- bratpack8, on 12/11/2007, -66/+328Only one candidate doesn't take these donations... Ron Paul
- cavedog0, on 12/11/2007, -3/+211This is the biggest issue for me next election. How can you trust someone if they change their opinion based on who gives them more money?
- MEGAMERICAN, on 12/11/2007, -6/+167Don't forget that Hillary is getting more money from the defense industry than any other candidate.
As a reply to bratpack8:
Ron Paul does earmark money for his constituents because the money will be wasted anyway, but then he votes AGAINST the bill. - Frostman3D, on 12/11/2007, -19/+153I can't believe their are actually people that want this bitch to run the country.
- gldfshnpcklejar, on 12/11/2007, -5/+115And if he doesn't win, this will be exactly why... :( The people are no longer in control, big money/big business is...
- quick2k2ecotec, on 12/11/2007, -7/+106And Kucinich!!
- ne0shell, on 12/11/2007, -11/+74Hillary is as big a whore as any of the other candidates. As another poster said, only Ron Paul refuses to take money from corp. lobbyists. Do the democrats really think lobbyists spend that kind of money and funnel those kinds of donations and don't expect service in return? Grow up.
- kisstheboot, on 12/11/2007, -5/+66And Gravel.
- odigity, on 12/11/2007, -2/+63Isn't it refreshing to see someone who actually espouses a code of principles... and then follows it strictly? :) Like when he voted against the bill to grant Rosa Parks a medal because it was at the taxpayers expense, and then offered to pay for it himself.
- benroy, on 12/11/2007, -3/+60There's a lot of people that think that if that they watch Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC or god-forbid, local news, that they are being factually informed. And most people have a preference, a favorite talking head. This saddens me. It's like having a favorite finger of a glove. My cousins like Giuliani, my friends like Clinton; while it's not my place to enforce my opinion on my friends and family, they outright refuse to get a second opinion.
It's frustrating that so many people are so opposed to thinking objectively. If more people would just get their news from more than one source and form their own opinion, we wouldn't be victims of this A.P. / Reuters, etc. homogenized 'journalism'.
Oh yeah, Ron Paul for Thunderdome, 2008! - zachshmack, on 12/11/2007, -1/+57Or the bill that was going to spend around 50k for something to commemorate Ronald Reagan, and he voted against it and suggested that every member of Congress just donate 100 bucks themselves.
- zeptobyte, on 12/11/2007, -2/+56And Nader.
- inactive, on 12/11/2007, -0/+52Mmmmmm....pork.
- bobbknight, on 12/11/2007, -0/+35Seriously is anyone surprised or shocked by this?
- DestroyFascism, on 12/11/2007, -6/+37lol. Love America! Even the White house is for sale! Roll up folks, as you can see if you pay the bitch you get double back....Don't worry about her loosing! She is sure fire bet with the Neo-cons and the Bilderburgers and the Banks and the Corporate Nationals and.....
What a Joke this is....500,000,000 and you can buy the frikken Government.... - lordno, on 12/11/2007, -5/+32Almost every politician is somewhat crooked these days - but this one would sell her soul.
- yaddam205, on 12/11/2007, -0/+27Now there is true statement.
- medalian1, on 12/11/2007, -1/+25Sometimes I hope that Rudy or Hillary wins, just because people deserve what's coming to them. But yeah, my vote is with RP.
- Curlz31, on 12/11/2007, -4/+27Attention Hillary zombies. Please DO YOUR RESEARCH. Hillary is a warmonger and a corporate shill. She will bring in the NAU faster than anyone.
- inactive, on 12/11/2007, -0/+22You dont..........idiots let the media make the decision for them. Hence the need to start informing people in the news rather than slant it. But that's wishful thinking.
- zephc, on 12/11/2007, -0/+21Actually, he wanted "there are" as in "there exist"
"I can't believe there are actually people ..." - nalen33, on 08/29/2008, -1/+22We all see how quickly they all opened the purse strings, yah?
- benroy, on 12/11/2007, -0/+21It kind of reminds me of the Groucho Marx' quote "I don't care to belong to a club that accepts people like me as members." Most people that WANT to be president shouldn't be allowed to be.
- iAlex, on 12/11/2007, -5/+25Hillary Clinton is a corporate sell-out, traitor of the USA, frontman of United Nations and Globalization. It is said she attended the Bilderberg Group meeting. Bill Clinton did. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bilderberg_at ...
She would very likely ratify Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_the_Sea_Treaty ... here are 10 reason why not: http://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/Modules/New ...
How anyone can trust her after seeing "Hillary! Uncensored - The Trailer - Banned By The Media" http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7007109937 ... is strange.
