- harrisbradley, on 11/17/2008, -310/+1084That's just horrible news.
- scottknick, on 11/18/2008, -95/+616I think Hillary would make a tough, intelligent Secretary of State. She said a lot of damned nonsense in the campaign because she thought she had to to win -- which is why she's not president today. But she's a wheeler and a dealer, and she knows how to play hardball, and that's what you need at the head of State.
An added bonus is that she'll drive the digglodytes crazy, as witnessed by the spittle-flecked ravings above.
"Change" didn't mean Obama would fill his cabinet with people you never heard of. It meant he would run the government on the basis of honesty, transparency, and democracy -- an that is a 180 change from what we've had for the last 8 horrible years.
Having said all that, let's see if the story is true. - kamel, on 11/18/2008, -152/+635This is change?
- JJVegas77, on 11/17/2008, -91/+452This means she can be fired and her political career could be over!
- TheJimid, on 11/18/2008, -30/+342Thanks to the magic of time zones she may still be able to receive 3AM phone calls.
- NinaOdell, on 11/18/2008, -16/+302I'm watching CNN for 4 hours, and there's been no "breaking news", any thought about how this is from the UK and it MIGHT NOT BE TRUE?
- wild, on 11/18/2008, -22/+236The man is a student of Lincoln. I don't know why this surprises anyone. Take your qualified opponents and make the part of your trusted circle.
What it means is that you'll have a President surrounded by people who are not afraid to disagree with him. He won't live in the Bush croney bubble. Obama will have people making sure he sees our problems from all sides. - Striker101, on 11/18/2008, -33/+210dugg only for "news" value, not for Mrs C
- indiancompanion, on 11/18/2008, -45/+200people can say what they want about hill-dog, but she knows her stuff
- indiancompanion, on 11/18/2008, -8/+153wow, that actually made sense, something i see little of nowadays
- xLSDx, on 11/18/2008, -1/+142The GMT is five hours ahead of EST, so the UK lives five hours in the future. DUH!
- AshamedAmerican, on 11/18/2008, -10/+148Well well, boys. Looks like we got ourselves a "thinker" here....
- quesi, on 11/18/2008, -68/+204bad to worse=change
- jb1965, on 11/18/2008, -59/+195Dugg up for sarcasm. That was sarcasm, right?
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -4/+131No word stateside, yet.
Did you guys jack the DeLorean? - scanhopper, on 11/18/2008, -128/+252This is a great development for our country and our world.
Obama's brilliant and he knows what he's doing. - pearcewg, on 11/18/2008, -86/+183So much for change... the more thing change, the more they stay the same.
- moondg29, on 11/18/2008, -66/+148Oh *****.
- 2Conservative, on 11/18/2008, -27/+108From the look of those two pics I believe she had just finished the job interview, Clinton-style.
- ozydingo, on 11/18/2008, -2/+77NO THE ARTICLE TITLE SAID ITS TRUE
nevermind that the first words in the video are "we still don't know for certain" - inactive, on 11/18/2008, -19/+93There needs to be a kind of Godwin's Law for anyone that uses the word sheeple.
- agentmedia, on 11/18/2008, -20/+93Here's the team mainstream media helped create.
- chrissku, on 11/18/2008, -32/+101I know I'm going against the grain on this one but I actually commend Barack Obama if this is indeed true. He is trying to show the country that sometimes we have to compromise and work with people we don't necessarily agree with to get things done. Folks our country is in very bad shape right now and we need highly intelligent people working on our behalf to fix the problems we're facing. In addition to being highly qualified Hillary Clinton is extremely intelligent and will make a wonderful asset to Obama's administration. Sometimes the enormity of the problems out way the pettiness of the participants.
- smirkypants, on 11/18/2008, -20/+88Diggers can be such an angry lot sometimes. Seriously, she's qualified and credible. What's wrong with that? You want Kucinich? Is that it?
- Teribssn, on 11/18/2008, -43/+109WOW! So many NEW Faces! WOW!
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -258/+324That's just great news.
- georgemason01, on 11/18/2008, -14/+73That's what Bill Clinton said. Big party at his house the day she leaves for the White House.
- itsthehumidity, on 11/18/2008, -15/+73Wait why is Obama bad now? Digg me down if you wish, but I'm simply asking, not posing a rhetorical question to make a point. I'm seeing people get dugg up after saying negative things about Obama and that's not registering with me on this site.
- ChronicColonic, on 11/18/2008, -44/+98Well, it looks like New York just lost its finest senator ever.
