- Taliese, on 05/11/2008, -11/+111Well, THIS Republican is smart enough to know that Senator Clinton does NOT speak for the Democratic party, just like Stevanoski doesn't speak for all Republicans. If he/she/it did, then one might think that we're all a bunch of raging bigots. THIS Republican also plans to vote for Senator Barack Obama in the fall. Why? Because you and Hillary reminded me just what I hate about George Bush and the Republican Party's Rovian tactics.
Get ready. A change is coming. - PeoplesChoice, on 05/11/2008, -7/+61That's the hidden truth about closet racists - think Ferraro and the Clintons: they'll march with you, bail you out, advocate for you, give you a helping hand and all that stuff. And everytime they're accused of racism, they can refer to the march, bail-out, helping hand, speaking out as evidence that they're not racists. But wait until you're about to rise to the top.
A true friend is not necessarily one who sympathises with you in times of trouble, but one who rejoices with you in times of success.
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Mark_Halperin_Wh ... - smacksaw, on 05/11/2008, -7/+53Did you ever think that after reading an article that discusses Obama gaining support from being maligned, making the first post say "Obomber" not only proves your inability to understand even the simplest of points, but actually helps Obama?
I don't want to Digg you down because your post is a spectacle that needs to be seen to remind people with critical thinking skills what sort of scourge this country is facing.
Did it ever occur to you that "people making it on their own" probably could do it without having to already deal with people like you as an obstacle? Don't like the welfare state? Quit being an ass to minorities and the poor. - aussiejan, on 05/11/2008, -10/+39Clinton Legacy - RIP
- laj4obama, on 05/11/2008, -4/+29Earlier this week I was calling on us Obama supporters to embrace Hillary. I was thinking she was going to do the right thing and campaign in a positive note and figure out a graceful exit strategy! But with great disappointment I must DENOUNCE AND REJECT HILLARY CLINTON!!!
I am an African-American 29 year old woman. I am old enough to remember when the republicans wanted to embarrass the hell out of you and Bill and Hillary Clinton with impeachment proceedings and smear. It was my community that stood up for them!!!! MY WHOLE COMMUNITY HAD THEIR BACKS!!! We dubbed Bill Clinton the first black president! Let me tell Hillary Clinton, the democratic party, the media, the republican party, and America something, my vote is just as important as any lunch bucket, so called white blue collar worker!!!
And BLACK PEOPLE WORK JUST AS HARD, IF NOT HARDER!!!!! Hell Barack certainly has to work harder in this election, and he's winning!!!! We never even heard of superdelegate before the Barack started running for office. Moreover, we built this damn country on the backs of OUR HARD LABOR and deserve the HONOR AND RESPECT of Bill and Hillary Clinton and this entire nation!!! Every road you travel, every field that you get food from today were almost ALL created on the backs of slaves! How dare you even insinuate that somehow the white blue collar workers are the most important to the DNC!!! You name ONE democrat or president that got their presidency without the Black vote since we fought for the right to vote (which has to be renewed every so often)??? EVERY VOTE SHOULD BE IMPORTANT TO THE DNC and America!! EVERY VOTE!!
It started in New Hampshire, but every said Bill was misunderstood. Then we had the Martin Luther King comments from Hillary, but no no, that wasn't what she meant. Then we had the South Carolina comments, but no no, that's not what he meant. Then we had the Ed Rendell comments (but no one talks about how he is the one who actually has a relationship with Farrakhan and has praised him and called him a great leader in the 20th century), but no no, he misspoke. Then we had Geraldine Ferrro, but no no, she wasn't being racist, although she said the same thing about Jesse Jackson. Now we have Hillary with the hardworking blue collar white voters are what matters to the DNC, let me guess, no no no, that's not what she meant?? This is why she only got 6% of the black vote. I wish this country had never brought us here in chains!!
To be in 2008 and to be treated as not just second class voters, but second class media viewers, second class presidential candidates...this is sick. What's next Hillary, black people should only count as 3/5th of a vote? IM THROUGH!!! DONE WITH HILLARY AND BILL CLINTON!!!! - MaxPayne3476, on 05/11/2008, -0/+13Great post! ... wait, who the ***** are you talking to?
