Good to know the rich can consume as much of the earth's resources as they want and keep a clean conscience by simply paying someone else to make sacrifices for them... - daRoach, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4People who have enough money to consume as much of the earth's resources as they want and keep a clean conscience by simply paying someone else to make sacrifices for them. Weren't you listening?
- DealCracker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4-- The "Becoming Green Like Al Gore" Instruction Manual --
1. Become rich and powerful
2. Build a large mansion and equip it with large powerful appliances and mechanical systems.
3. Add lots of unnecessary amenities such as dusk to dawn perimeter lighting, patio heaters and a large pool with a gas fired heater and pool house.
4. Fly around the country in a private jet and drive a fleet of SUVs wherever you go.
5. Pay or (better yet) legislate the peasants to conserve energy to offset the fuel emissions that you create with your lavish and wasteful lifestyle.
6.Relax, have fun and feel good about your greenness. - witte, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5ha ha, LOL. So typical of these hysterical hollywood hypocrites.
This one's a classic. - steven401, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3But did they ever reach the front page? No.
- LDanix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can dish it out but can't take it? The ad hominem attacks are okay for you to use ("lame wingnut mouth-pieces-masquerading-as-sentient-beings"; "friggin'mo-rons"), but no one else. That's the type of logic that will prevent people from taking you seriously. BTW, I didn't see a single bit of name calling in that piece.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's pathetic that anyone takes him seriously.
The amount of energy this ***** wastes you'd think that even he doesn't believe in the global warming hysteria he helped to create. - humpingmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Who exactly are "the rich?"
- GopherGod, on 10/12/2007, -7/+7The fact that he is still using that much energy despite his "green" use is still absurd.
- tpcracker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The funny part to me is he waited until after his movie was out to remodel his house and using solar power. Don't you think that should have been done before the whole so-called documentary was even started. Second, who cares if its green energy, its still being used by his mansion instead of someone else that doesn't require 20x as much energy.
- offcamber, on 10/12/2007, -7/+6Gore looks more like an energy whore than an enviro champion.
- coit, on 10/12/2007, -7/+6Exactly!
These neo-greenies want the liberals to believe it is possible not to consume fossil fuels. Sorry, it just isn't possible. Not until every vehicle runs on electricity or hydrogen, and that all electricity is generated by solar, wind, hydro, or nuclear sources. Until then, he is producing proportionally more greenhouse gasses, no matter how much he pays to make his guilt go away.
The funniest part of this is that the best chance we have to reduce the carbon footprint is to increase the usage of nuclear power. Talk about your liberal dilemma!! - dshPls, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Marked as spam, this has been submitted 20X!!!!!! times.
- nblsavage, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Looks like they are getting at least some of their power from renewable resources and they are refitting the house for solar power. More than most people do I'm sure.
- seajayf, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4You lame wingnut mouth-pieces-masquerading-as-sentient-beings, more friggin propoganda to beat down the truth and salve you deeply buried guilt. How did the right-wing-pretending-to-be-bipartisan TCPR get Al Gores utility bills? Not legally I'm sure. Compare a mansion to average households? get live you friggin'mo-rons and deal with the issue and quit ad hominem attacks on the messenger and stick to subject--global warming.
- boonesfarm, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Hmmmm... Buried..... Get that red thumb out of your ass and tell us how Gore is not a hypocrite.
- boonesfarm, on 10/12/2007, -11/+6Hello? [echo]
Is this story being buried by the oh-so-progressive Digg Kiddies? This is the funniest story in months! Great timing.
Mr. Gore, you're pants are down.
