Hamdan Gets 5.5 yrs Prison, May Be Detained Indefinitely

thinkprogress.org — Yesterday, Salim Ahmed Hamdan was found guilty of material support for terrorism, after being held in U.S. custody for seven years. Today, the military court at Guantanamo sentenced him to five and a half years in prison; the prosecution had asked for a minimum 30-year sentence.

  • inactive, on 08/08/2008, -0/+1No one has ever made an effective case that the military should have been involved in any of this. Crimes by foreign nationals, like 911 crimes, are clearly more in the CIA and FBI areas of expertise.
