- Debmood, on 05/24/2008, -16/+145Hillary is a victim of Hillary! Hillary will do anything to win. She will claim racism, sexism and even plot for her rival to be eliminated. She is not a victim but the victimizer.
Hillary needs to lay of the hate, booze and botox. - BishkekBuddy, on 05/24/2008, -16/+119"An embarrassment to women everywhere" ..... no, an embarrassment to humankind everywhere.
- SheilaNoya, on 05/24/2008, -18/+90It's hard for a lot of women to show toughness, strength, leadership abilities, and firm resolve, without looking like a hardcore bitch. In the beginning of her campaign, Hillary managed to walk that fine line and was able to present herself as a lady, yet someone with strength, dignity, and power.
After Super Tuesday, she seems to have snapped. She resorted to the nasty attacks and smear tactics of the Republicans. She started lying and losing all credibility. In desperation, she started sucking up to the most gullible people in each state and trying to morph into a fake clone of them while she campaigned there. It was hard to figure out who the "real" Hillary was.
She tossed out her dignity, she threw away her credibility, and she became the very image of what she first tried to avoid - The hardcore bitch who will say or do anything to get her way. - gryphon50, on 05/25/2008, -2/+28I'm a woman and I'm not embarrassed by her. What, are we twins because she has an extra x chromosome? Everything she does reflects badly on HERSELF, like it should. Anyone who would lump a future female presidential candidate in the same category as her simply because they're both women would be sexist. Judge people on their own merits.
- rewinn, on 05/24/2008, -4/+27Exactly, and it makes me sad. I admired Hillary for being tough, assertive, even aggressive when it helped get the job done. But she's not the only person, certainly not the only woman who can do that; the 3 top politicians here in Washington State (governor & both Senators) are ALL women who have mastered that skill. Hillary destroyed herself with 1990s-style "triangulation" strategy: figure out what 51% of the people want to hear, and say it. That just doesn't work anymore.
- GhostWithToast, on 05/24/2008, -4/+24C U Next super Tuesday
- Schmapdi, on 05/25/2008, -8/+25Yeah, if the dissenters here haven't noticed... The Article was written by Camile Paglia, I'd say she's a fair expert on the subject of feminism.
And Hillarly certain isn't a feminist - both for her reliance on her Husband and his connections, and because she plays the victim every chance she gets. A self respecting would do neither. - inactive, on 05/25/2008, -6/+22"If Hillary goes for a joint ticket with Obama, then all the Clinton-bashing will suddenly turn into praise for Clinton. People will deny ever having made a single critical comment about her."
[citation needed] - stutimandal, on 05/24/2008, -6/+21It's not the fault of other women that Hillary is a woman. Why should they (women) be embarassed?
- NightVortez, on 05/24/2008, -6/+19As much as Bush is an embarrassment to men everywhere, meaning not at all, what is this ***** that just because someone belongs to a certain sex or race they speak for it?
- BishkekBuddy, on 05/24/2008, -0/+12"Those who think she will withdraw gracefully in a few weeks are living in cloud cuckoo land. "
I'm not one of those, Marabout! In fact, I don't think she'll even be given the chance now to withdraw gracefully or un-. I think that she will be forced out by the Super Delegates who should not tolerate any of this *****. And if they don't, we need to mark down their names and make certain they are relieved of their current postings within the Democratic Party... i.e., vote them the hell out of office. - EnderMB, on 05/25/2008, -5/+17You people shouldn't be complaining so much about Digg when there are some extremely deluded people elsewhere in your country. Read some of the comments under that article.
"Better to have Hillary who has some experience,
than Osama Hussein, who will sell our country
down the river to the arab countries. what a wimp!
with a monster wife to match and control him. he's
just a pawn. Pray we get someone strong in the
White House like John McCain. We need a tough,
honest person like McCain. The others are pathetic."
