- Minarchian, on 01/02/2008, -9/+101Fox News has admitted that "Hannity is not a Journalist, he's an entertainer"
As if they really needed to say that. - katie212, on 01/02/2008, -12/+102Just another example of the peoples hardearned tax dollars at work.
- unpolloloco, on 01/02/2008, -8/+85but 9/11
- someguyouknow, on 01/02/2008, -10/+79Man, I just cannot believe that someone... anyone still supports Rudy Giuliani. Either they don't know enough about him, turn a blind eye to his many "faults" or are simply stupid.
It seriously angers me just to see his face. Hearing his lispy speeches makes me want to harm people... - cattleprod, on 01/02/2008, -22/+55Fox= Neo-Con Hive
- Strongo, on 01/02/2008, -6/+33but didn't year hear Rudy's message, if you don't vote for him you're probably going to die. I know I don't want to die, I have ***** to do this year, thus I probably should vote for him.
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -8/+339/11 was a time of confusion and mayhem. As mayor of New York I excelled at controlling the situation. Sure, I talk about 9/11 A LOT.
But you have to realize that 9/11 was 9/11 and I am Rudy, lol, surprise cockfags
~ Rudy Giuliani answering a question about health care
/s or is it? - inactive, on 01/02/2008, -4/+26Hannity is a tv talking head, not a Senator. How does he rate protection of this order? If he is worried about getting attacked, he should hire his own security. He can afford it.
- whatthefu, on 01/02/2008, -10/+31This is ***** idiotic. I could understand it if he was in some sort of danger, but what the *****?
- Bagos1, on 01/02/2008, -6/+26But he WAS in danger...he may have run into a Ron Paul supporter.Shawn detests that sort of thing. He could have been upset you know. Thank goodness the police were there.
- Curlz31, on 01/02/2008, -13/+29Hannity = Fascist Parrot
- Skwerl, on 01/02/2008, -8/+23Either way, publicly funded law enforcement shouldn't be hired out for escort duty.
- felman87, on 01/02/2008, -5/+20Spell check FTW!!
- TwinTurboMike, on 01/02/2008, -3/+17The problem is, the networks are referred to as "News", thus subconsciously leading the less-educated/informed to believe that truth is being delivered.
That said, there are scores of people who believe that what they see on soap operas are those actors & actresses real lives. Perhaps you can also lump in Pro Wrestling too. :-) - KaJuN4, on 01/02/2008, -1/+13He was in Cincinnati so yeah, his life was in danger.
- p51d007, on 01/02/2008, -5/+14It's a big deal because it stirs up the liberal democraticunderground.com or DailyKOS nutjobs
- laterthandawn, on 01/02/2008, -6/+14Somehow, this conjured up Ghostbusters' Keymaster/Gatekeeper images in my head.
There is no Rudy, only Zuul. - pgoetz, on 01/02/2008, -1/+9They can rent off-duty cops who are essentially moonlighting, but that's it.
- banmaster, on 01/02/2008, -3/+11Isn't an entertainer supposed to be, well, entertaining?
As for the whole commentator thing, yes, its true, they are commentators (except Keith) but if thats the truth they SHOULDN'T PRESENT THEMSELVES AS JOURNALISTS like they constantly do! - oldhick, on 01/02/2008, -3/+11You guys are all morons. The police escort people all the time. They escort celebrities to events if need be, they escort funerals processions, my sister had a police escort to the hospital.... There a million different reasons for the police to escort someone some where and only a jack ass would make a big deal out of this.
- Charlotte_Web, on 01/02/2008, -2/+9Wrong. The police don't work on commission. It doesn't matter how much or how little the person makes.
The police are charged with keeping the peace. They escort celebrities because it falls under keeping the peace. - inactive, on 01/02/2008, -2/+8I must have missed the "entertainment" part.
- LeeSoong, on 01/02/2008, -4/+10Rudy, Rudy, you little tease you!
Have you found a new lover - Sean Hannity ?
Just like old times, eh? when you were married to one woman, and the tax payers paid for Chauffeuring for your adulterous relationship with that other woman.
Is it Sean Hannity now?
Not that there is anything wrong with that ! - bobodew, on 01/02/2008, -0/+6Most likely every major event around you the police are hired for escort duty. Hell, I'm just your "average joe" citizen and I've ridden in a state police escort helicopter to a race before. It's common, its normal and there's nothing wrong with it. Because he has money doesn't mean he should not be allowed to and you should. Oh one more example recently the circus hired the local police to escort the elephants down the road from their holding area's to the local arena for their show. Those evil elephants !
- HigherLogic, on 01/02/2008, -3/+9You know how TV shows have those black ratings boxes and disclaimers before violent stuff or stunts are about to be shown...Fox should do that before these jackasses come on.
- Bisquick, on 01/02/2008, -2/+8Show me an open minded radio host and I'll show you someone who won't have a show for very long.
- mattsw84, on 01/02/2008, -1/+6Your wisdom has no place on this internet.
