1. Secret society Membership -- Skull and Bones, Mafia, etc
1. Defense -- Get caught and we'll defend you
2. Immunity -- Get caught we'll take care of it for you
3. Destroy evidence -- Karl Rove's e-mails, Hitler burning books, Stalin not only killed those who opposed him but hired artists to erase their pictures from history
4. Bad memories -- Iran contra affair, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, Scooter Libby, etc.
5. Short prison terms - Those sentenced in the Nuremberg Trials, etc.
6. Protection -- 9/11 is a perfect example. If the government story were true, there would have been numerous investigations, terminations, discharges etc. for total failure of national security, no interceptor jets, etc.
7. Promotions - 9/11 again -- responsible and accountable people were praised and given promotions
8. New identities -- This is the hardest to trace, but often the guilty suddenly die and you wonder
