- nelsonjs, on 04/16/2008, -8/+192This is indicative of the fact that Hillary, not Obama, is the elitist candidate in the democratic race. The nerve to call him elitist after making comments like these is incredible.
- meltlight, on 04/16/2008, -3/+147hmm. i'd say she sounds bitter... and elitist.
- n00ptic, on 04/16/2008, -9/+140If the MSM picks this up it just might hurt a little bit in the PA primaries, or even in tonight's debate.
- 12DHutch, on 04/16/2008, -7/+80OMG! Sure am glad I woke up and saw the light in regard to this woman. But it took me a very long time. Hope people will get it.
- brandonchicago, on 04/16/2008, -3/+62If this gets out to MSM it might be the nail in the coffin. You don't bounce back from referring to the working class in terms as stark as "Screw 'em."
- JBSchweitzer, on 05/29/2009, -2/+53If this story has legs, Barack might actually steal Penn... which would end the democratic nomination contest.
The media spent 4 days covering a quote taken totally out of context from Obama, if this gets the same airtime, it is over. - greginmadison, on 04/16/2008, -3/+49Ah, the raw face of pure power. The more I see/hear of Hillary, the more I REALLY dislike her (coming from someone that actually did like her at one time and went and paid to see her at a fund raiser).
- qwerter, on 04/16/2008, -1/+37It would, but I think there's a better chance of the MSM picking it up than Obama pouncing on it. He defends himself well, but attacking her like she does him isn't really his thing.
I say let the media grab it and run with it. You want condescending? You want elitist? Here you go... This will HURT if it gets picked up.
The best part is that, according to this article, Bill's mindset is more in line with Obama's. She says "screw 'em", he empathizes with them. - DiggLive, on 04/16/2008, -0/+33Now that's a video you can Xerox!
- AtHomeBoy2000, on 04/16/2008, -4/+36That's gonna sting.
- MacEnvy, on 04/16/2008, -3/+28If it wasn't for Hillary's candidacy, Bill would be stumping for Obama at every turn. With their upbringing and personal philosophies they are a good fit. It's quite sad really - Obama *deserves* that help more than Hillary does :(
- AtHomeBoy2000, on 04/16/2008, -0/+24I already e-mailed MSNBC and ABC news
- michelleby, on 04/16/2008, -1/+24Annie get your gun and keep shooting yourself in the foot...
- qwerter, on 04/16/2008, -1/+24If she was pissed then, I wouldn't want to be in the room with her when Obama gets the nomination...
- AtHomeBoy2000, on 04/16/2008, -2/+24Compare this quote to how she and carville reacted to Bill Richardson's endorsement of Obama. he's a judas. screw him. He's not important. hmmm......
- HeDiggMe, on 04/16/2008, -0/+20"Let them eat cake."
- treehugger87, on 04/16/2008, -1/+20You'd believe anything Slimbaughll and Propaghannity say, wouldn't you? Bush is 10 times closer to the Muslims than Obama is (http://www.cbc.ca/fifth/conspiracytheories/saudi.h ...
- arbouler, on 04/16/2008, -3/+22i'm sorry, but wow, what a bitch.
- inactive, on 04/16/2008, -1/+19This needs to get way more play. Yet another instance of the real Hillary Clinton.
- AtHomeBoy2000, on 04/16/2008, -1/+18To me, this quote has FAR more legs. It basically says "you didnt support me, so I wont help you".
- inactive, on 04/16/2008, -0/+17Dont ***** this up Pennsylvania!
- Railz, on 04/16/2008, -5/+21Depends. How many stupid things can Hillary say.
- thebradmiskell, on 04/16/2008, -3/+18"Screw 'em" - the same thing she seems to feel about anyone that doesn't support her. Troubling sentiments from someone who's supposed to represent all Americans.
- AtHomeBoy2000, on 04/16/2008, -1/+16It sure would look great being brought up tonight.
- inactive, on 04/16/2008, -0/+14Annie get your gun. Take your campaign out behind the barn and shoot it. Put it out of its ( and our ) misery.
- neognostic, on 04/16/2008, -0/+14No he can't - 12th Amendment states "no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States." Since his is ineligible because he has served more than 6 years already.
- natchiketa, on 04/16/2008, -1/+15Maybe Obama should respond to her condemnation for his 'guns and religion' remarks by quoting Bill back to her:
"I know how you feel. I understand Hillary's sense of outrage. It makes me mad too. Sure, we lost our base in the South; our boys voted for Gingrich. But let me tell you something. I know these boys. I grew up with them. Hardworking, poor, white boys, who feel left out, feel that our reforms always come at their expense. Think about it, every progressive advance our country has made since the Civil War has been on their backs. They're the ones asked to pay the price of progress. Now, we are the party of progress, but let me tell you, until we find a way to include these boys in our programs, until we stop making them pay the whole price of liberty for others, we are never going to unite our party, never really going to have change that sticks."
