- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -41/+453It's in Tennessee...
- COINTELPROAgent, on 02/14/2008, -14/+218Sad that it comes from a supposed Christian. The man's race shouldn't matter anyway, but to discriminate against Cohen for NOT being black and FOR being Jewish... that's disturbed.
- PoopOnPaul, on 02/14/2008, -13/+208"It's a chink in my armor," Cohen says.
Did anybody else find that extremely and hilariously ironic, in a purely unintentional way? - GhostWithToast, on 02/14/2008, -4/+170That flier has it all. Hate, Racism, Fear, Ignorance, Bigotry, and Bad Grammar. Seems like those things often go hand in hand.
- ikcilabd, on 02/14/2008, -6/+145Did you ever read the bible? theres all sorts of crazy ***** in there...
...like did you know, Jesus was a Jew?
/ClerksII - jonvdveen, on 02/14/2008, -6/+97Dear Racist Douche,
Thanks for making all of us Christians look like intolerant pricks. Your attitude is certainly very akin to that of Jesus (sarcasm).
p.s. Clever use of fonts! The way you wrote "hate" really made me feel a sense of support for your cause. - emiles, on 02/14/2008, -5/+85Especially since Jesus himself was Jewish and did not preach anti-Semitism.
- glasnostic, on 02/14/2008, -16/+80replace "JEW" with "MUSLIM" and you have a republican talking point.
I'm glad though that these bigots are open about their hate, keep them in the light so we can all see and avoid them. - tman84, on 02/14/2008, -4/+58It seems like black people being racist against Jews, so I'm guessing this won't make national news. Only white people can be racist according to the media.
- staxofmax, on 02/14/2008, -3/+46There will always be ***** insane crazy people. It's more than a little bit bigoted to portray the rantings of a group of ***** insane crazy people as a commonly held view of the citizens in Tennessee.
- AJanitor, on 02/14/2008, -4/+46Sounds to me like the man who sent in the flier "hates" Jesus, since he ignored everything Jesus ever taught.
- fitqueenb, on 02/14/2008, -15/+56Wow! I could not think that way..... When is this craziness going to go away?
- TheTaoOfBill, on 02/14/2008, -8/+49I still don't think this is a common thing in America. Just watch. I'll bet this makes his candidacy stronger than ever just to combat the racist reputation Tennessee and other southern states have had since the civil war.
- Otto, on 02/14/2008, -4/+41FFS...
Those of you blaming this sort of ***** on "the South" are as ignorant as the guy blaming everything on the Jews.
First off, this has nothing to do with the South, it has everything to do with race. The man who circulated this flier is a black man himself.
I live in Memphis, there are more racists around here than you would ever believe, and yes, many of them are black. Racial tension is an extreme thing around here. The town is 65% black, and a whole heck of a lot of them believe that "the white man is keeping them down". Of course, most of the ones who think this are uneducated and ignorant, but then there's a lot of uneducated ignorant whites around too.
My point is that stupid people are abundant everywhere, and they tend to be racists. When you already hate one race, it's easy to migrate that into a hatred of something else, like "jews" or what have you. So don't blame the South because that's basically the same damn thing. Instead, blame the person circulating this trash directly. He's the one with the problem. - bjs3171, on 02/14/2008, -5/+41a black guy condemning someone for being jewish? wow, ***** ironic. seriously, someone just shoot the guy in the face, we don't have time for ***** like this.
- nepawoods, on 02/14/2008, -0/+34There's actually alot of people who despise ___________________ on the internet.
