Sigh. How many times do we have to go over this? It's not about hunting. It's about the right to defend one's self. In that regard, Obama's record is abysmal. - inactive, on 08/25/2008, -0/+4This entire gun show "loophole" is a phony issue that gun grabbers like Obama have ginned up to curtail our rights. If the issue were whether an 18-year-old could buy pornography, the liberals would be up in arms and it WOULD be an election issue.
I bought my gun at a gun show and I had to go through a background check, because I bought it from a dealer, not a private person. Had I bought my gun through a dealer outside a gun show, I still would have had to go through the background check. Had I bought it from a private person at a garage sale, I would not have had to go through a check. It's as simple as that.
Were we to interpret the 2nd Amendment as broadly as the liberals interpret the 1st Amendment, it would be legal for people to own nuclear weapons.
