HOW DARE THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THE EXISTENCE OF GAY COUPLES. - Andrwmorph, on 06/24/2008, -1/+6The Flying Spaghetti Monster will not stand for this outrage! He will smite Heinz with his noodley appendage!
- Andrwmorph, on 06/24/2008, -0/+5PRAISE GOG!
- transguy, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4ANEM to that!
- herrdoktorc, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4Actually I have quite a few gay friends who have children from previous relationships. I've not heard a single story of any of their children being teased or bullied about their two daddies.
Maybe normal people don't persecute those kids and it's actually only the bigotted few who seek to justify their own beliefs by making such comments.
And if this organisation is so much about the "family" then they might actually want to stop, and THINK for a couple of seconds, and realise that they actually need to educate themselves, and their precious kids, one heck of a lot more before making comments like this. Because it's quite clear, if you actually spend more than a nanosecond thinking about the advert's message, that it's not actually showing a homosexual family. - Coven, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3rAmen!
- The7Sticks, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2Why am I not surprised that the American Fascists Association is at it again at trying to censor television? After all, it was these pathetic losers who tried to make the claim that Mighty Mouse was promoting cocaine use.
This is more of a fundraiser pledge drive to milk more money out of unsuspecting fools who will gain nothing but oppression against themselves.
The truth sure does hurt sometimes, doesn't it? - diggerphelps, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2PEWND.
- chigh, on 06/24/2008, -1/+3Apparently, Wildmon, et al. LTC.
Coming from this far right-wing advocacy group, the opening line is comedy gold/parapraxis:
"I thought you might be interested in seeing the Heinz ad featuring a homosexual family and two homosexuals kissing."
Thanks, Don. Keep up the good work. - diggerphelps, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1"Here *sniff* I come *snort* to save the *sniff* DAAAAYYYYY!"
- diverbear, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1When the self-proclaimed importance (and income) for your way of life is crumbling you'll grasp at any straw to maintain the status quo.
The fear of suspected witches filled the collection plates hundreds of years ago. The anti-Jewish hype filled the collection plates in the early 1900s. The McCarthy-spawned anti-communism era filled the collection plates from the late 1940s to the late 1950s. Playing the the racial card filled the collection plates in the 60s through the 80s. Now the fundraising agenda for this decade rests upon using homosexuals as the scapegoats to keep the collection plates filled and the uneducated masses in a panic. There are very few future targets to maintain those full collection plates which keep mega-churches in business. Is it any wonder why organizations like the AFA, Focus on the Family, and right wing political groups are going to such extremes to milk the last "cash cow" they can still legally persecute? - herrdoktorc, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1the gay value that we're just as equal as others seems perfectly reasonable to me - we're all human. if a particular subset of society has a belief base that thinks that's wrong then fair enough - but don't try and force that opinion on people who have a different belief structure.
religion vs. inherent makeup are very different
oh, and if there's a gay agenda floating around, can you tell me who i'm supposed to contact to get my copy? apparently i was left off the distribution list, and i want to make sure i don't end up with any action points against me - sadoc, on 06/27/2008, -0/+0Dear Cuban American. if you are a born-again believer you WILL NOT be going through the 7 years of tribulation. I praise God for that.
- diggerphelps, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1@Angeliquek
You didn't get the commercial at all, did you? - sadoc, on 06/27/2008, -0/+0Dear Zortnac, it appears that you as well as a great many think Believers in Christ hate homosexuals. That is not true, as Gods children we love all people for what they could be in His eyes. We do hate sin in all it's forms. Sin is anything that seperates us from God. I only pray that we all should listen to Him through His Word as to how we should live. May God Bless you.
- billyfire, on 06/24/2008, -1/+1Firstly its a really nauseating ad. Its not funny, its not clever and it certainly wouldn't entice me to enjoy their sandwich "spreads."
