- The_Wallbanger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The man is a hero. As a military member of the executive branch, he chose to do his sworn duty and uphold the Constitution despite tremendous pressure from his superiors. While he may have left his job at the Pentagon, he will certainly find work elsewhere and earn considerably more income.
- Popdmb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3For anyone who believes this man to be anything but a hero, you're looking at this entirely the wrong way. This man's love of his country, most notably the document that protects every one of its citizens, should be copied by every military lawyer designed to do the same thing. Forcing a lawyer to plea one way or the ohter should be grounds for serving time in Guantanemo yourself.
Also, this guy probably had no affection one way or the other for Hamdan. He was simply doing upholding the laws this country was founded upon. Damn sad to see him not get promoted...
Even though it's Thinkprogress, Digg++ - MyHappyClam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sad to see him go, but he had been passed over once before. This was his second pass and he wasn't considered, therefore he has to retire. Many others have had the same thing happen to them. There are only so many slots at the top and the military has to pick which ones to promote. Unfortunately, I don't think they pick correctly this time.
