- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -28/+66I really don't get why Rudy thinks he can run for president. 9/11 made him popular for some random reason. It's not like he actually did anything.
"Hey, I was the mayor of NYC during 9/11, therefore I should be president!"
Uh, sorry, no.
Plus I think I speak for most people when I say STFU about 9/11 already. I'm sick of hearing about it. I have this feeling I'll be hearing about this crap 20 years from now. Move on. - wrc_michael, on 10/12/2007, -14/+33Yep, Guiliani was a crap mayor when he was in office. Wait till those records come out. I just don't get why he is so popular in the polls when no one knows anything about him. Ignorance I guess.
- FALSEFLAG, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22Giuliani won't get the Republican nomination anyway.
The 9/11 issue will only become amplified if he continues.
They can't afford that, because it not only makes him look bad, it makes tons of other government officials look bad too.
That's why Mayor Bloomberg had to recently shut down a sensitive 9/11 probe: http://digg.com/politics/MAYOR_MIKE_KILLS_SENSITIVE_9_11_PROBE - Pottersquash, on 10/12/2007, -7/+23Firefighter Veterans For the Truth!!!!
- dukeeeey, on 10/12/2007, -10/+23most of the fire fighters believe 911 was an inside job
- XISUPERMANIX, on 10/12/2007, -7/+20@rm999 actually Rudy sucked, the city liked him because he cleaned up graffiti and got rid of the homeless. He actually jailed the homeless to get the from sleeping on the streets.
- XISUPERMANIX, on 10/12/2007, -16/+28@MudkipsULiekEm He became popular because of his speeches he gave after 9/11 and how the president supported him. Other than that he didn't do jack *****.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -25/+35You all remember wrong. A small tiny number of NYers hated him. Most LOVED him for cleaning up the city. about 2500 murders under Dinkins ridiculous reign, down to about 650 when Guiliani left.
I guess that iswhy almost EVERY major city in the US is using his policies to clean up their own messes. Because he was so crappy.
Bums hated Guiliani. Muggers, rapists, murderers hated Guliani. The mafia hated Guiliani. Everyone else loves him.
He would have destroyed Hillary if he did not get sick. The only reason why it was as close as it was was because Hillary's minions unearthed the affair. - naldwell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11@MudkipsULiekEm
"I have this feeling I'll be hearing about this crap 20 years from now. Move on."
I have this feeling in 20 years from now we may begin to understand the impact this event has had on global politics, and hopefully a little more about the motivation of its instigators. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17"Ignorance I guess."
Big understatement!
Heh, look at our current president. That explains everything that's wrong with people right there. - xyc0n, on 10/12/2007, -14/+23@MudkipsULiekEm
"Heh, look at our current president. That explains everything that's wrong with people right there."
But our current president wasn't elected. - pilot3033, on 10/12/2007, -12/+21In regards to you're first point
From TFA:
More than 5 years later, body parts are still turning up in the trade center site.
Need I remind you also, that we STILL have a pile of rubble there. Rubble in a giant ***** hole.

Who at OEM issued the warning prior to the collapse of the south tower?
Joseph Pfeifer, Battalion Chief (F.D.N.Y.):
“But right before the south tower collapsed, I noticed a lot of people just left the lobby, and I heard we had a crew of all different people, high-level people in government, everybody was gone, almost like they had information that we didn't have.”
http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/wtc_giuliani.html - mojibyrd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8If Guiliani wasn't such a piece of *****, why would the firefighters union be calling him out about his lacklustre performance? I cannot understand why people think he was so great on 9-11 as i certainly did not see his ass down in the hole digging or looking for bodies/survivors or doing anything to help the situation but trying to protect his ass and that of his puppet masters...Guiliani is nothing more than a thug.
- dukeeeey, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9clearly the laws of physics were wrong that day as well
from the NIST website
approximately 9 seconds for WTC 2. These elapsed times were based on: (1) precise timing of the initiation of collapse from video evidence, and (2) ground motion (seismic) signals recorded at Palisades, N.Y., that also were precisely time-calibrated for wave transmission times from lower Manhattan (see NCSTAR 1-5A).
http://wtc.nist.gov/pubs/factsheets/faqs_8_2006.htm
According to the debunking site
the building if it had fallen in a vacuum would have taken
t = (834m/9.8m/s^2)^1/2 = 9.23s
http://www.debunking911.com/freefall.htm
The only logical conclusion must be that in order for the building to fall faster than the speed of gravity, the laws of physics must have changed temporarily on September the 11th 2001.
Even if you assume the building fell in 9.5 seconds, factoring air resistance, that would have been impossible. - dukeeeey, on 10/12/2007, -11/+15The Engineering News Record (ENR) contained a number of articles on the design and construction of the World Trade Center. The article "How Columns Will Be Designed for 110-Story Buildings" quotes lead architect John Skilling:
"live loads on these [perimeter] columns can be increased more than 2000% before failure occurs."
