- SzaszMan, on 08/03/2008, -1/+2If you're trying to suggest that Democrats somehow are the fascists and Republicans are *not*, I think you're delusional. However, if you're suggesting that Dems share some responsibility for this nation's collective goose-step towards fascism, than I agree.
BTW, the Bush administration actually advocated for the Washington DC gun ban, and you're confusing "The Fairness Act" (which is a tort reform bill advocated by the Democrats) with the Fairness Doctrine, which is actually a set of federal regulations originally created by the FCC.
... and if the worst thing about fascism was someone worrying about what we ate or smoked, I think we'd be in a lot less trouble right now as a nation. It's the wars, torture, and warrantless spying I worry more about. - inactive, on 08/04/2008, -1/+2Democrats have been fascists since the party was founded. Let's start with slavery. Then, we can move on to segregation. And now the crime against humanity du jour is abortion. I don't recall being given a chance to vote on that. It was forced on us.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -4/+3Scuse me.
Who wants ever higher taxes so the government can finance its wars?
Who wants to ban guns so that only the police are armed?
Who wants to trample free speech with hideous legislation like The Fairness Act?
Who wants to tell us what to eat (no transfats, no meat, no junk food), what to wear (no fur), what to drive (no gas guzzlers), what to smoke (tobacco bad, pot good), etc., etc., etc..
Who nominates liberal, activist judges who legislate from the bench?
Yup, this country IS becoming fascist.
