- inactive, on 03/31/2009, -61/+214Glen Beck is an alcoholic paranoid-schizophrenic.
- WhiteRaven, on 03/30/2009, -51/+138Beck fascinates me. He is such an odd mix of common sense and dogmatic whack job.
- kingcam, on 03/31/2009, -37/+118I saw Glen Beck live one time. I went to a talk in Toronto and he was the mystery speaker. I should have known that it was going to be a right wing frenzy the event was billed as Dick Army, Gephardt and a mystery moderator (I call shenanigans on any even that allow Glen Beck to be a moderator). Anyways, my group ended up getting a security detail attached to us after we applauded when Beck rhetorically asked "I mean does anyone here actually support the new left?" It was either that or when we jeered when he called Jimmy Carter an anti-Semite, I mean for me that he when he crossed the line, the man builds houses for poor people in his spare time, don't mess with Jimmy.
- brkello, on 03/31/2009, -31/+107You have to be kidding. This guy is a conservative whack job. If he called it both ways, he wouldn't be on Fox News. He used to write editorials for cnn.com and I am so glad he is gone. He is one-sided, uses poor logic, and is basically clueless. The only surprise to me was that he wasn't already on Fox News.
- DarkBlueAnt, on 03/31/2009, -34/+100I love how Fox News and it's followers make fun of Al Gore for ranting about the end of the world... and then they get this guy...
- ElGubrush, on 03/31/2009, -36/+96Takes an idiot to talk to idiots, I suppose
- inactive, on 03/31/2009, -50/+105Further proof people are idiots. You are being manipulated! Come on people!
- Harabeck, on 03/31/2009, -5/+54News channel fanboys? What has the world come to?
- pcpimpster, on 03/31/2009, -49/+96Beck is a moron. His irresponsible sensationalism is going to get someone killed.
- KenSPT, on 03/31/2009, -21/+67Political feelings aside, Glenn Beck is a very nice guy.
He was the morning DJ for a local radio station, KC101, here in Connecticut for my entire childhood. The show was never political, and was strictly an "entertainment program".
During his stint here he did tons of stuff to benefit the community, as well as raise money for worthwhile charities. He was known for giving back to the community, and he did so outside of his obligated radio events; he would regularly organize events on his own that got little to no publicity, all so he could benefit the less fortunate in our area.
While I may not agree with his political leanings all (or most) of the time, the guy helped alot of people and organizations in my area while he was here, and he deserves to be recognized for that. - Hetman, on 03/31/2009, -31/+69Glen Beck. What a piece of work. I am really concerned. Do people actually believe what he says? He points it out himself. If you believe everything Is say you are ignorant, I am just a rodeo clown here to entertain. I mean he says that himself. Yet he still has people who believe his BS.
- treehugger87, on 03/31/2009, -41/+79Beck is an excellent dramatic story teller but little more than an entertainer. If he could make more money selling the liberal POV he would switch over in a heartbeat.
- thespiff, on 03/31/2009, -7/+41Because Fox has mastered the art of the media spectacle better than the rest. Fox News is to Journalism what Pro Wrestling is to MMA. It's News Entertainment.
- MattB123, on 03/31/2009, -5/+37He's only anti Republican at times because they aren't always right wing enough for him.
- kyle5000, on 03/31/2009, -10/+41Glen Beck is all about reinstating the levels of nationalism we had after 9/11.
We need patriotism, not nationalism. - l0rdishtar, on 03/31/2009, -8/+37more like scary
- serif69, on 03/31/2009, -35/+63I'm getting tired of digg using "conservative" as a four-letter word. Those of us who are true conservatives generally don't believe in the so-called moral majority; we believe in smaller government and common sense. While Beck has his moments of lunacy (who doesn't), he is often a voice for those of us who are extremely frustrated by the Republican party but disagree with the platforms of modern liberalism. In the same way that Ron Paul is a voice of reason for us, Beck is a bullhorn. Ad hominem attacks won't stop that, and neither will blind hatred from a group of people who claim to be open-minded and compassionate.
- EmptyCraniuM, on 03/31/2009, -17/+45correction: recovering alcoholic.
He still is a paranoid-schizophrenic, probably caused from the alcohol abuse.
Shame he wasn't a pothead. The only thing he'd be recovering from would be the munchies or indigestion. - busdrivermike, on 03/31/2009, -37/+64Oh gosh, the republicans think the world is coming to an end now that they are pwned by the rest of the nation. Do wacked out conservatives have an issue? Glenn Beck....he is your mental tissue.
- ElGubrush, on 03/31/2009, -37/+64Whoa, a loud pissed off idiot on FOX? Say it ain't so!
- sprNmgcHlmt, on 03/31/2009, -46/+71he's a doofus in a denim jump suit.
find him fascinating?
You've got a turnip for a brain. - brokenex, on 03/31/2009, -37/+62Glenn beck is making a profit by inciting fear-mongering and post-apocalyptic fantasies. He has created a show for the paranoid conspiracy theorists. What a whack job.
- Bermygoon, on 03/31/2009, -29/+51
I am sick of opinionated blowhards being given an audience because they are on a 'news' show. This clown along with all the others is more interested in his ratings than informing audience. He is an idiot with a large soap box opening his pie hole and the masses follow; he would make any real news person sick.
