You may want to look into it rather than shrugging your shoulders and acting like an apathetic moron.
- MiddleAmerica, on 07/09/2009, -2/+3Big deal. All bills have horse trading & pork.
- 3tcp, on 07/09/2009, -3/+4Instead of addressing just a couple issues the right way and solving them for good, Obama is trying to address everything at once. He's spreading his political capital so thin that bills have to be packed with pork and handouts to special interests in order to get them passed.
It's important for the President to keep congress in line to make sure that legislation is what's best for the country as a whole. What is best for the country is not to give handouts to energy companies and pork projects in a bunch of districts in order to buy votes. Bill Clinton was able to do it, why can't Obama? - BearKill, on 07/10/2009, -1/+1Will you be that apathetic when 70% of your income goes to various taxes?
- Shwaavay, on 07/09/2009, -3/+3And what's so good about Cap and Tax?
- endisnighe, on 07/10/2009, -1/+1Obama fanatics are like arguing with someone from the movie Idiocracy.
- endisnighe, on 07/10/2009, -1/+1Water power is real. All one has to do is fracture the water into component hydrogen and oxygen where you also strip electrons off the oxygen and which provides power also when the ignition is setoff. Equivalent power 1 liter h2o=20 gals of water and no water is lost just converted to water and oxygen.
- Zique, on 07/09/2009, -9/+5In before idiots who think they know more than the scientific community. Oh wait...
- MiddleAmerica, on 07/09/2009, -9/+4Big deal.
All bills have horse trading & pork.
