Hopefully, this will put an end to the lies from the anti-Obama idiots.
Judges have thrown out the frivolous lawsuits from the wingnuts and smear merchants. The State of Hawaii, including the Republican Governor, have verified the authenticity of Obama's birth certificate. Obama's original birth announcement in the local newspaper from 1961 has also been verified.
End of f*cking story. - Awesomecat, on 11/01/2008, -21/+404Republicans covering their ears and going "LA LA LA LA LA LA" in 3.... 2.... 1....
- inactive, on 11/01/2008, -19/+247And yet it was McCain that was NOT born in the USA.
http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract-id ... - ironhide, on 11/01/2008, -15/+235This won't convince any of them, that's the convenient thing about conspiracy theories. Any opposition is part of the conspiracy.
- inactive, on 11/01/2008, -21/+186It must be stressful being a Republican.....you are easily scared, easily convinced of conspiracies and very easy to manipulate into doing anything.....like for instance voting against your own interest.
- inactive, on 11/01/2008, -42/+180There was never any question in my mind....I had seen other credible stories proving he was born in America....but it's nice to have another credible source....THIS IS THE MOST CREDIBLE SOURCE ACTUALLY! END OF STORY WHACK-JOBS! TIME TO FIND ANOTHER WAY TO SMEAR HIM....ASK MCSAME AND FAILIN THEY'VE GOT A FEW LOONY IDEAS. GET OUT AND VOTE FOR OBAMA PEOPLE!!!! THE GOP WILL TRY AND STEAL THIS IF THEY CAN SO WE NEED EVERY SINGLE VOTE WE CAN GET SO THAT THEY CAN'T STEAL IT!!!! OBAMA '08 (AND ALL OTHER DEMS FOR THAT MATTER)
- MsLaurel, on 11/01/2008, -16/+92That's right folks:
In case there was any doubt in our minds, in case we had suspicions that Obama was secretly French, or Italian, or Martian --the full disclosure of records is now available for perusal: Obama was, in fact, birthed by an American woman in an American hospital in the very American state of Hawaii.
We can all sleep now. Thank you! - plumcider, on 11/01/2008, -5/+81I give it less than twenty-four hours before some Limbaugh wannabee (or the idiot himself) claims that Obama really went back to Hawaii to bribe officials to say this, instead of visiting his sick Grandma.
Too bad I'm not a gambler. I'm pretty sure I'd win this bet.
For the diehard Obama-haters, no proof will ever be enough. - inactive, on 11/01/2008, -16/+90Another republican lie? Say it ain't so! We can file this with the "whitey" tape, The Larry Sinclair ***** and the non-existant call that Michelle allegedly made to the API.
- charm803, on 11/01/2008, -7/+79He made it available before, but people didn't believe factcheck.org, so this had to happen.
- sarahlee, on 11/01/2008, -4/+72Many Thanks!
- thoughtlover, on 11/01/2008, -16/+79The smartest thing Obama ever did was to actively repudiate every accusation that came his way. It makes his opponent look the fool every time a specious claim is made.
However, it is sad that these smears, and Ad Hominem Tu Quoque, have come characterize this election, because they detract from actual issues I care about (like misuse of bailout money, Limited Discrimination Net Neutrality, and FISA). After looking into certain smears, my respect for Obama actually INCREASED.
For instance, I spent time looking into the specious claim that Obama had political ties to Raila Odinga, who claims to be Obama's cousin. The fact is that many people in the Luo ethnic group (3 million strong) claim to be relatives of Obama. While Odinga's mother came from that region, there is no blood relationship. Odinga was trying to associate himself with Obama politically because Obama is a hero in Kenya (with schools and streets being named after him). After looking into it, my respect only INCREASED for Obama after viewing/reading the speech he gave on that 5 nation fact-finding tour of Africa (simultaneously destroying claims that Obama has no foreign policy experience, and that Obama misappropriated funds on that trip because he stopped by to see his grandmother). Here is that speech:

A re-occurring figure in the smear campaign against Obama is Jerome Corsi. You might remember him from such books as "Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry" and "The Obama Nation". Corsi put forth many of the popular debunked smears in his book. The fake birth certificate claim leaped from the blogosphere to the mainstream media when Jerome Corsi brought it up on Fox News. Corsi claims to have obtained documents and emails proving Obama donated to and supported Odinga, but those documents are widely criticized on both grammar and authenticity. This guy is a real slimebag, and anyone caught quoting him should immediately be laughed at.
