And all this time I thought I voted for Obama because he's inspirational in message and demeanor. I thought I voted for him because he's incredibly intelligent, reasonable, and warm. I thought I saw something unique in his policies and rhetoric I seldom see in other politicians. I thought I saw in him principle, and from it principled policy. I thought I was impressed with his steadfast belief in progressive values while maintaining a will to work for workable solutions. I thought that everything I've ever read by or about him had reinforced this sentiment.