--John Skilling, in Engineering News Record, 4/2/1964
Glanz and Lipton summarize the findings of the white paper:
The Vierendeel trusses would be so effective, according to the engineers' calculations, that all the columns on one side of a tower could be cut, as well as the two corners and several columns on the adjacent sides, and the tower would still be strong enough to withstand a 100-mile-per-hour wind.
--City in the Sky, p 133
1993
“[Building designer] John Skilling recounts his people having carried out an analysis which found the twin towers could withstand the impact of a Boeing 707. Our analysis indicated the biggest problem would be the fact that all the fuel (from the airplane) would dump into the building. There would be a horrendous fire. A lot of people would be killed.” But, he says, “The building structure would still be there.”
http://archives.seattletimes.nwsource.com/cgi-bin/texis.cgi/web/vortex/display?slug=1687698&date=19930227
[Leslie Robertson:] “The twin towers were in fact the first structures outside the military and nuclear industries designed to resist the impact of a jet airplane.”
http://www.fema.gov/rebuild/mat/wtcstudy.shtm
“A previous analysis [by WTC building designers], carried out early in 1964, calculated that the towers would handle the impact of a 707 traveling at 600 mph without collapsing”
http://www.cooperativeresearch.org/item.jsp?item=a022793skilling - Muyoso, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6We better still be hearing about this 20 years from now. If we don't that means we haven't learned anything from it. Its like the equivalent of people saying a few years after WWII ended, "God, can we stop hearing about Pearl Harbor, enough already!!!". I'm sorry if thinking about the ramifications of the event, and all of the people who died that day cuts into your time watching American Idol, but its a little more important than your vote for the next big thing in musical failures.
- deepfog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hey all, don't forget to digg this article too, it's related, the one about 9/11 dead being used to fill potholes ...
http://digg.com/world_news/911_dead_being_used_to_fill_potholes
We can partially thank Rudy Rasputin for this - WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6And don't forget that it was on Giuliani's watch that the biggest case of illegally disturbing a crime scene before adequate investigations could be done was perpetrated---with the help of the criminal co-conspirator, Giuliani.
The scrap metal and other debris was not only removed, but all the scrap metal was quickly sold ...to China .. before any tests could be done on most of it, needed to show the residues of all the demolition charges that had been preplanted in the buildings by the terrorists in Washington.
Giuliani was very much a part of this attack on America, with the other Anti-American, Republican criminals like Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Rice. - MBX1, on 10/12/2007, -16/+20giuliani is one of these corporate, corrupt bastards responsible for all the things around 9/11. he certainly wishes to hi-jack the event like the bush-administration did too. ***** greedy bastards.
people should finally wake up and realize that 9/11 was just another burning-rome, another reichstags-fire, a self-imposed event created by the corrupt bastards to setup all the things (patriot act = hitler's enabling act, etc.) to surpress our freedoms and draining us even more financially for their own benefit and warfare.
The Real Terrorists: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vL_76KEp2Gk - jellygraph, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Giuliani is a jackass... I hope he gets the hint
- Swift2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Giuliani's biggest problem, to me, are the facts that he is a dick with his family(ies) -- his son won't speak to him, and he didn't go to the kid's graduation -- but more importantly, Bernie Kerik. Bernie Kerik was a piece of *****, mob-connected little punk who was Giuliani's chauffeur until he couldn't take an accomplished, intelligent police chief who got as much publicity as da Mayor, William Bratton, who really was the guy who engineered the crime fighting. So Giuliani got rid of Bratton, and installed his frickin' chauffeur as chief. Today in the Times, there's a story that Giuliani, who's said that "he didn't know" about Kerik's mob problem, or any of the little dodges that Kerik was involved with, was told all about those allegations before he hired him. Now Kerik's in front of the grand jury. And The Great Leader Giuliani actually nominated Kerik to be head of Homeland Security. Unbelievable. The guy's dirty, and Giuliani boosted him and was a business partner.
Crime was headed down throughout the '90s, for all kinds of reasons. New York had a smart chief, and they got the best improvement in New York. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3A white paper on the structure of the Twin Towers carried out by the firm of Worthington, Skilling, Helle & Jackson contained eleven numbered points, including:
The buildings have been investigated and found to be safe in an assumed collision with a large jet airliner (Boeing 707-DC 8) traveling at 600 miles per hour. Analysis indicates that such collision would result in only local damage which could not cause collapse or substantial damage to the building and would not endanger the lives and safety of occupants not in the immediate area of impact.

It doesn't speak well for Mikey either. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7@salomejones
Perhaps by living your whole life there, you have lost perspective. I remember NYC before Giuliani. Cab drivers used to run down pedestrians in crosswalks, homeless people used to litter the streets, and crime was out of control. That city was cleaned up dramatically, and it didn't happen magically. You may not have liked the guy personally, but you can't deny what he did for the city. - LavaHot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hey, if Roosevelt thinks he should get another term in office, think again buddy. Not only did you arrange the battleships at pearl harbor in the most vulnerable configuration imaginable, but you didn't even see an attack coming. I mean, if anybody should be brought up on war crimes, it's that guy. "Infamy" my ASS! How dare you try to console us when you damn well that you provoked the Japanese! You dared to challenge Japanese industrialism with your daring comeback from the great depression, are you a total idiot? If anything this only proves the vast conspiracy for the US to control European and western Asian interests by flexing military muscle. How dare you disguise a conquering agenda as incompetency!