/*****
Is that a collective sigh of relief I heard from New York? - CraigB12, on 11/18/2008, -15/+69I really don't understand what everyone's problem with this is. She put a hell of a lot of work into his campaign towards the end, and to be honest I think she deserves it/would do a great job.
I know everyone's going to make the jokes "this isn't change you can believe in," but just sit back and let this play out. Obama employs only those who can do their job and do it very well. He's going to be overseeing her every move, and if she does a bad job he'll ax her.
He hasn't even taken office, and everyone's already bitching. If he gets into office and is doing such a god awful job that you just have to chirp about it, then that's fine. But for god sake, don't be a pessimist just because you've lost all faith in the political system. - groo68, on 11/18/2008, -18/+72To get Hillary Clinton out of politics.
- Striker101, on 11/18/2008, -10/+61LOL I loved that!
- nupr, on 11/18/2008, -8/+59Before everyone freaks out... she and her husband are being vetted by Obama to find if any of his "Organizations" will come back to hurt Obama. He met with Hilary and asked if she would be interested in the position. Her also met with Kerry and a few others asking the same question. This article skips the part where she said yes but yes is only to "I would if they asked me", they haven't. That's why it's not on CNN yet. This is a big decision, and CNN and MSNBC have both written about the dangers of Bill Clinton's skeletons in his closet. Before being able to say yes, Hilary and Bill have to hand over all the names of Bill's "Organization Contributors". They are not at this time. If there are any problems, she is not going to get the job. So my point.... breath.
- 2Conservative, on 11/18/2008, -7/+57Once John McCain is chosen as Secretary of Defense our evil neocon plan will be complete! Bwahahahahahahahahah!
- pobenschain, on 11/18/2008, -10/+57Yes.
- uptwolait, on 11/18/2008, -12/+56It's "her stuff" that concerns me.
- nosecohn, on 11/18/2008, -18/+60Ugh. I'm not anti-Hillary, but Obama beat her in the primary largely on the grounds that he was always against the Iraq War, whereas Hillary voted for the authorization. How is she now Secretary of State when her judgment was diametrically opposed to his on the primary foreign policy decision of the day? Also, she's never worked overseas or held a diplomatic post.
I think she would have been a better ally by remaining in the Senate. - bicyclethief, on 11/18/2008, -18/+59One reason why Obama is already horrible without having done a single thing yet: sore losers.
- bushout, on 11/18/2008, -7/+47What were you hoping? That you'd be Sec. of State?
- IphtashuFitz, on 11/18/2008, -3/+42git 'em!
- Rhendal, on 11/18/2008, -6/+45I dunno, I still think it's funny that the most powerful woman in America is a secretary.
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -17/+56@kosser
The "Obamabots" will just become as cynical as the rest of us. I remember watching those naive college kids just out of control excited and it just made me laugh.
I can't remember the last time I voted and was truly optimistic or truly happy with the outcome when electing an official to any office and this time was no exception.
They are politicians and they screw us all one way or another at one time or another. - inigomntoya, on 11/18/2008, -2/+40Why are Clinton and Palin the only people able to run for President in 2016?
- gaqua, on 11/18/2008, -12/+49Well ***** said. "Change" doesn't mean that every face in government is as different as Obama's. It means that you pick the right tool for the right job.
I mean, why not put McCain at Secretary of Defense? - AricC, on 11/18/2008, -4/+40Every time I vote I feel like there are two choices A. Douche B. Turd Sandwich
- Bilabrin, on 11/18/2008, -4/+40Maybe they'll be represented by a native New Yorker this time who has lived in New York for longer than just the legal residency requirements.
- Innuendo24, on 11/18/2008, -2/+36Obama said on the campaign trail he wants to surround himself with people who disagree with him. This is a great move, even if you disagree with Hillary. A strong leader need not fear opposition, he should encourage it as it strengthens his own ideals. Having a diverse group of support, even those who openly appose you on some of your deepest held opinions is a sign of strength, not weakness. This same sort of panic happened with he chose Biden for VP since Biden is against net neutrality and Obama is for it. I'm glad we have a leader not afraid to befriend people who aren't little cut outs of himself. The test now is whether or not Obama trusts himself enough to not be bullied by an opinionated cabinet...and based from his books/speeches I would say he is.
- jeebus16, on 11/18/2008, -4/+38actually it's Carter Reagan Bush Clinton Bush Obama. Facts can be annoying.
- Alegoo92, on 11/18/2008, -10/+43I can't even begin to fathom your ignorance.