Fill in the blank however you like, it's always true. - kidjay, on 02/14/2008, -7/+39everyone realizes this is awful...but you have to wonder though: if it were a black representative being called out by jews, would not the aclu and the naacp and jesse jackson and al sharpton and whomever else be screaming from the rooftops about it?
i mean...its just crappy that racism exists period, but the fact that when black people are racist bigots, its "reverse racism" and therefore, not as sickening or appalling. someone once called me a racist for pointing out their racism toward white people. hell, i'm sure people will think that this post is racist.
i'm moving to the moon. - buymagicfish, on 02/14/2008, -8/+40Obviously you've never been to Tennessee. Its not that bad there. I've encountered far more racism in California than I had in Tennessee. Crazies like that are everywhere unfortunately. Hell, if that ***** was distributed in New York (and somebody is on the street right now handing out ***** much worse than that) nobody would think twice. They would toss it up to the crazies and be done with it.
Oh yeah, Tennessee definitely is part of America. I would rather have Tennessee than where I live (near Berkeley, CA) and I'm extremely liberal. - Coven, on 02/14/2008, -9/+40I say lets revoke the tax exempt status of the church this so called minister belongs to for sticking his nose where it doesn't belong.
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -12/+42Don't listen to flogistan. He's just an anti-semitic troll who apologizes for ANYONE that disparages the jews is anyway.
Don't believe me? Just take a look at some of his comments:
"God I wish we'd nuke these heebs."
http://www.digg.com/world_news/Israel_must_end_sie ...
"Hey, I love christians. It's the jews that cause all the problems"
http://www.digg.com/world_news/Syria_fires_on_Isra ...
"Rod Carew's mother was not jewish and neither was he and they put him in this list? I thought the month of jew lie had already passed."
http://www.digg.com/baseball/The_18_best_Jewish_ba ...
(He's also a 911 truther, surprise?)
"What a surprise, another jew who tells the story leaving out wtc 7. I'm surprised"

Basically he's a big ***** bigot who I am amazed hasn't been banned yet. - corexian, on 02/14/2008, -2/+28More specifically, it's Memphis. That city is nothing like anything else in TN.
- Napoleone, on 02/14/2008, -13/+38I'm from up North and I have no family in the South, but I've got to say that attitude needs to stop. There are tens of millions of good, honest, hard working people in the South. It's true that some still harbor a historical resentment over the N/S war, and that indeed some are racists, but that in and of itself is not enough for anyone to have a right to deny them their humanity and dignity.
We'll never heal the divide between us if people like you keep opening up old wounds. - swizzcheez, on 02/14/2008, -2/+26Can't believe this still happens in America? This is still expressing a religious opinion. It may be a vile, disgusting, reprehensible, pessimistic, ignorant, and loathsome opinion, but it is an opinion none-the-less. In actuality, within constraints of safety and slander, the ability and right to opine in such a way that everyone else is revolted, especially about politics and politicians, is completely American.
The moron has expressed his opinion. Now you still have the right to express yours. If you live in the right area of the country you can by voting. If not (and you're an American), then use your American right to voice your opinion in the local papers op-ed section, posters of your own, or via contribution to the other guy.
But regardless of your opinion, voicing it is still very, very American... of course so is my right to ignore it. - wild, on 02/14/2008, -4/+28Because they film most of the wet t-shirt contests down in Florida.
- sjl127, on 02/14/2008, -11/+34It's everywhere. If you don't think racism is still around today, pull your head out of the ground. It's alive and well within the democratic party.
- Antitheft, on 02/14/2008, -2/+25Is it just me, or does anyone else see the absolute ignorance in using some broad, generalized statement like 'Sadly, not surprised about something like that coming out of the south.' or 'I don't know why we fought so hard to keep the south' Are you so arrogant and ignorant as to think that racism, bigotry and hate only occur in the south?
- Gigs, on 02/14/2008, -6/+27Shut the hell up, Cartman, you fat ass!
- cannibal666, on 02/14/2008, -6/+26Wait, he's BLACK?? Well, um, I guess that's ok.
- hipnerd, on 02/14/2008, -4/+23He's from Kansas. Racism is more prevalent in some areas (particularly the rural South), but you can have a racist idiot pop up anywhere at any time. A local weather-bunny here in Sacramento, CA gave a speech where she said, "I have never met a poor Jewish person ever in my life! Every Jewish person I went to school with had money, and if they didn't have money literally...they knew how to get some. The Jewish people founded Hollywood, Jewish people were in banking, lawyers."
