Yeah, that was an ***** comment. But it was just a ***** failed joke. - SpaceMonkeyZero, on 10/11/2007, -3/+35I didn't quite understand why Hilary wanted to be associated with a Sociopath mob boss in the first place?
Paulie Walnuts (Tony Sirico) was spotted at a Giuliani fund raiser recently. - JimmyIkon, on 10/11/2007, -5/+33It was a joke about the Clinton's Sopranos skit you oversensitive morons.
- JCSaint, on 10/11/2007, -18/+44What a dick.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 10/11/2007, -15/+34Oh yeah, and how is this any different than the people who made the that movie about Bush getting clipped?
- bonjovisucks, on 10/11/2007, -6/+24Hey, let's take everything everybody says out of context, post it on digg, and get everybody in a hooplah over nothing!
Seriously, grow up. Buried as ***** Ridiculous. - davebg8r, on 10/11/2007, -8/+24Give me a break. The guest said it and he was obviously kidding. While his comments were in poor taste, it was keeping with the Sopranos theme. Dont get all self righteous when so many left wingers have said things about torture or death to the POTUS and VP.
Try reading comments on many of the stories on thinkprogress and Daily Kos and then have some integrity and shout down the people there with their ridiculous comments. - DAaaMan64, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15***** zealous and ridiculous titles like "Guest Of CNN’s Beck: Watching Someone Murder The Clintons Would Be 'Great'" is why I don't get my politics from digg. They are far to often stretch versions of the content they hold, and by the time I have found out what was really meant I am disgusted with the journalist.
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Given the context of what they were talking about (the Clinton's spoof of the Soprano's finale), if was an off-color, tongue-in-cheek remark made purely in jest. The comment was even keeping in context of what ACTUALLY happened in the Soprano's finale. Big, fat, hairy deal.
It's not like the unhinged lefties that you always see on Zombietime (like this guy -- http://www.zombietime.com/us_out_of_iraq_now_sf_3-18-2007/IMG_2393.JPG ) openly and seriously calling for the assassination of our President without any subtext of comedy. - thcobbs, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10I thought that the kerry thing was blown way out of proportion. The best response was made by the troops themselves with the banners they made begging kary for help.
- Nidy1, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9God forbid we make a joke on TV...
- danielrh9, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Stupid comment, but totally taken out of context and blow out of proportion. Don't let the media lead you into verbal McCarthyism.
- eth3l, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8So its alright to talk about killing the Bushes, and all right to call him hitler, but nthis joke chokes your conscience?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10WAAA WAA someone said something mean about a politician I like look how stupid and immature they are! WAAA WAA
- DeltaV, on 10/11/2007, -5/+11Glenn Beck rocks. Lefties need to lighten up and get a sense of humor. (Now digg me down, sour puss) :-)
- diabolicdiablo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7That headline was kinda taken out of context.
- Crusader1145, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7How many times have liberals fantasized in public about killing Bush or other conservatives and Republicans and no one on the left uttered a word of protest. Spare me the outrage.
- bigfinger, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5@ SpaceMonkeyZero
It's not. The same people who cry foul when it's someone on their side of the isle are the ones who stand up, cheer, and digg every story bashing Bush. I do think a lot of things have gone wrong with the White House, but I don't blindly support everything that comes out as bad publicity. - matts0344, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7If someone instead joked of someone killing the Bushs you guys would all be having orgasms but its the Clintons so you're all upset.
- civperc, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10Womp womp womp, the guy didn't literally want them offed.
Whenever a liberal is slightly attacked by a conservative, it's sooo offending and the evil beyond description. But, when it's the other way around, it's cause for celebration. Right? You people are idiots. - CraigJ, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Think progress would have a lot more credibility if they focused on some real issues instead of digging up these little tidbits and blowing them up all out of proportion to the original context. I mean, really, some lame show host's guest makes a Sporanos related joke about the Clintons (keeping in mind that it was Hillary herself that initiated that connection). How is this news? It's not like Beck said I'd like to kill Hillary or something. for ***** sake thinkprogress, grow up. Lame.