This is the failure that is the internet driven smear campaign propagated by the Conservative nut-jobs. They chose to promote fantasy after fantasy in hopes they won't get caught in time. Had conservatives stuck to real issues, had they had clearer convictions, and had they painted a clearer picture of how to reach a sunnier tomorrow, they could have won my vote. Hate, lies, insinuation, fear, and a mantra of 'Not Obama" may win conservatives some votes. I, for one, believe America has had more than enough of all of that. - algaeturd, on 11/01/2008, -6/+68Anybody else think it's hilarious that raging right wingers like to make fun of 'conspiracy theorists' unless it's THEIR conspiracy? Everybody grab your tin foil hats....UNLESS you think Obama is a muslim. In that case, you're perfectly sane and rational.
My ASS. These people care less about logic, reason and facts than the average 2nd grader... - charm803, on 11/01/2008, -5/+62Seriously and no one is making a big deal about it because it shouldn't be an issue on a technicality.
These McCain supporters are too wacky. - thegreatsam, on 11/01/2008, -8/+61Probably STILL wont be enough to shut up some GOP crazies...
- ironhide, on 11/01/2008, -1/+53Thanks for being the first of the right-wing idiots to complain. I knew no amount of proof would be enough for your kind. Let me guess, The Department of Health director is part of the conspiracy, right?
- boyasunder, on 11/01/2008, -1/+51Dude. Obama was born in 1961. Hawaii became a state in 1959.
It was a state already, so there's no issue. - MediaWeasel, on 11/01/2008, -11/+59Hopefully too, people will have had to pay out fines for wasting court time in these ridiculous lawsuits.
- str1fe, on 11/01/2008, -3/+50WHY ARE WE YELLING?
- titlesaysitall, on 11/01/2008, -5/+51CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL.
- homercles337, on 11/01/2008, -1/+46They sure are good at that, arent they?
- Tiak, on 11/01/2008, -5/+47The thing is, the lies never mattered. "natural-born" citizen means non-naturalized citizen, one who was born a citizen. So long as Obama's mother was a citizen, he would qualify...
Remember people, McCain was born in Panama, and yet his supporters somehow claim there would be a constitutional crisis of Obama was born out of the U.S... How is this level of cognitive dissonance even possible? - hayzeus, on 11/01/2008, -1/+42WE AREN'T YELLING STOP WE'RE PRETENDING THAT WE'RE AN OLDE-TIMEY TELEGRAPH MESSAGE STOP
- algaeturd, on 11/01/2008, -3/+44The governor 'itself?'
'don't' have the right?
Obviously you're very, very intelligent and very, very well educated.
I'll question your opinions no further...
pfffffffffttttttttt....... - ironhide, on 11/01/2008, -2/+42Sad to say, I wouldn't bet against you.
- gidd, on 11/01/2008, -0/+40DBeta: that's a far too narrow definition of "natural born". The only alternative to "natural born" is "naturalized", ie. acquired citizenship _after_ birth, as opposed to being a citizen from birth. Being born on US soil isn't the only way to be born as a US citizen, ie. a natural born citizen.
Oh, and this applies to McCain too... sure, he was born outside the US, but you don't even need to bring up the whole "Panama Canal Zone = US Soil" argument that always gets trotted out at this point. McCain was born to US citizens, and thus is a natural-born citizen, just like Obama.
They're both eligible to hold the the office of President. Get over it. - inactive, on 11/01/2008, -14/+53This will do nothing to quell the idiot Rethuglicans.
My biggest worry is what's going to happen after Tuesday? Do we really think the Rethuglicans will allow our Barrack to take office? - drshorty, on 11/01/2008, -6/+44Wow, ok so every time I hear what the one Factcheck is, it's a different kind. Electronic transfre, laserjet printout. Even though factcheck has off angle photos, and one in which they specifically took at an angle to show the a raised seal to prove authenticity. And still, people talk like they didn't have enough info.