Please note: I have the utmost respect for "The Greatest Generation," this is merely a satirical take on how people praise their leaders without thinking of perhaps their incompetence and poor leadership. - Gunite, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9Pilot, what is your point? This article is total crap. Someone please explain to me why these issues are important and how he is to blame? - NOgiuliani, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Or how about a guy who is not paid for by corporations, one who has never voted to raise taxes, how about Ron Paul.
- dime, on 10/12/2007, -8/+10"You all remember wrong. A small tiny number of NYers hated him."
Um, what?
Yes, people liked him for turning Times Square into Disneymania and getting the homeless guys with the spray bottles away from your cars, but that's about it.
That's about it, though. They thought he was a dick when his Brute Squads rolled through the boroughs. They thought he was a dick when he tried to cut funding to the Brooklyn Museum because it had art he didn't like. They thought he was a dick when his administration started ticketing people for every conceivable thing to boost city revenue. They thought he was a dick when he started enforcing 70 year old Cabaret Laws that said people couldn't dance in establishments without a license. They thought he was a dick when he rezoned massive areas of land just to let friendly big business in.
He was a godsend compared to Dinkins, but that's not saying much, since he was incompetant in almost every conceivable way. He would have lost by a landslide in 97 if he ran against anyone but Messinger.
So, he really can only run on two things:
- Kicked out hobos
- Happened to be mayor on 9/11
In the end, though, he's still just a dick.
Edit - and it can be said that a lot of the good things about Giuliani isn't really his doing at all. People act better when they have more money, and he happened to become mayor right at the cusp of one of the longest running periods of economic prosperity in this country. - cbambrick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3***** YOU and your super leftist friends with your 9-11 conspiracy *****. 19 al-qaeda operatives under OSAMA BIN LADEN, who hate the United States with a passion because we are so prosperous and not MUSLIM, hijacked 4 airplanes and flew them into the two WTC buildings, the Pentagon, and almost flew one into the White House or Capitol Building. Their goal was to cripple the US morale and economy. Instead, we beat the ***** out of them and the economy is booming after a small recession (a recession that had already started towards the end of the Clinton Presidency). - asdfasdf, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3NYCs enforcement of marijuana laws used to be lenient. The city didn't waste much resources on pot cases. Our jails weren't filled by students, teachers, doctors and other would-be law abiding citizens who merely possessed small amounts of marijuana.
After Bloomberg admitted to using Cannabis ("you bet I did, and I enjoyed it!"), NORML raised thousands in donations to put up a pro-pot ad on buses and in subways. It was to have Bloomberg's picture on it, and he agreed to it. The MTA agreed to it, and so did most of our citizens. Giuliani warned the MTA against it and heavily increased penalties for marijuana, even though it wasn't causing any social problems whatsoever.
Anyway, he married his cousin. That's enough bad press to most Americans to stop him from getting far in the elections. - rhoadesb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Bums hated Guiliani. Muggers, rapists, murderers hated Guliani. The mafia hated Guiliani. Everyone else loves him."

- LavaHot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's only one thing that the article mentions that I think Rudy could be held accountable for, and thats setting up a substantial emergency outpost in a building thats ON FIRE. Perhaps he wasn't clearly made aware of the supposed degree of damage to the building, but the article would certainly suggest that it shouldn't have been there with the available information at the time. (We all know the building later collapsed due to fire.) However, I do not believe that any of the other arguments presented in the article should be held as a reason to NOT vote for Rudy, not that there's a ton of reasons to vote FOR him.

by URI DOWBENKO
When you own all the ponies, you don't really care who
wins the race. So it is with the US presidential
elections in 2004.
After his triumphant appearance at the Bilderberg
Conference in Italy even the New York Times was
gushing at the performance of John Edwards. The
selection of John "Bilderberger" Edwards by John
"Skull and Bones" Kerry was inevitable, as the secret
societies own all the candidates in this "election."
This time around George "Skull and Bones" Bush is not
favored by the elite as his father George H. W. Bush
was replaced by Bill Clinton in 1992.
The New York Times wrote -- "Several people pointed to
the secretive and exclusive Bilderberg conference of
some 120 people that this year drew the likes of Henry
A. Kissinger, Melinda Gates and Richard A. Perle to
Stresa, Italy, in early June, as helping win Mr.
Kerry's heart. Mr. Edwards spoke so well in a debate
on American politics with the Republican Ralph Reed
that participants broke Bilderberg rules to clap
before the end of the session. - Dyssolve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If he makes it to the oval office I'd like to see what happens when he get's a BJ and ends up in court over it.