This is where the issues lie with your country, not with a woman dragging feminism back. - cadmiumpaint, on 05/25/2008, -6/+18If she didn't share the last name of one of the most popular presidents in recent history, she would have never gotten an easy ticket into the senate and would have been considered as a legitimate presidential contender. This is an undeniable fact.
- BishkekBuddy, on 05/24/2008, -4/+14I'm sorry you feel that using the heinous example of the assassination of an outstanding and revered up-and-coming politician to be "a nuance." I don't quite understand how you can call reaction to this vile comment as being 'sexist' when you yourself say that it was "in extreme poor taste." I am glad, however, that you realize she's "assassinated" herself because she certainly has. I used to at least admire her but her conduct during this campaign had shredded every single bit of admiration I ever had for her. And, lest you think I may be sexist in these remarks, I am myself a female and exactly Hillary's age.
- jameshighmore, on 05/25/2008, -1/+11Heh. Half of Digg are digging you up, the other half are digging you down.
- S1ngular1ty1, on 05/25/2008, -2/+11You forgot:
Sucks. - inactive, on 05/25/2008, -0/+9Unlike Bush, Hillary actually did claim to speak for, and represent, her gender. Or have you failed to notice the blatant womanist theme of her Congressional and presidential campaigns?
- solohan, on 05/25/2008, -1/+10Oh please. The problem with Hillary is not that she is hanging on. It is that she lies. Obama doesn't or hasn't been caught. If Obama was in her position he would be ignored, like Ron Paul, as she should be now. (Not that I think it is correct to ignore Ron Paul, Nader, etc)
I have hated the Clintons ever since the Monica Lewinsky crap. The Clintons used every dirty trick, and the called in all their media favors to pull thru that. It was a disgusting display of manipulation and deceit. The name of the game is to use your tricks until it gets to obvious.. she is beyond that point.
Politics is dirty and ugly, and a facade. She and her husband go to far, And make a complete mockery of our election process.
"Don't Vote Monica Lewinsky's boyfriend's wife, into the white house" - AriaStar, on 05/24/2008, -3/+11Because, unfortunately, she represents our gender as the most public female figure in politics. Women already have a harder time being taken seriously in things such as politics and the tech industry we we're called over-emotional, etc., and she's taking all the negative stereotypes about women and making them appear true.
- SaladCactusKing, on 05/25/2008, -1/+9Sucks this ***** thing does
-Yoda - SaladCactusKing, on 05/25/2008, -0/+7You could always be a zebra.
- inactive, on 05/25/2008, -0/+7That's what Monica said
- ZannaDiosa, on 05/25/2008, -6/+13I don't think I would ever judge every other woman, or even every female politician based on this one female politician. And anyone who would (or would perpetuate that thinking by writing an article about it) is as bad as someone who would judge every black person based on their experience with just one black person. Way to move forward, guys. Dugg down for archaic modes of thinking.
- Gforce20, on 05/25/2008, -1/+7An embarrassment to living organisms everywhere...
"Well, maybe if somebody kills Obama I'll have a chance! :D" - lgm1213, on 05/25/2008, -0/+6Voyager reference. nice.
- moocow1452, on 05/25/2008, -2/+8I call it Janeway Phenomenon.
- arbouler, on 05/24/2008, -1/+7really??? sexist? what did you say when obama got drilled on the wright issue? were the republicans, the media, hillary camp being racist? the wright issue is bad, but assassination is far worse!
- Fearthefus, on 05/25/2008, -0/+5lol, in your dreams. I'd despise her even more if she muscled her way in the VP slot, only to wait for Obama to be shot so she could take his place. Im pretty sure Obama would alienate half of his followers if she was on the ballot. You might dislike Obama, but we loath Hillary.
- 55mph, on 05/25/2008, -0/+5Hillary is a Republican in every way except her party affiliation.
- thailand1972, on 05/25/2008, -1/+6"Hillary managed to walk that fine line and was able to present herself as a lady, yet someone with strength, dignity, and power."