- WizardGlick, on 10/11/2007, -9/+14That joke was tame in comparison to what happens on HuffPo whenever there's a story about the US vice president.
Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks. - egh3, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Yeah, because no liberal has ever suggested killing GWB.
- chesbomb, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6in other news, the digg comment system sucks.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9Jesus... Relax people. It's just silly television banter.
- dbutters, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Beck responded with a smile, “No, I did not want to see that.”
Just an important bit of context there. Have you ever watched his show or listened to his radio program? - PhantomBantam, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7Shawnfest, "they did it first" is not an excuse for overreacting.
Besides, how many times have you heard people talk about wanting to kill Bush, only being dead serious. - nixonrichard, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7http://digg.com/movies/Watch_the_video_of_George_Bush_being_assassinated
http://digg.com/movies/Death_of_a_President_Bush_Assassination_Movie_Debuts_in_Toronto - thewebguy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6i sort of don't have any respect for thinkprogress right now, this is such a stretch it's not even worth thinking about posting.
buried as inaccurate.. (of course, watch the ***** video) - CraigJ, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5No way. Thinkprogress NEVER takes anything out of context. How dare you even suggest such a thing. /sarc
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -8/+12She has a death wish for all of us........
- SilasTommorrow, on 10/11/2007, -5/+9Geez it was just a damn joke. Don't blow it out of proportion. Buried as lame.
- appleann1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Great comeback CW. Think Progress, I didn't even have to look.
- Mudcrutch, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5He obviously doesn't watch the Sopranos -- because Paulie wouldn't kill Carmella or Tony -- even if there was some resentment over the years..
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4More fodder for all the politically crazed DigBots. . . . Go little pea-brained imbeciles!!
- bonjovisucks, on 10/11/2007, -5/+8and the new comment system sucks.
- northwatuppa, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You're being ironic, right??? I hope.
- bonjovisucks, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Agreed. It's almost to the point that I want to start a Digg alternative that has no political bias and simply stays away from posting any political stories.
- drmobutu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Ha, Ha!
How many times I've had that exact fantasy about somebody doing the same thing to some Talking Head reading the news....seriously, can't we all just be frank about who we would like to see murdered, live, on national television, without everybody getting all PC about it? I mean, wouldn't it be great if somebody snuck up behind Nancy Grace, and...pow! fade to black, roll credits... - zezerik, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Wow. Some guy said something about someone... Why is this even considered "news" or better yet, why would anyone care about this?
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I think the big question is who whacked Vince Foster?
- hmmmok, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Yeah, it's not like the guest really wanted them Vince_Foster'ed.
- Waiting2awake, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4tis the only thing they know.....
- jwaycuilis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Buried as inaccurate. The title did NOT reflect the content properly, very misleading.
- usercc, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4If Hillary becomes president, those two will be harassed by the Clinton cronies and targeted for audit by the IRS. That is the Clinton way.
Wishing a president or even a former president dead is not a smart thing to do. I expect that the Secret Service will be investigating. - panicofficer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2It was obviously a joke, albeit a rather inappropriate joke. I don't care for the Clintons but I would never joke about their murder (even if it was keeping with the Sopranos theme)... of course, most of the readers of Think Progress joke about Bush's murder daily. Hypocrites.
- IslandDog, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2This is so typical of hypocritical liberals here. Go read some of the comments about Bush and Cheney from the liberals here, and then watch them get "offended" at this nonsense.
- waterboy251, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Why is this front page material? This isn't offensive to anyone, he was talking about the lame internet video skit that Hillary did on her website, not about "killing them in real life."
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Hey PITVIPER, put this in your ThinkProgress pipe and smoke it, you pathetic paid propagandist:
http://digg.com/politics/Pelosi_Unable_to_Tell_The_Difference_Between_US_and_Canadian_Soldiers - BohicaTwentyTwo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2John Kerry?