Well at least now we have state authorities attesting to it. - ThsGuyRightHere, on 11/01/2008, -3/+41Here's the effect that the smear-a-week tactic employed by the McCain campaign, with people like yourself acting as willing accomplices:
I don't care.
Seriously, I don't give a *****. At this point you guys could come up with a news story saying that Obama eats babies and I would just dismiss it as more BS that will be refuted in a day or two.
You're the Republican party who cried wolf. Besides - I already voted. You're spinning your wheels there boss.
There are arguments to rebut your claim, but I'm not going to waste my time. You're not going to change my mind, I'm not going to change yours, and when all is said and done you'll still be full of *****. - sugarazor, on 11/01/2008, -1/+39Well they're not necessarily full of *****, they're just ***** dumb - Hawaii became a state in 1959, Obama was born in 1961.
- voyetra8, on 11/01/2008, -11/+49Now Obama can finally enslave the white race, and give all of our money to the blacks!
Also, he wants to make all whites work in salt mines and he wants to make our children join Al Qaeda!
/saracasm
I can't ***** wait for the neocon ***** to cry themselves to sleep on Nov. 4th. Hahhahaahahahahah. - oldgal, on 11/01/2008, -4/+41He was born an American citizen by virtue of having a parent who is a citizen.
- doople, on 11/01/2008, -2/+38Records don't go back that far.
- CVL4317, on 11/01/2008, -0/+35may i see mccain's?
- str1fe, on 11/01/2008, -4/+37I thought McCain wasn't born in America because he was born in Spain. Didn't he come over on the Santa Maria?
- phroztbyt3, on 11/01/2008, -2/+34Proof that your a ***** idiot, and the Obama and Mccain donation websites do not do a citizens' check. Do you realize how long it would take for your donation to submit. This could very well happen to Mccain too, moron.
- sugarazor, on 11/01/2008, -8/+39"But to be a President, you have to be a natural born American citizen. There is a difference. He has to be born on US soil. "
So John McCain can't be president? There's never been a clear, legal definition for what "natural born" means. - AngelaQ, on 11/01/2008, -2/+32You seem to be misunderstanding that a birth certificate is generated in a locale when the baby is born. It is not a random piece of paperwork collected from wherever they feel like getting it from. Feel free to look up the birth announcement in the local newspaper. It is there.
- ThsGuyRightHere, on 11/01/2008, -2/+32First, it's a statement to the class with which the Obama campaign has been managed that they wouldn't stoop so low as to make an issue of this.
But also, I've nopticed a pattern of in the attacks coming from the right. Make a big deal about Obama's birth so as to draw attention away from the place of McCain's birth. Accuse Acorn of vote fraud so as to draw attention away from the fraud that they perpetrated in 2000 and 2004. I belive that's called "projecting". - AngelaQ, on 11/01/2008, -8/+38Clearly this is an error. His father was not a Kenyan, he was one of the black Irish. The family name is O'bama, but they dropped the apostrophe so people would not think about the fact that he would have dual citizenship. /sarcasm
- ceredron, on 11/01/2008, -1/+30you're SO DUMB.
semantically. "valid fake certificate" makes me want to puke as someone who understands english.
More importantly... your baseless convictions also make me want to puke. - secrity, on 11/01/2008, -3/+32He had no reason to speak publicly about his birth certificate. He did state that he was born in Hawaii. Hawaii had been a state for nearly two years when he was born.
- greencandy, on 11/01/2008, -4/+32"I'm not a fan of facts. You see, the facts can change, but my opinion will never change, no matter what are the facts."
- dvpower, on 11/01/2008, -1/+29"obama eats babies" - 352,000 google results
- kebinusan, on 11/01/2008, -7/+34And I just bought a bunch of tinfoil I was planning on making into hats
- voyetra8, on 11/01/2008, -2/+28They haven't "refused" to produce the birth certificate. They've shown it many times, and it's been independently verified by multiple sources.
The fact is, the conspiracy nuts will never be satisfied. So ***** 'em. Why even bother trying to appease their lunacy? - Ganpachi, on 11/01/2008, -0/+26That's a good point! They haven't proven that they *aren't* aliens!
- phroztbyt3, on 11/01/2008, -2/+28you ***** tard, what makes you qualified in document genuinity. Unless you are a code cipherer, dna analyzer, or someone with a brain, YOU my friend do not get the point.