- chrissku, on 05/11/2008, -5/+19Hillary was probably that kid that took her ball and went home if she wasn't winning the kickball game. Her "if I can't have it nobody can" attitude has done some damage to her own party. It's going to take a long time for many Democrats to forgive her for playing the race card and hurting obama,
- inactive, on 05/11/2008, -3/+14People who invest time and effort into communicating their apathy are typically masking feelings of despair and anxiety.
- Taliese, on 05/11/2008, -0/+10I honestly don't care what you believe. But for those of you who are more open-minded, I've voted Republican all of my adult life, but not this time. I don't plan to change my Party affiliation, but I do plan to change my vote.
It has to do with me being sick and tired of being sick and tired of Washington politics as usual. There are many Republicans like me as well as Independents who have had it with divisive politics. And from the biting tone of your post, you fall into that category. Fearful. Small-minded. Polarizing I know your type. You probably think that anyone who doesn't believe that all Democrats are closet commies cannot be a "real" Republican. Well, guess what? I'm a REAL Republican who is sick of hate-mongers like you spoiling our democracy. It's people like you that contribute to Washington gridlock and the historic divisions that have kept all of us from coming together as one nation. No, my 'friend,' I don't give a damn what you think. But you should care what I and other Republicans like me think because we're not voting status quo this year. We're voting against the Clinton and the Bush dynasties. We're also voting against people like you who keep Democrats and Republicans in constant battle.
Trust me, you and your kind are an endangered species. - TellTheWorld, on 05/11/2008, -1/+10Very well said, smacksaw.
- fani, on 05/11/2008, -0/+9FTA : “That was a great celebration of African-American history,” the supporter said, to which Obama immediately responded: “No, no, no, no, no. That was not a great celebration of African-American history. That was a celebration of American history.”
I got goosebumps reading that. That man is so inspiring, its phenomenal. I can't believe how excited I feel hearing him speak. I didn't even know this was possible from a politician.
Change is coming..... - Taliese, on 05/11/2008, -6/+14The Republican party treats minorities as equals? What freaking universe are you existing in? I'm a Republican and even I can see how disingenuous your comments are. Obviously any further discussion with you would be pointless since you can't even be honest about our own party's sins and faults.
Goodbye. - Jwoey, on 05/11/2008, -1/+9Petitions are like ribbon magnets on the back of your car.
they don't do anything. - xBarium, on 05/11/2008, -4/+12Republicans consistently take advantage of the poor and undereducated especially those in Southern states by appealing to their Christian morales and promising tax cuts and other programs which serve only to drive the poor down. The democrats consistently bring in the minority vote, an unfairly large portion of which lives below the poverty line but it's not because of the democrats support of welfare programs. You comments are unfounded and malicious, no one wants to see people kept poor, that's just ***** stupid.
- BrainInAJar, on 05/11/2008, -1/+8digg's liberal bias... or reality's liberal bias?
- NVMojo, on 05/11/2008, -5/+14I was tired of the Clintons in the late 90s and I am still tired of the Clintons. Can someone make them both STFU?
- NVMojo, on 05/11/2008, -3/+10Get a clue.
- motivatedmama, on 05/11/2008, -8/+15"In the Clintons’ morphing into a crude version of racially angry Reagan Democrats," Love it! People like to insult her with the Republican label when she is actually much worse in this instance. It's a shame that she may have given the Republicans permission to sink as low in the general. Judging by the evidence however, this may not be the wisest strategy for them. In her sick way, all her smearing may have actually aided Obama, but it took an exceptionally canny candidate to navigate these waters. Or perhaps an exceptionally genuine one.
- funkyloki, on 05/11/2008, -2/+8Prove it, jackass, or STFU!
- Revlution4ever, on 05/11/2008, -0/+4Let's see...
Clinton got 88% of the black vote in 96.