Hillary Clinton must not be elected president of USA, of the reasons above and because she would not be in the interests of the people. - shunter99, on 12/11/2007, -7/+26Kucinich - Dec 15!
http://www.december152007.com - inactive, on 12/11/2007, -1/+18See..people like you will vote her in office just because she is a woman w/o realizing that all you're doing is voting in the Democratic version of G. W. Bush. But, hey, I guess deep down inside you want the status quo. I guess deep down inside you want to invade Iran and keep our troops in Iraq. Go ask Cindy Sheehan what she thinks of Hillary.
- Jobe479, on 12/11/2007, -0/+16That's a really terrible and foolish reason.
- osbjmg, on 12/11/2007, -1/+16Accepting money from lobbyists should be treason. I can't get my head around why we would allow this perversion of our system?
- MrPotato, on 12/11/2007, -3/+18Seems to me that this "earmark" thing needs to stop. How can we, the tax paying citizens, continue to allow our elected officials to bounce tax payer money off of corporations and other special interests? Think about it, the IRS says, at gun point, "give me your money or I'll take everything you own and ruin your *****' life" then turns around and hands a giant wad of it to someone like Hillary. She then turns around and gives it to some corporation or other "entity" knowing that she'll get a substantial contribution come election time. I'm not saying she's the only one doing this either but, it has got to stop.
Ron Paul 2008! - inactive, on 12/11/2007, -1/+15Someone once said "An honest politician is one who stays bought." Certainly true of the whores we have in office.
- inactive, on 12/11/2007, -8/+22And all these stupid liberals (especially the females) think Hillary is going to save America. Hey, she's a woman, right? I suppose that means she can do no evil...not!
- mscf, on 12/11/2007, -2/+15FTA:
"McCain, who has long opposed earmarks, does not write them." - doyoulikeworms, on 12/11/2007, -4/+17Every candidate is susceptible to this. Ron Paul included. It just so happens that the people that give Ron Paul the most money is, well, the people.
www.teaparty07.com - Veni_Vidi_Vici, on 12/11/2007, -7/+20FTA: Obama doesn't. He wants to reform the election code to clean it up.
- LisaThurmond, on 12/11/2007, -8/+21Stories like these are the reason I'm voting for RON PAUL. He only has one special interest --The US Constitution.
- TopherT, on 12/11/2007, -1/+13Oh come on, have you read anything about Guliani recently? Its truly amazing the depravity he sinks to.
- kaelyiesta, on 12/11/2007, -1/+12The thing is, there isn't all that much scrutiny on her right now. Imagine how much ***** would come to light if she were elected. Hell, we are still finding things out about bush and his buddies. The few things we see are the tip of an iceberg bearing down on us. I can only hope voters are wise enough to steer clear.
- CobaltBlue, on 12/11/2007, -0/+11Hey, he lived through 911. You need to take back that statement.
- monkey32123, on 12/11/2007, -2/+13i think in this situation shes really a bigger whore as proved by how much more she is ear marking by comparison. in my personal opinion i think she may be the most corrupt polititian currently running. brings to mind the great David Geffen quote, "Everybody in politics lies, but the Clintons, they do it with such ease, it's troubling"
Keep in mind, he was a major supporter of the Clintons financially until recently. - had3l, on 12/11/2007, -3/+12Nope, I'm sure he said that he'd take any contributions that come his way. The exception is he isn't corrupt, so he wouldn't really favor these companies in any special way.
- oceanrain, on 12/11/2007, -1/+10Typical news about the Clintons. If she makes it as Puppet in Chief, just think of her as a Pandora's box. She will make Nixon look like Pee Wee Herman.
- orlyfactor, on 12/11/2007, -1/+10Not just pork...BARRELS of pork! Mmmm.
- Trister0, on 12/11/2007, -0/+8She hasn't already?
- Fragowell, on 12/11/2007, -2/+10Sounds like you have truly given up on your government. Luckily, there are many of us who haven't.
- Gemfinder, on 12/11/2007, -9/+16Might as well face it: Senators will earmark projects for their constituents. You can call it "corruption" and "the best government money can buy," call it what you like, it's a fact of life, and now that the door is open it ain't gonna close. And it's been open since we've had a Senate.
As for "pork..." Keep in mind that President Bush called rural school funding "pork barrel." - Lennalf, on 12/11/2007, -0/+7Corporations are not an inherently evil concept. In fact, they are an extremely useful concept. However, they should not be given nearly as many legal protections and fiscal advantages as they are currently afforded in the US.
- theutopian, on 12/11/2007, -0/+7Obama doesn't take money from lobbyists either.
- johnyquest, on 12/11/2007, -2/+9I would have cheated on the whore too.
- medicinegivers, on 12/11/2007, -1/+7It's clear that corporations are polluting our democracy. We need to have more transparency in decision making processes.