Was this before she started crying at the right times? Or before all the lies? When exactly was this time? Did you know her in university or something? - str3ama, on 05/24/2008, -6/+11honestly I think people are overdoing it - yea her campaign has been riddled with a lot of pandering to various groups, but I think that people are getting a little too one sided on their attacks on her. She's clearly lost and while it's annoying for her to drag this on any longer, she has the right to do so - and we should all just let this take its course. We know Obama's going to win it, it's now just a matter of making sure that a lot of the folks in the south don't continue their ties with voting Republican and vote for the better candidate.
- oldgal, on 05/25/2008, -0/+5Because women have invested so much in the feminist leadership and movement rather than in themselves. It is, after all, much easier to blame your shortcomings on others rather than taking measure, learning, and growing. Women who understand themselves, believe in themselves and do business that way will not be embarrassed and do succeed. One reason we have not had a female president is the truly capable females are generally too smart to want the job.

- OnlyGirlOnDigg, on 05/25/2008, -7/+11I like Hillary. Now, lets see who here likes free speech.
- inactive, on 05/25/2008, -11/+15this isnt even a news story it is just a bash on hillary
- chillypacman, on 05/25/2008, -0/+4"That just doesn't work anymore."
It works with the Republican party, remember what Clinton said? That she would be the Republican nominee. She's exactly right, her idiot advisers seem to have been confused and thought they were running for the republican candidacy, that is why she's one all the bigger states, not because those states will never vote for Obama but because she campaigned harder in them. - inactive, on 05/25/2008, -0/+4This is one of the first sensible things I've ever read by a woman.
- Broschati, on 05/25/2008, -7/+11I am by no means Pro-Hillary, but I absolutely despise all of this pointless banter. She is not an embarrassment to women anymore than any male politicians are embarrassments to men.
Our presidential candidates, Obama included are embarrassments to themselves. they result to name calling and insane claims and lies.
I'm voting for Obama, but that doesn't change the fact that he is a huge hypocrite. - snuffop, on 05/25/2008, -2/+6The Same reason Blacks should be embarrassed by Jessy Jackson, People judge by their representation, thus re affirming the opinion that all Americans are idiots.. because of our president. POINT!
- tumatakuru, on 05/25/2008, -1/+5don't be too down on yourself, us guys have to share our gender with some quite embarrassing people too
- duke, on 05/25/2008, -1/+5RTFA: "Camille Paglia [the author, for those of you who didn't bother to read it] is University Professor of Humanities and Media Studies at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia". Word has it that Philadelphia is in America (unless, perhaps, you're Miss South Carolina 2007).
- tumatakuru, on 05/25/2008, -1/+5Yeah it's a silly headline but actually a pretty sound article.
- Omek, on 05/25/2008, -0/+4amen... I'm really getting tired of this...
- BabyBoomerQueen, on 05/25/2008, -0/+3Welcome to the world of politics.
Where no one is right or wrong and only the strong survive.
Hillary put up a hard battle, but she has lost. And I do not see her with another win situation in the future.
Too much water has flowed under the bridge.
She slept with he enemy and see where it got her.
If she had continued as she used to be, she would have had a better choice.
I am glad that I am not under the gun the way she was/is.
I do not foresee Obama having her as a running mate.
Time will tell...
Sharon

- inactive, on 05/25/2008, -4/+7Obama's education is proving to be startlingly thin for someone who got through 2 Ivy League institutions. Perhaps his ignorance is symptomatic of the watering down of the curriculum over the decades. Instead of learning the classics and history this bold genius rotted his mind with 'ethnic studies'.
- vladin, on 05/25/2008, -0/+3You can say anything you want. That doesn't mean I have to like it or agree.
- Bunnybutt, on 05/25/2008, -0/+3She is an embarrassment to herself. Plain and simple.
- cwright213, on 05/25/2008, -0/+3YOU KNOW Maybe that's what she needs....
