- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -9/+81Giuliani doesn't care about Iraq issues unless the issues are making his consulting firm money.
- astanhope, on 10/11/2007, -8/+59Rudy really brings little or nothing to the table in terms of qualifications for the presidency.
What about the ferrets, Rudy? - NuclearBlast, on 10/11/2007, -5/+40It's important because he wants to be the next President of the United States, and instead of attending important meetings about the war we are currently fighting, he is attending religious events designed to bolster his image in the largest religious sect in America.
Maybe he can show he actually wants to fix things by, y'know, LEARNING something about Iraq at the meetings. - chesbomb, on 10/11/2007, -6/+399/11!
- Keach, on 10/11/2007, -10/+37Giuliani is a Giant strap-on anal probe.
- birdspot, on 10/11/2007, -3/+29please: read ALL of this post before you digg me up or down.
as a devout fundamentalist Christian and an investigative journalist i would i feel it's pertinent to point out that Rudy is not a Christian in the Biblical sense.
and you don't have to agree with my religious views to figure that one out.
Rudy married his 2nd cousin... and then divorced her 14 years later.
Rudy Giuliani has repeatedly dressed up in drag - publicly. Google Image search it... or better yet, don't.
ps - Rudy Giuliani is just another CFR scumbag... who has also been granted knighthood by the queen of England.
why is Rudy Giuliani's law firm defending Citgo, a Venezuelan oil company?
why is Rudy Giuliani attending "Christian" events at all? He is a notorious serial adulterer (ref: Cristyne Lategano-Nicholas, Judith Nathan - ex-mistress later became wife, etc).
Rudy Giuliani is closely associated with Planned Parenthood... real Christian.
Rudy Giuliani is arguably one of the reasons OxyContin is still on the streets: he defended Purdue Pharma (the maker of OxyContin) against the DEA and OxyContin still is in the drug scene as a result.
why THE HELL is Giuliani's law firm defending one of the financial bakers of the Trans-Texas Corridor???!!!! If you haven't heard of the TTC well you better Google it and learn.
it's open knowledge that Giuliani's past clients include many citizens of the Saudi Kingdom and Big Tobacco.
so basically: If you liked the Bush Administration i highly recommend you vote for Rudy Giuliani... the scumbag.
-birdspot - Gella321, on 10/11/2007, -3/+28I saw Rudy speak at one of these Motivational events. He invoked 9/11 and how great a leader he was about every 5 minutes.
- littlespy, on 10/11/2007, -5/+25Is America really dumb enough to fall for this "patriotic", flag-waving, don't worry we'll make you safe, kind of administration he would bring? Can anyone say.. Nazi Germany or V for Vendetta?
- unusualbob, on 10/11/2007, -9/+25well most religious ppl believe that religion comes before just about anything else.
he will still get votes, but no one cares - zweben, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Terrorism! Axis of Evil! Communists! Bigfoot!
- bigstinky, on 10/11/2007, -4/+16I actually went to one of these things...Paid for by my employer. The Palace of Auburn hills was completely sold out.
Here's where I realized that Guiliani is one of the biggest tools ever in politics.
I walked out after his "speech" when it seemed that the entire 'get motivated' production was a commercial for DVD self help, or get-rich-quick in the market schemes.
You should have seen the sheeple dance, dance, dance to the music.
Evangelists would have been proud. - daddyfizz, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12We all know his 9/11 qualifications for the 9/11 president. I think he is 9/11 qualified to be a 9/11 president. 9/11.
9/11!! - jellygraph, on 10/11/2007, -5/+14he's a liar, a cheat and the worst thing that could happen to america...
- circusugly, on 10/11/2007, -8/+17Giuliani is a sleaze-ball. This is a guy who has connections to organized crime that go way back. He was absolutely despised in New York until 9/11 and now he milks for free press whenever he can. It doesn't surprise me in the least that he's cuddling up to the Christian fascists.
- sundancekid503, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Giuliani = Bush 2.0
- texnofobix, on 10/11/2007, -5/+12This guy doesn't understand responsibility when being a leader. He can do Christian things in his own time. And he lost any support from me when he openly attacked Ron Paul during the debates.
- norman619, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Sorry but if you can't put your governmental obligations before your religion then you really shouldn't be in office.
- epicurus42, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I disagree with your point of view, but I appreciate that post. Rudy should scare anyone of any creed (or not). He wants a national ID card (it's more than just a SSN). Kudos to the poster above - can you say V for Vendetta? 1984?
- m2paper, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8Instead of attending his Iraq Study Group meetings,
- milkmage, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7@funk
"But it would be interesting to know exactly what it is about him which threatens the Left so much."
total incompetence - 8 years of that ***** is enough - texnofobix, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7I don't understand why I got dugg down for telling the truth. But whatever.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Horseshoe, as much as I agree that I dislike the new comments system, I definately don't want to be on the block list of every digger.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Rudy plays the 9/11 Violin every chance he gets.
- eighttracks, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Yea, I'm mainly scared that we will get another idiot in the White House that cares more about flag-waving then actually doing his job.
