Everyone knows that Jesus, as a model for perfect behavior, shunned the wicked and drove them away from him. This is why we see no examples of him associating with tax collectors, prostitutes, or other people who have chosen to live improperly. In fact, we can quote Christ on the cross saying to the man being executed along side him: "While I enter the Kingdom of my Father, you will surely burn for your evil ways."

There are indicators that some genes may contribute to the biological changes that occur in homosexuals, but not a specific gene that is responsible for sexual orientation. If we ever discover how, I believe we will allow people to take treatments to change their sexual orientation, but they should be of the age to decide for themselves.

Ms. Kern is likely otherwise an upstanding, loving, value oriented person. But her demonizing her son’s most closely held intimate feelings has proved to have had very destructive and demoralizing consequences. Instead of blaming herself for not encouraging her son to seek out a lifelong, monogamous, honest relationship with someone he loves regardless of gender, she is blaming society for “making” her son gay.