What is really insulting is that a big business feels that it has the right to indulge in a blatantly partisan attempt to influence the popular culture by throwing money at this sort of nonsense. - luvbnfree, on 06/27/2008, -1/+0I agree. We are all equal, both men and women. I also agree that we should be free to express our opinions openly and without fear of retribution.
Religion and Inherent Makeup go hand in hand. Faith is the cure for our inherent makeup. We are all fallen in our nature; none of us is perfect. The beauty of this is that we have a creator that loves us regardless of our faults, and this is what we all seek... unconditional love and acceptance. We are human, so we struggle with loving perfectly.
You can go to the Gay & Lesbian Lobby website; watch the news; watch movies; take a college class; standardized education laws in Iowa—penalizing private schools if they don't follow them; the anti-bullying law that just passed in Iowa, etc.
There is no law that hinders people from practicing homosexuality, but their are laws being passed right now, that will eventually hinder people from speaking what they believe, because of hate speech laws. People who bully, aren't practicing true religion. Canada and Sweden have already set the precedent, and the anti-bullying law was the first step in those countries. A Swedish minister was arrested at his church for preaching what I'm assuming was out of Romans 1:18-32, therefore it has become unlawful to disagree with homosexuality. This is not freedom.

- luvbnfree, on 06/26/2008, -1/+0I would agree with you in regards to it not being a homosexual family in the ad, but it's been a pretty sensitive issue in the last decade. The Gay agenda continues to push it's values in the media, the school system, legally, etc., and there are a lot of people who don't care for that life style, mainly people of faith.
Societies have ever changing moral standards, where people of faith have certain moral standards that don't change, and this is just one of them, because Moses wrote in the book of Leviticus (18:22) "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." People who believe this text as Truth, can not accept homosexuality as morally ok, even if a society accepts it. This debate has been going on for centuries.
People don't like it when values are forced on them. In this case, people of faith see the gay agenda forcing it's values on them, no different than one viewing the Church forcing it's values on them in the past. It's just that now the Gay & Lesbian Lobby is doing the exact same thing that they are offended by. - Angeliquek, on 06/25/2008, -2/+0You are a very confused liberal; since when did an organization that supports the American FAMILY become FASCISTS? Like any organization they need funds from the folks that they try to keep abreast of idiotic nonense such as this. Amazingly, I have never given them a dime and somehow they are still going strong, thank God.
How in the world does this organization oppress themselves or the people they try to inform? Please back up your ridiculous remark with some kind of factual info.
Yes, the truth does hurt. Because no one wants to hear the real truth. Not your truth or my truth but God's truth. It is a two edged sword, and I guarantee that would hurt plenty. This sanitized version of homosexuality that companies like this try to promote is hardly truthful. The "alternative" lifestyle is not normal and will always have repercussions.
What really aggravates me in this commerical is the exploitation of the children. Heniz is trying to suggest a normal family life among homosexuals because children are on the scene. And where exactly did those children come from because they sure as hell didn't come from a homosexual relationship! AIDS, yes, self-condemnation, yes, guilt, depression and suicide, yes those are all possible results of a homosexual lifestyle, but children are not and cannot grow and prosper in an environment such as that. Can you imagine the other kids at school teasing those kids mercilessly about their two "daddys?" In reality the decision of the "daddys" to try to live a normal family life would only cause those kids endless persecution from their peers.
Congratulations Heinz, and all those who like this commercial, on doing your part to help in the promotion of the downfall of a civilized society.
My store brand ketchup tastes better anyway. - njmomof5, on 06/24/2008, -5/+2Gosh, I'll miss their fine products...
- CubanAmerican, on 06/24/2008, -7/+1We continue in degenerating as a country as we drift away more and more from the "Fear of the Lord".
As Christians oppose the idea of men kissing each others as something that is contrary to the will of Gog, we can count with persecution even from some of the ones that congregate but that have bought the lies of the "humanist world" that surrounds us.
No matter, that would be good training for the moment we have to refuse the 666 mark and suffer for it. I am from the group of Christians that believe that His church will go trough great tribulation before the rapture.