- FearFactory, on 01/02/2008, -4/+9***** Hannity
- gklitt, on 01/02/2008, -3/+8Since when has Hannity not shown his true colors???
- LeeSoong, on 01/02/2008, -2/+7top-tier?
What are you measuring Rudy by,
- Total Number of Marriages ? - mal1964, on 01/02/2008, -9/+14This is so who gives a *****!
- Charlotte_Web, on 01/02/2008, -2/+7...therefore, the ride in the cop car is justified. The police are charged with keeping the peace, and Hannity is a controversial commentator. Giving him a ride averts nutjobs such as yourself from creating an incident.
- loudintl, on 01/02/2008, -0/+5Could someone please clarify - is it true that civilians can "rent" police escorts?
- TheSwashbuckler, on 01/02/2008, -0/+5"but didn't year hear Rudy's message, if you don't vote for him you're probably going to die."
That strategy worked for Bush in 2004.
It's absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States.
--- Dick Cheney - coldcoffee, on 01/02/2008, -4/+9We could've used that money to hire a few more snowplows this AM.
- klarc, on 01/02/2008, -2/+7many celebrities are escorted by police to get to events. once again digg users get dramatic because its a conservative doing it
- Psychojon, on 01/02/2008, -0/+5Those cops were probably on a paid detail. Which means someone other then the tax payer was footing the bill. It also means the cops were making like 50 bucks an hour. A lot of high profile people hire police details, it's a service almost all local law enforcement provides.
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -5/+10Is that normal practice? That seems ok to you, hiring the cops to protect a celebrity? It's not a loaded question. Should they be for hire at all? Should they not be purely to protect and serve the general public, not some millionaire?
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -8/+13That's helping the PUBLIC. Not a rich, pampered individual tv celebrity. He can hire his own ***** security, just like every other rich megastar.
- rancidpony, on 01/02/2008, -3/+7This is from August of 07. Story seems a little stale.
- oldhick, on 01/02/2008, -0/+4Why would anyone think he's a journalist? He's a commentator/editorialist just like most everyone on TV.
- hmmmok, on 01/02/2008, -0/+4Cool. no foreign news has biases. Good to know.
- AveryDeDog, on 01/02/2008, -8/+12Frecon must have really been trolling hard to come up with this gem from August 2007. Taking it out of context surely took brains and savvy. Hannity was in Cincinnati for one of his "Freedom Concerts". You may have heard of these concerts - they benefit the families of injured and killed US military. These concerts sell out the venues and Rudy was a featured guest. As such, it is entirely appropriate for the police to escort celebs in and out of a crowded venue.
As for Giuliani being "America's Fascist", you should have lived in NYC during the administration of David "The Washroom Attendant" Dinkins. The City was a ***** hole spiraling into Third World-like conditions. All the liberal ass-hats cried a river as their "rights" eroded under Rudy. Look it up! - Frostman3D, on 01/02/2008, -6/+10In America, celebrity is royalty. Also, Hannity is one of the main posterboys of the neocons, so police and other fascist types worship him. I consider myself to be a conservative, but Hannity and the neocons, along with the media are destroying our country.
- oldhick, on 01/02/2008, -0/+4You can obtain "on duty" escorts as well.
- jamesallen74, on 01/02/2008, -2/+6It depends on who paid for it. If tax dollars paid for it, then it's wrong. But I live in Cincinnati (and by the way can't stand hannity), lots of cops work overtime paid for by private companies. My church hires 3 police officers every weekend. It's hours above and beyond their 40 hour street beat, and paid for by the church. Our church has 8000 people with a big kids area, so they have it for security. Hiring them out of your personal pocket is not wrong. The cops sign up for it, get paid 1.5 their hourly rate. Everyone wins.
- SickMonkey, on 01/02/2008, -2/+6Hannity's Freedom Concerts are a scam. In San Diego, for example, tickets went from $38-$78 each, but only $4 went to actually help veterans. The rest went into the promoters (including Hannity's and Oliver North's) pockets.
Read the yellow box if you don't believe me: http://www.760kfmb.com/kfmb_info/hannity_freedom_c ... - inactive, on 01/02/2008, -0/+4How do you know it wasn't a paid detail, meaning Hannity or Fox paid for the escort?
- rexblade, on 01/02/2008, -1/+4LOL hes afraid Ron Paul people will picket him chicken *****.
- petewiz, on 01/02/2008, -1/+4Alan Colmes is the journalistic equivalent of a limp dick. And yeah it is almost like he doesn't exist, considering that he gets a lot less air time than Hannity. The only reason he has a job is because they wanted someone who looks like a ventriloquist's dummy to oppose the (not my description) "handsome" Hannity. The "liberals" hired by Fox News tend to have either no brains or no balls, as any time their views are presented, they are promptly buried by the company line: pro-Murdoch propaganda and buzzword ***** designed to appeal to certain segments of the US (the uneducated portion, which is fairly large).