- Sapulator, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7I saw Rudy speak at my school (RIT) last spring.....it was almost exactly the same speech that this website is talking about! They played "New York, New York" and he pointed out his “six principles of leadership"......while constantly referring to 9/11
-Hes a fake, rehersed, and doesn't care about our freedoms. Ron Paul for President! - polyGone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Yeah, 9/11. Well, at least 9/11.
- omnithought, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4What a useless shill
- polyGone, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I am a registered republican and I think he is a douche bag.
- epicurus42, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5A national ID card would tie all of that information together. At first, it might not seem like much. But the potential for abuse is absolutely enormous. I imagine you wouldn't mind wearing a star on your sleeve, either?
- MWeather, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Considering how little he learned from the 9/11 commission, I doubt he'd learn anything anyway. He must have a learning disability.
- polyGone, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I find it sad that you're comparing making an illegal left turn to the Iraq war.
- labmouse42, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Umm...
Wasn't the Kennedy family also tied to the mob?
If thats your core reason for calling Giuliani a sleaze-ball, then your argument is unfounded. - thepompano, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6Yeah, he's probably trying to buy the election with Christian ethics like Bush did. Remember compassionate conservatism?
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4What did you expect from ThinkProgress? In case you don't know, Pitviper ACTUALLY WORKS FOR THINKPROGRESS.
- blindcydeee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You're either being very sarcastic or incredibly stupid.
- abid786, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6It's relevant as it shows tha man's responsibility
- labmouse42, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Its was like 2 months he held the mayor office.
Quit trying to paint Giuliani out to be something he is not. He did a good job as the mayor, according to the majority of people in New York who have spoken.
However, his foreign policy sucks, and it's why he would make a horrible president. Giuliani would push us into WW3 by nuking Iran at the drop of a hat. Giuliani's great with domestic issues, but his hands need to be away from that red button! - Battleloser, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6This guy is everything a bible thumper hates. The only reason he's getting any attention at all is because of 9/11.
- angusm, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3No interest in finding out what's actually going on in Iraq? More interested in profit-making opportunities and kissing up to the Christian right? Holy smoke, this guy is presidential material!
- texnofobix, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3He most likely had the ability to reschedule.
- funkspiel, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Rudy is a chump.
- kurtwinter, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3He is getting worse and worse. As mayor, I don't think he even went to church, but now he has to "energize the base". ***** the base. The Republican base are fat, ignorant, evolution deniers who are stuck in the 1800's with ***** moralism and believe everything that Fox news tells them. They are truly useless people, and if the polls are accurate are less than 29% of our population in the US (still too much).
Go ahead ***** Republicans - throw yourselves over to the Bible thumping retards, the more you seek their votes the more moderates will slip through your fingers. - strafefire, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Okay...Someone at Thinkprogress screwed the pooch on this one.
The GET MOTIVATED seminars are NOT infused with Christianity.
I am specifically noting the fact that they are using a description from 2003 for the 2006 event, when I know good and well they could have found one for the 2006 events.
If the author of the article had actually been to a GET MOTIVATED seminar, or AT LEAST talk to someone who has been to one, they would know better.
The purpose of these events are to showcase speakers in different business fields and personal motivation fields to get BUSINESS OWNERS and ENTREPRENEURS motivated to continue on...
The only partially Christian thing about these events is Headliner Zig Ziglar, who really uses GOD as a metaphor for whatever motivates you.
The last get motivated seminar I went to (The one that they have pictured in October of last year...before I learned that Guilaini was pretty much a BUSH stoogie) had the following people:
Zig Ziglar
Phil Town
Susie Orman
RUDY GUILANI
Dr. John C Maxwell (a Christian also, but his leadership seminars NEVER talk about god)
Peter Lowe
Tom Hopkins
MOST entrepreneurs know these guys from their books they have made to shortcut our learning curves.
To be at one of these events to hear these speakers was like paying pennies on the dollar to go to ONE of their personal seminars.
I love ya thinkprogress, but this time I am calling SHENANIGANS! - labmouse42, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Because he has still been seen on multiple occasions to say "The terrorists hate us because of our freedom"
During the preliminary debates he would/could not understand that the 9/11 terrorists might have been spurned by US foreign policy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7aFXRAW7mg - alittleroy101, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3The more I hear about this douchebag the more I want to vomit.
- labmouse42, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Meh, you can't lock someone up for being an ass.
Ridiculed and teased, but you should be fair with your punishment. - diablo75, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Flip-Floppin' Cross-Dresser.
- polyGone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3So, paying attention to your government and making sure they serve the needs of the people is "pouting, bitching, and moaning"?
Now wonder our country is slowly turning to *****. You guys think that we're supposed to let them run free. They are not our pals; they are our employees. - Buckeye70, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3@emiles
Haven't you learned? thinkprogress.org is a news source (who stories are submitted by pitviper, who works for thinkprogress (Nico Pitney) (who worked for Howard Dean). I find it completely hilarious that this sight is held in such high reverence with its clear political agenda. Liberal hack sight, nothing more - Charlotte_Web, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4It's quite simple, really.
What Giuliani thinks about Iraq will be irrelevant if he doesn't get elected President. Therefore, his priority right now is to win votes. -