He is a representation that the ‘dumbing down’ of America is in full stride. - DetpackJump, on 03/31/2009, -13/+34I don't understand why there is the need to lie like this. When I first heard about Beck a few years ago I heard he was supposedly non-partisan. I had to watch exactly one show to see that he is clearly a right wing guy. What's wrong with admitting what the guy's true lean is?
- muddhb, on 03/31/2009, -75/+94This guy sucks...BURY
- Zong, on 03/31/2009, -9/+28Why do the people who believe in god and religion constantly think they are under attack. THEY ARE THE MAJORITY on this planet, Atheist for the most party just want to be left alone, and not have it shoved down their throat which is constantly done on the public and government stage.
- 99butcher99, on 03/31/2009, -22/+41You have to be kidding! The guy is a whack job.
- SpinningHead, on 03/31/2009, -6/+24"I love watching you O-bots work yourselves into a frenzy in denouncing successful conservative voices."
Its the ignorance that makes us nervous. That's why were so supportive of education. Its also what he does that bothers us, not that he makes money at it. - pintomp3, on 03/31/2009, -6/+24I think that's a pre-qualifier to work at Fox News.
- Yage2006, on 03/31/2009, -26/+43It's kinda scary that so many people watch foxnews.
- frewdawg, on 03/31/2009, -23/+40Most people who hate or criticize Beck take him out of context. I listen to his radio show, where he's a lot more "real" and it's evident that he truly cares about the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the truth. I know a lot of people on Digg who were on the Ron Paul bandwagon last year. It's funny because Beck and Ron Paul have a ton of similar ideas on how to get America back on track. I guess it's all in the presentation.
- digg4peace, on 03/31/2009, -2/+18I am a Jew, I love Jimmy Carter, he is not anti-Semitic, he just disagrees with some of the Israeli Gov. policies...so do lots of Jews both here and in Israel
- diskoh, on 03/31/2009, -3/+19It's funny how Flo Rida has the #1 song, too. By your logic that makes him the best musician alive.
- Dumbledorito, on 03/31/2009, -2/+16One can disagree with Israel's policies and not be anti-Semitic. That's the problem with that term; it's so loosely applied that saying you don't care for bagels strikes some people as "anti-Semitic."
- BrewBeau, on 03/31/2009, -3/+16You'll never go broke appealing to the lowest common denominator.
- Zong, on 03/31/2009, -9/+22Glen Beck is more often about fear and showmanship ultimately he is about money
- duncan202, on 03/31/2009, -5/+18Why is it that it seems like many of the people considered evil here (Beck, Bill Gates etc.) actually have given enormous amounts to society as opposed to the losers in government who demand the rest of us have to give to society?
- scottk59, on 03/31/2009, -1/+14Or having the name WittyBanter and being incapable of actually participating in it.
- Kidtuf, on 03/31/2009, -21/+33Yet another failed disc jokey spouting *****.
- jayhawk88, on 03/31/2009, -4/+16Lol.
"In an interview, Mr. Beck, who recently rewatched the 1976 film “Network,” said he identified with the character of Howard Beale, the unhinged TV news anchorman who declares on the air that he is “mad as hell.”"
Yeah I'm sure you do identify with Network, the story of a news organization that forgoes real news in favor of the mad rantings of it's on-air talent, and blurs the line between news and entertainment. Sound like any channel you know? Seriously, if you've never seen this movie, go find it, and realize that it was basically a prophecy 30 years ago of how mainstream television news would transform from something that was made to inform to something that was made to entertain. This is one of the major problems we have in the world today. - xEn1gma, on 03/31/2009, -42/+54Has anyone ever seen his views on Iran? Jesus -- he would like nothing else to murder their babies and rape their women.
- KenSPT, on 03/31/2009, -2/+14What both sides need to realize is that just because you have fundamental disagreements with ones political leanings, does not make them bad people.
Far too many people on this site, other Liberal sites, and other Conservative sites, equate a disagreement in policy or politics to people being "evil"; I'm pretty sure, in most situations, it's simply not true. - ironhide, on 03/31/2009, -6/+17You're comparing a comedian on "Comedy Central" to someone who has a show on "Fox "News""?
- dshPls, on 03/31/2009, -4/+15You forgot the part when he fake cries about it.
- LeaveMomAlone, on 03/31/2009, -1/+12Great, opposing Israeli policy is anti-semitic. Good thing there aren't two Jewish states doing different things, or it would be impossible to keep track of all the anti-semites who disagree with one or the other.
By the way, if you disagree with me, you're anti-American. Why? Because I'm American! Makes perfect sense, just trust me. And if you are also American, then you're a self-hating American.
Wow, I think that explains a lot of kooky conservatives who question the patriotism of people who...question them. - WraTH017, on 03/31/2009, -1/+12@ Smuuv
No, it just makes you the most popular for the time being. Is Kim Jong Il the greatest leader of all time, because he gets 99.9% of the vote in every election? How about Stalin? Both certainly greater than Abe Lincoln by that logic. - Moonkeeper, on 03/31/2009, -2/+12Glenn Beck is the man. For the last couple years he's been rightly trashing the Bush admin. for its rapid expansion of government.
- inactive, on 03/31/2009, -25/+35The problem with Glenn Beck is, even when he isn't saying something controversial, I still have this incredible urge to punch him in his smug face. I swear, the guy could be reporting the weather, and he's still be annoying as hell.
- tavallai, on 03/31/2009, -10/+20Dear Fox Employees,
From now on, you will refer to his excellency as Grand Wizard Beck.
Thank you,
Rupert -
