Yes, to truly be a Republican instead of a Republican In Name Only, you have to surgically remove the part of your brain that critically analyzes anything and replace it with a transmitter that helps you spout out the most current GOP talking points. It also helps true GOP memers to view everyhting only black and white / good and bad. McCain had that surgery performed about 9 months ago to get the 2008 nomination.