....yes. - funkyloki, on 05/11/2008, -1/+7The article you linked as evidence that Obama "attended the same madrasa and mosque as the Mad Bomber of London" does not prove that. the only thing it proves is that Obama attended a mosque when he was 6 to 8 years old, and that he did his irregularly and with his step-father. When I was 8, I attended a church with a friend of mine occasionally. does that make me a Catholic? No, and the only reason I went was because I wanted to hang with my friend. Obama was eight, too young to stay by himself, maybe he had to go (see how I implied something there, just like Daniel Pipes does in all of his articles).
So I will not apologize, because you haven't proven your statement yet. - Taliese, on 05/12/2008, -1/+7Careful, cohortq. Say you're backing Obama around these parts and the Republican Thought Police (AKA The so-called REAL Republicans) will accuse you of either (1) High Treason or (2)"Fakery." LOL Anyway, welcome to the fold. I'm a Republican Obama supporter too. :-)
- venuspcs, on 05/11/2008, -0/+5I never said, nor claimed to be a Ron Paul supporter or a Barrack Obama supporter....in fact I think I clearly stated I didn't support either of them and then clearly stated why I would have voted for Ron Paul and why I will now vote for Barrack Obama......learn to read (and understand).
"Explain yourself, on what issues do Ron Paul and Obama stand together on?"
Absolutely nothing as far as I can tell, but as I originally stated my voting for Barrack is for entirely different reasons that those for which I would have voted for Ron Paul.
"What I wonder is if Obama fans will be real and hold him accountable."
Sadly, probably not.....Bush fans sure as frack haven't held him responsible so why should any other candidate/president fear being held accountable.....we can:
1.) either hope and pray that the next president will hold himself accountable to the people who put him/her there, or
2.) the citizens of America will finally grow some fracking balls and hold him/her accountable. - iancwishlist, on 05/11/2008, -1/+7This campaign has made me lose significant respect for Bill Clinton. It makes me sad.
- tcbishop12, on 05/11/2008, -1/+6This Republican agrees also. I am voting for, have donated money to, and am actively campaigning for, Sen. Obama over Sen. McCain. Whether the other commenter or anyone else believes I am a Republican is, of course, irrelevant to the facts, because it does not change the fact that I am a lifelong registered Republican who will vote for Obama. In matters of conscience and personal decision, the law of majority opinion or belief has no place.
- dinot, on 05/11/2008, -1/+7I don't care which party you people belong to, but it gives me comfort to know that a large number of people in this country are open minded like tcbishop12 and Taliese. There is hope yet.
- mchisari, on 05/11/2008, -0/+4Bill Clinton carried 84 percent of the black vote in 1996, John Kerry won 88 percent in 2004. So yeah, probably.
- rand0mm0nkey, on 05/11/2008, -1/+4/facepalm
- apetrie, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3You might disagree with his reasons JointVenture, but venuspcs clearly stated in his OP why he would have voted for Ron Paul, and now why he'll vote for Obama.
- gobbleplex, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3Yes because in the beginning off the race he was desperately behind in the black vote. They were, by and large, solidly for Clinton until all the racism started coming out of the Clinton camp. He had to fight to even make them come around to him in the beginning. At first he wasn't black enough, now he's too black? Make up your mind.
- Vet4Peace, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3I would SO vote for that.
STFU in '08!! - Ansible, on 05/11/2008, -0/+4What a load of *****. He's a senator for christs sake, what do you want here for experience?
Putting Obama's experience up against Hillary's 'war record' (under fire in Bosnia), and McCain's ethics (look up Keating Five), I'd say he comes out pretty well. - FrenchAnarchy, on 05/11/2008, -1/+5@Stevanoski:
Have you even read Animal Farm? Animal Farm is written against totalianism and corruption and in favor of pure socialism. That's right, Socialism. The new word that all Republicans hate. - sassip, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3Your problem is obvious... bending over backwards... head stuck up anus...
- dinot, on 05/11/2008, -1/+4Wow. You're really witty. Where can I sign up for your newsletter?
- Taliese, on 05/12/2008, -1/+7Okay, so now we're "fakers" and "sock puppets" that haven't commited High Treason. Thanks for the clarification. LOL! BTW, how do we know you and your cohort what's-his-face aren't sock puppets? Seems to me that those pointing fingers are most likely guilty themselves. In fact, how do I know you're not just some internet troll pretending to be a Republican? I'd bet you pretend to be a Democrat on other threads just to keep the fire crackling.