She got away with it because basically no one cares what she thinks, and it wasn't widely reported. - Chaulis, on 02/14/2008, -2/+21Way to make your self look like an absolute moron. How could you think it is a good idea to say a place is "too white" in a discussion concerning racism?
- dshPls, on 02/14/2008, -6/+25There's actually alot of people who despise the jewish religion on the internet. I'm totally surprised you wouldn't know that...
- MacEnvy, on 02/14/2008, -0/+19Depends. Is there pork sausage in pasta sauce?
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -2/+20He was an exalted cyclops! It only takes one year to reach that level? I really don't know. Anyways, he was in the ***** KKK. There is no excuse for that.
- Otto, on 02/14/2008, -1/+19Many blacks in the Memphis area are extreme racists. Sad, but true. Having local leaders pander to such hatreds does not help.
- Plotinus, on 02/14/2008, -3/+21@flogistan: "I don't get it. I read the article, then read the flyer... It wasn't racist. That's why the lady didn't apologize. This article is *****."
Erm, ok, to make it really clear for someone who is obviously semi-literate. This is from the big bit of writing at the top of the flier:
"Steve Cohen and the Jews Hate Jesus".
There you go. Is that easy enough for you to spot the problem now? - Akaji, on 02/14/2008, -3/+21Prophet... and don't make generalizations. SOME Jews believe that Jesus was a prophet.
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -11/+28I have never had my kids called "half breeds" anywhere but in the South. I have never been denied service at a restaurant anywhere but in the South. Hell, Montana doesn't even give a *****, but the South still goes out of their way to keep the stereotype alive.
THAT is the fact of the matter. - moskaudancer, on 02/14/2008, -0/+17Well, all the other words tend to fall under "ignorance". That's why they're so often displayed together.
- webbles, on 02/14/2008, -8/+24I sure hope these comments which are Anti-Tennessee and Anti-South are being dugg because of IRONY.
Because it appears that ignorance is alive and well with many users here. - inactive, on 02/14/2008, -5/+21So all the Jews living today are responsible for an old story? That is your justification for it being fine to say Jews HATE Jesus?
- natergin, on 02/14/2008, -0/+16Sadly, it will never fully go away. its been happening for 1000's of years. People will always find some reason to hate another person.
- DRINKxREDxBULL, on 02/14/2008, -4/+20One of their highest ranking Senators is a member of the KKK (Byrd).
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -1/+16I honestly thought all muslims did. Which ones don't? The Koran kinda sets it out that way doesn't it (jesus as prophet ? I don't think jewish religious scriptures mention jesus at all, do they?
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -5/+20How do jews feel about the flying spaghetti monster?
- actorboy, on 02/14/2008, -8/+23Yet a black man with an Islamic name just swept the Democratic primaries in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Virginia and South Carolina. Prejudice much?
- Fordi, on 02/14/2008, -0/+14Oh, we'll always have this sort of craziness. It's fortunate that, even in Tennessee, a good 99.9% of the people look at that sort of thing and say, "Ok. Say or print what you like. You've got your free speech. Doesn't mean anyone has to agree with you."
- CrazedLeper, on 02/14/2008, -2/+16If this surprises you, you have a great many more surprises coming.
- DRINKxREDxBULL, on 02/14/2008, -1/+15Not true.
He said this years after becoming elected head of his KKK chapter: "The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia" and "in every state in the nation.""
Also here is what he said about blacks in the military: "Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds." - chaosium, on 02/14/2008, -8/+22"Then why'd they kill him?"
Who, the ROMANS? - InfamousAtheist, on 02/14/2008, -3/+17Some people in the south (and other places) really suck. Most of them are average, non-hating, hard-working Americans though.
Fixed. -
