- Charlotte_Web, on 10/01/2008, -6/+23I'm assuming that voter registration rules are so lax in Ohio now that you don't even have to prove that you are a citizen of the country.
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -4/+18I LOVE to see Dems spending their money on feeding the hungry and ferrying the homeless to vote . . . f/Dems, presumably. This is practically the only instance where one can point to something substantial-in-the-now and say, "See? Dems DO perform charitable work."
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -4/+17The obviousness of such blatant corruption is Chicago politics !!
Why bother to vote, there already (in your face) telling you the answer !!!!! - buddywlkr3, on 10/01/2008, -4/+16The world has lots of experience with registering uneducated, unemployed and penniless people to vote for its nation's leaders. The result is almost always the same. People who have nothing and contribute nothing to society will always vote for the person or the party that will give them the biggest handout. And, as we well know, the Democratic party is the king of the handouts. Yes, by all means, we will take you to the polls, give you lunch and maybe even some cash, so that you can vote us into power. Hitler used this tactic to get elected in Germany. Peron used this tactic in Argentina, and used the negras cabecitas to stay in power. The Democrats use the tactic today. And the truth is, of course, that this penniless, homeless people are nothing more than tools to get them elected. Once in power, they will be forgotten until the next election, another cab ride, another bottle of wine, etc.
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -4/+13Here's a repeat-joke-with-point . . .
I asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grew up. She said she wanted to be US Prez some day. Both of her parents, liberal Dems, were standing there, so I asked her, "If you were Prez, what would be the 1st thing you would do?"
She replied, "I'd give food & houses to all the homeless people."
"Wow, what a worthy goal! But, you don't have to wait `til you're Prez to do that: You can come over to my house right now and mow, weed, & sweep, and I'll pay you fifty bux. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out and you can give him the $50 to use toward food & a new house.
She thought that over a few seconds while her Mom glared at me; then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work? Then you could just pay him the $50!"
I said, "Welcome to the Repub Party."
Her folks still aren't talking to me.
In my extant experience in this thrust of over 30 yrs, the homeless live downtown, ctr-cty: under overpasses, in cars, tertiary "business" sections, on the streets. A very few live outside the cty limits, in the woods. If the "down-towners" were truly interested in politics, couldn't they just walk over to the registration ctr and sign up to vote? I'll presume Libs are still glaring at me, but then I don't know any L`n´Ls personally who ever "actually" took on the homeless. - buddywlkr3, on 10/01/2008, -5/+14The world has lots of experience with registering uneducated, unemployed and penniless people to vote for its nation's leaders. - ncsifsf08, on 10/01/2008, -2/+8Nice point
Most "normal" people aren't even interested enough in politics to go vote. Why would a homeless. - elleigh2, on 10/01/2008, -4/+9Just look at the intelligence there! Makes me want to puke! If you can BUY an election the big O has the $$ to do it!
- ncsifsf08, on 10/01/2008, -3/+8Oh please! That is so absurd it's laughable. You know exactly what's going on here and you can't spin it any other way.
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -2/+6Unfortunately, there are only a few states that require proof of citizenship.
- ncsifsf08, on 10/01/2008, -3/+7Well said! And oh so true.
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/01/2008, -2/+4Well, that's true. But, if I understand correctly, Ohio is allowing voters to register and vote on the same day?
It's a system that's shockingly rife with potential for fraud. - inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2The people running that corrupt organization should be indicted for voter fraud.
- deathsythe, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2He doesn't need to buy it- he can just promise to do things and the ignorant blinded people will listen to his charismatic voice.
- drachemorder, on 10/01/2008, -2/+4Right... it doesn't matter if these folks are informed about the issues, have a good understanding of the problems facing the country, or even really care that much about the election. It just matters that they have hope.
Spoken like a true 0bamabot. - wiretransfer, on 10/02/2008, -1/+3Or, "It doesn't matter if these folks are informed about the issues, have a good understanding of the problems facing the country, or even really care that much about the election. It just matters that they are homeless."
If it hasn't been proven that these are fraudulent registrations, you are being anti-democratic.
We do not block people from voting if they are stupid, ill-informed, or congenitally biased -- why should housing status, in the absence of any other disqualifying factor, be a reason to deny a vote? - eliot2000, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2It's always someone else until it's you.
- tjordanchat, on 10/01/2008, -6/+7Guy, Remember, we are talking about the less fortunate here. Have a heart. Participation in a general election can give them the hope which they need. America can take a lesson from this taxi guy in helping the lowest of the lows pull themselves up. I do not believe in handouts so teaching these guys to control their destiny is one giant step for man kind. Even if it is just a small step for them. GET OUT THE VOTE. -------------------------------- AMERICA. Remember to VOTE. EVERYONE
- Glynth, on 10/04/2008, -0/+1Tell me why it's always the Democrats that tie in special "incentives" to the voting process if it's all so on-the-up-and-up? Free flu shots, food, even cash - all stunts pulled or attempted by the Democrats in previous years - and all only if you go to the polls. No such luck if it's not election day, of course! Their "charity" only goes so far.
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -3/+4You rock KJeffV! Almost peed myself laughing!
- drachemorder, on 10/01/2008, -2/+3Much of which $$, it now appears, comes from foreign donors...
- shauntacular, on 10/01/2008, -2/+3They've already given them a free ride, I bet they'll give them a free meal and a hand job after they leave the booth on election day.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -1/+2High praise indeed, Bro! Thank you.
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -4/+3Bread and circuses baby! It got many of the Roman emperors out of a tight spot. I wonder how many bums got a free bottle of hooch out of the deal?
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -2/+1I doubt many of these people will actually show up on election day.
- kurttrail, on 10/02/2008, -3/+1"Oh, dear Lord. We are so screwed." - Michelle Malkin
Naw, you Rightards were screwed by Bush long ago. Just Karma catching up to ya'll.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! - rebrad, on 10/01/2008, -4/+2Acorn will provide any documentation required. A library card or an electric bill is good enough.