For all I know you people are really Communists masquerading as Republicans, and you're secretly seeking to subvert the government. Or maybe you're really Al Queda operatives trying to promote chaos and strife among Americans? LOL!
You guys are a piece of work. We can all accuse each other of not being who we say we are till the cows come home, and Obama will still be elected the next president of the US, and I will still regret my vote for George Bush. Meanwhile, you will still be on this board accusing anyone who disagrees with you of sock puppetry and fakery. LOL! - Wakkyweed, on 05/11/2008, -0/+2You have a very appropriate name there, NumNutz
- Sheeena, on 05/12/2008, -1/+3Okay, so you DON'T have any proof Obama said this? Thanks for the clarification. :-)
- Vet4Peace, on 05/11/2008, -0/+2Are you serious? Really?
- BrendanSheehan, on 05/11/2008, -0/+2"A true friend is not necessarily one who sympathises with you in times of trouble, but one who rejoices with you in times of success."
Is that a quote? If so it's a good one, if it's yours it's also good. - Taliese, on 05/12/2008, -1/+4Who believes this, Stevanoski? Are you saying Obama does? If so, show me where he said this.
- bernos, on 05/11/2008, -0/+2nice article
- 140Suffolk, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3You're right. I DO say he's a faker. But I never said "High Treason". That's putting words in my mouth, and that's not sanitary.
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if all three of you were the same person. Sitting at the computer logging in and out of the different usernames. It's called "sock puppets". Agreeing with each other. "Oh yes, I'm a lifelong Republican too but I want -CHANGE- so I'll vote for Obama..."
"Me too!" "And me as well!"
Please. - dsmyre, on 05/11/2008, -0/+2Exactly right.
- Vet4Peace, on 05/11/2008, -2/+5Either you really mean that, and are retarded. Or you don't mean it, and are an *****.
Which is it? - lhbaker, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2I was going to call you names, but I see that I don't have to.
- lhbaker, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2If Digg is addicted to Obama, why isn't his name in the spell checker?
- Taliese, on 05/11/2008, -1/+3I'm more of a moderate Republican, while my husband is very hardcore. He never would've considered voting for a Democrat until this year. Not to say he will vote Obama. He's kinda on the fence now. He's at the point where he's torn between McCain and Obama. He likes Obama's message of change, and his view of an open government, but he also likes McCain's hawkish view on Iraq. He'll probably be undecided up until he goes into the voting booth. Me? Believe it or not, I was initially for Mike Huckabee. LOL I liked his calm, respectful manner. He didn't seek to tear his opponents down. I admired that. After he dropped out, I think Obama sort of grew on me over time. The other members of my family are mostly Dems, although my MIL is a strong Independent. She was leaning toward Hillary, but got disgusted with her gutter politics and race-baiting. So now she's warming up to Obama as well.
- Taliese, on 05/11/2008, -1/+6The person I was responding to questioned whether I was a Republican. I answered that I was and that there were many other Republicans like me. If he'd have asked if I knew of Democrats with a similar opinion I would've answered accordingly. That was the context of my answer. Obviously there are Democrats who've had it with divisive politics. You're straining at a gnat, yet you swallow a camel. Nitpicking at words and making inferences that aren't there.
Is this all you do? Troll around the Internet and sites like this to pick verbal fights with people? Is your life so miserable that this is it for you? Don't you have anything positive to say? I've seen your comments on this board and they are all, without exception, negative. What is wrong with you? Do you have no joy? Are you so bitter and angry that you cannot bring yourself to post anything but divisive garbage? What happened in your life to make you this way? Every post of yours has gotten negative hits. I'm sorry you're such an unhappy person. I really am. But you're taking your pain and rage out on the wrong people. Get some help, for godsakes, and join the rest of us reasonably adjusted human beings. Stop looking at everything through a negative lens. Try and find some commonality with others, rather than constantly initiating strife and dissension. -