Granted, he'll probably want to find a substitute for the term 'white boys'... - naner, on 04/16/2008, -1/+15If they don't already, someone at Obama HQ should be scouring Digg for "ammunition" so to speak. Some of these stories are pretty damning but they never quite make it out to the "real world" until the MSM stumbles on it.
- Acewrap, on 04/16/2008, -1/+14Sorry, you picked the booby prize of 100 more years of war, a failed economy and a senile old president. Thanks for playing!
- aerojad, on 04/16/2008, -0/+13here's hoping it gets attention
- robdiggity, on 04/16/2008, -5/+18...after receiving this advice, Bill promptly shrugged his shoulders and went off to bang some southern broad.
- Acewrap, on 04/16/2008, -2/+14Important stuff? This is from your comment history:
"You mean an oreo propped up by rich white Wall Streeters? Typical American leftist stance looking for a TOKEN black president. I'm not against a black president, but I dont think a black president is a good change just because he's black. If the rich white guys stopped backing him he would be the next 7%er Ron Paul."
Beat it, troll. - AtHomeBoy2000, on 04/16/2008, -1/+13Hillary has a tendency to project. So, if you see something negative about Obama that is coming form her (his "connections" to big oil or elitism), it most likely applies to her, not him.
- glorysong, on 04/16/2008, -4/+16Is this who you want for your president? Wake up one morning the phone is ringing at 3:00 a.m. and she shout in the phone " Screw You" for waking me up.
- amprather, on 04/16/2008, -2/+14This is the "the bomb" that needed to be dropped. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. The Obama camp may have been sitting on this jewel for a while if they were the ones that had it. If they were, my hat is off to them for saving for when it would be the most effective to use. Bravo!
- Lucas123, on 04/16/2008, -1/+13Yeah. And if you don't like this country, get out!!! That's what they used to say about people who protested the government's policy. Personally, I'd rather change it than leave it. There's a lot that's good about Digg, but the selection method is flawed.
- tzisc, on 04/16/2008, -2/+13what??? hillary would never deceive us like that
- kdawg1012, on 04/16/2008, -1/+12We need to send this article to the main stream media. Let's try to force them to give it the exposure that it deserves. Email it to as many news/talkshow outlets as possible. If enough people do it, they might just use it.
- Misinformant, on 04/16/2008, -2/+12Shame this will never make headlines as it damn well should.
- qwerter, on 04/16/2008, -1/+11It's a lose-lose situation for him. If he weren't already president, Hillary wouldn't even be running.
- AtHomeBoy2000, on 04/16/2008, -0/+9after she finishes sinking Obama in the general so she can run in 2012.
- badcrumble, on 04/16/2008, -2/+11It's also how Hillary will lose it.
- Eezyville, on 04/16/2008, -1/+10hmm. I'd say that she just misspoke.
- treehugger87, on 04/16/2008, -4/+13I can remember this being reported and talked about back in 1995. Honestly, I couldn't agree with her more in this particular instance. The only thing southern white men did for Bill Clinton is elect and support the right-wing extremists in congress who outwardly hated him from the moment he was elected.
With that said, Bill was enough of a man to not use his political power to impact the lives of millions of southern white men out of vengeance or spite. Can you say Bush has done the same for the people who have voted against him and harassed him through his total inept presidency? - mochaman, on 04/16/2008, -0/+8The stuff she is doing now may have worked in the 90s the age of 24 hours news cycles and web 1.0. I don't think the Clintons knew what they were getting into now the age of blogs and social networks: you can't hide and lie your mouth off you're going to get cought. I for one am glad this is coming out since the Clintons have shown their willingness to go down to the gutter and play dirty politics.
- dafunkmonster, on 04/16/2008, -3/+10I would go so far as to say they are both elitist. It disappoints me that this elections picks are: bad, worse, worst.
- Coven, on 04/16/2008, -1/+8No transcript, video, audio...its hearsay :(
- CTK14A, on 04/16/2008, -3/+10I hate Hillary, but the Reagan Democrats as enemies 'good guy vs. bad guy' point mentioned in the article makes sense... there's no middle-ground in elections, you either win or you lose. You can't win halfway. Your supporters--or detractors--vote only once.
The Clinton's are known for their vindictive nature when it comes to those who dare oppose them; it's ugly politics, but that's how Bill won the White House. - AtHomeBoy2000, on 04/16/2008, -0/+7Already sent to ABC News, MSNBC, and CNN.
- qwerter, on 04/16/2008, -0/+6Negative. The VP must be eligible for presidency. Bill has served his 8, so he is ineligible.
